My deisel truck has 2 batteries which I bought at Batteries Plus in PC a couple years ago. They kept draining and would not keep a charge. I took my truck to the store and explained the problem. They checked the batteries and stated, yes they are bad and under warranty, BUT, my truck was draining the batteries and they would not replace them until I had my truck fixed. Took the truck to shop, they said after 3 days they could not check the truck until batteries were replaced because they couldn't get them to hold a charge long enough. I took batteries back to store and they said they would check them and replace if bad, yes they are still under warranty. They'll be ready later that day & if not, first thing in the morning.The next afternoon, I went to the store, they are not ready, will not be ready that day either & now under NO warranty. Of course, I got angry, raised my voice and complained. They told me to take my batteries and leave, I am tresspassing and they are calling the cops. I refused to take the batteries until checked and replaced. They called the police, put my bateries in the parking lot and locked me out. The Mgr, refused to give me his name, a card or any paperwork showing I bought them there. The police said I had to leave, they could not make them do anything. I drove 40 miles to another store, the owner was really nice, verified the batteries were bad and replaced them. After taking them to the shop where my truck was, they checked my truck and stated NOTHING was wrong with my truck. It was normal to show an amp draw for several minutes after shutdown due to systems shutting down in the truck. BUT, it cost me $310. for labor to check out my truck. I should have read the Yelp comments before going there since I noticed they had more #1 ratings than #2, 3, 4 or 5 total and many of them were for NOT honoring battery warranties. PLEASE, don't purchase anything there with a warranty because it won't be honored. Also they cost me $310. for having work checked my my vehicle which was not needed. read more

(2/2/2021) In October 2020, we brought in a motorcycle battery (Xtreme AGM 20HL-BS Powersport Battery. Bought 3/2020) to be replaced that I had bought from a California store. The guy behind the counter told me that they do not carry that brand and that I had bought it elsewhere. Stupid me believed him because I could not find the receipt to prove otherwise. ( I just logged into my account and found the purchase ) ; So we bought a new battery at that time. The new battery blew out one terminal. Hoping for a better outcome than the last one However, their motorcycle batteries do NOT last a year. (2/3/2021) UPDATE: This store denied the exchange. Claims it is a wiring issue even though wires are not damaged. Will NOT replace the battery and are now claiming that the battery we turned in, In October was for a different bike. First, the Xtreme wasn't a battery they carry, now they "claim" it was for a different bike from 4 months ago? How would they remember? How would they know what bike it came from when I bought the battery in California? Just found out they sold us a battery too small for the motorcycle. My husband and I have been going to this store for years never a bad experience until today. My husband went to purchase a battery and he had horrible customer service. Andres was very rude and quite frankly unhelpful. When purchasing the battery, it was marked $379 at the store and he told him to buy it online at $399 and when my husband confronted him on the $379 he rudely denied and said he must pay the $399. When he was paying the full price of $399, Andres quickly ran over and changed the price of the battery from $379 to $399. When we have dealt with any other company we have paid the marked price whether that price is correct or not. It is not the customers job to know what that price is, that's the point of a label. My car wouldn't start in the same large parking area as Batteries + Bulbs...resides....with many other businesses. i went into the store and immediately a young man actually walked me to my car and tested the battery and alternator....... Alternator tested good... The battery was at 11 volts... Not enough to start the car.. The young man jumped my battery to start my car. He wished me and my wife a great evening.....off i went.... Rude staff, don't recommend buying from here. Tried doing a return on a battery, but they refused the return and only wanted to give store credit cause they had a different card on file than the one I used. I have proof of the card that I used through the bank statements, but they don't care and claim it's their fraud protection policy. I bought a battery for my 2014 Equinox and I thought I had a 6 cylinder engine. It turns out that I have a 4 cylinder engine. When I went to the store to get it installed they were able to find and give me the correct battery for my car. They installed it in about 15 minutes. Very knowledgeable and courteous staff. This place has a lot to learn about customer service. I brought in an Apple Watch that needed a battery. The changes it and handed it to me dead. No charge. No way of checking whether they cha fed the battery. You would think a place that changed batteries would think of how it would feel receiving a dead product after paying $43 to change a battery. Went in to get a replacement key for my Honda. Online shows key for $39.99 plus the fees to cut the key. I was quoted the same price in the Venice location. The person who cut the keys had just went on break and I could not wait. I went to the Port Charlotte location and was quoted $189.00! I told the salesperson that online and the Venice location said $39.99 plus the fee to cut the key. He said that was not true. Check the part # is FOB 11730! Stopped in to batteries plus last week to have a battery changed. The gentleman at the desk who helped me had absolutely no personality and was of very little help in assisting me with making battery recommendations. Once I did select A battery and went to check out at the counter with him I didn't even realize he was ready for me to swipe my credit card because he just stood there. Typically a sales person will say the total is and go ahead and swipe your card, but this guy just stood there. It was just a very odd interaction with this person from start to finish. To top it off, once I got home to use the battery it didn't even work so I had to go back to the store to get it replaced. Poor customers service. All I needed was a replacement battery for my wife's I Phone. After I was told from an employee who was on break outside that the job would take roughly 15 to 20 mins. After waiting some time for one customer to complete his transaction finally me & my wife's turn after about 10min to be told by the cashier the job couldn't be done before closing, and to come back tomorrow since their tech was already busy. I left the store about 7:30 and you guys close at 8pm. Disappointed that I live in another county and a distance away from my home and the concern was more of him closing the store to complete his shift than helping a paying customer. You guys could do better than that and this is on Black Friday. I've been a customer with you guys for many years and purchased quite a few top of the line car batteries in the past and never been handled like that. Just went in to buy a battery and asked if I could get the internet discount. I was told the price was the same whether internet or in store. There is clearly a 10% discount via internet. Proceeded to buy the battery and they wanted my phone number. They do not need my number to make a sale. After I protested they said they didn't need the phone number. The sales person rang up the sale and then asked if the battery was for business or personal use. Sorry but that is none of their business either. Their credit card machine is programmed so that if you don't answer the question, the credit card can't be processed. Needless to say I walked out without buying the battery. I will get it online for half of what they charge. In this day and age privacy is becoming ever so scarce. I will never deal with a company that will not just take your money and make the sale without having to cough up information that I choose to keep private. read more

I came here to have my iPhone 6 screen replaced as I had dropped the phone and shattered it the night before I was flying out. (Visiting family) I found this location online and gave them a call, they had the part and fixed it within an hour. I was very impressed with how quickly they could get it done for me. A few days went by and I looked down at my phone and there was two cracks by the home button, which was upsetting to see because I hadn't dropped the phone and I even put an otter box on it for fear of it being dropped again anyways. Turns out I have a defective screen.. I called this location and talked to Sean. He talked to the manager and they ended up taking care of my second replacement for free. Even went out of their way to call a location in California which is where I live , to have them fix it for me. I am very pleased with the results and also very happy that they took care of me. Batteries Plus DOES NOT stand behind their product. Bought a new battery for my motorcycle in Feb 2018. In March 2018 removed the battery from the bike and placed it on my wooden work bench with all my other batteries for the summer. Only used the bike a couple of times before heading north for the summer. After returning in Oct I found that the bike battery had only 1 volt while all the other batteries were fine. I brought the battery back to Batteries Plus in Port Charlotte and was told they needed to charge it for 24 hours so I left it with them. After picking up the battery and putting it back in the bike I could only get a couple of starts out of it before I would have to put it on a charge. I then went to the Batteries Plus in Ft Myers. I was told the battery was fine and they wanted to put in on a charge for 24 hours. I didn't leave it with them but returned home and started to look at the bike for problems. I replaced the starter motor and started relay. I was still having trouble starting the bike. I returned to Batteries Plus in Port Charlotte with the battery with the intent of giving them one last chance to replace the defective battery and after telling the sales person my situation I was told by the "manager" Scott Jones" that it was their policy to charge the battery for 24 hours. I left with my battery and purchased a new on at another store and the bike starts right up the first time. VERY UNHAPPY WITH THE LACK OF CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! I thought this was a great dealer. The past four years I bought over a $1000 in Automotive batteries. Between my two cars, rv, boat and jet skis. I never complained about being told the battery is out of the warranty period. I took it in stride. But when a battery is under one year old, I draw the line. The manager was no help what-so ever. Poor customer service. Very rude. Took my car in because my 2 year old battery purchased there had failed on me. They said my battery was fine. The next day my car would not start again. Took car back in and was given same response. Was advised that my problem was not battery related. Then went to VW dealership and after testing said problem was the battery. Went back to batteries plus and sales person who waited on me earlier tried to avoid me. Finally they agreed to replace my battery which was under warranty but said not to bring it back as they would not warrant it. They still thought that my original battery was ok. Guess what? After 5 days my car is running fine. So they can take there 7000.00 machine and shove it. I will talk to headquarters about this and do expect a warranty on this replacement. read more

We brought our daughters cell phone to batt.plus bulbs in Port Charlotte to have the screen fixed . The screen started to peel up within a week then a large piece broke off the corner they charged $130.00 And it took 3 hrs for them to fix it. We took it to the Port Charlotte Towne Center Mall to "Cellairis" They fixed it in 20 min. Put a life time warranty and included a screen protector and a case for just a little more than we were charged at batt. Plus bulbs MAYBE THEY SHOULD STICK TO SELLING BATTERIES AND LIGHT BULBS WE WILL NEVER GO BACK THERE !! read more

Several months ago I purchased a battery for my van from battery plus bulb in port Charlotte. This morning my van would not start. The battery was dead , after trying to recharge it I discovered it had a bad cell. I took the battery and van by jump starting it. To my mechanic Only to be told the same bad cell and nothing wrong with the van. Not wanting to run around with out the ability to shut it of I requested help . John took the battery back to battery plus bulb for me. They refused to replace it with out attempting to recharge. Four trip later here it is in a nut shell they will not honor their warranty. Their is some very fine print if you bring your battery in dead the warranty is null and void. That is not a warranty it's a escape Claus to not honor their warranty. They are banking on the fact that this area has a high number of snow birds and by the time you find you have a problem your back up north. I will have to buy a new battery but rest assured that it will not be from them. For me like so many I live on a fixed income so this is financial painful read more
