I have avoided writing a negative review in hopes that my situation would be resolved without having to do so. Unfortunately, that has failed to happen. I am writing this in hopes of possibly sparing someone else the grief I have been put through. More than anything, now it's the principle & I'm not just letting this go. This is not how customers should be treated, ever.
I brought my phone into All in One Wireless, July 9, 2018. Yes, 11 months ago. My daughter had just graduated from 5th grade & all the pictures from the graduation were on my phone. The screen had gone black, basically it worked except for the screen. I hoped they would be able to retrieve the data for me. I believe THAT'S WHAT THEY DO. I did NOT want it repaired because until Feb. 18, 2019, it was under warranty with LG. If I sent it to LG, it would be replaced with a working device, or at the very least, repaired. I was desperately trying to salvage those photos & videos.
Fast forward to today, the pictures were never retrieved, the motherboard was "lost" long ago. I was told the motherboard would be replaced with a new one for "the long wait". As if it's a favor to me. In reality, if it was replaced, it would be because mine was lost.
I have text regularly inquiring about my phone, only to get the run around. Most recently, I was told a "brand new phone" was ordered from Ebay, that was May 8. On May 19 when I asked again, he said he would check the tracking info when he got back to his computer. I still haven't heard back on that. Next when I inquired about the status, I was asked if I'm locked into a contract. I was told it would be much easier if I wasn't & could just get a phone on a prepaid account.
My phone was 5 months old when I dropped it off, I had paid $175 for it new, Feb 17. After many texts, calls & aporoximately 8 months I was finally told they had a phone that might work for me. It was marked $189 & I was told I would have to be charged $89, after a credit of $100 for my phone THEY lost the motherboard to. Of course, that was AFTER my warranty with LG expired.
(In December, I text him to remind that him if I could get my device back before Feb. 17, it would be covered by my warranty with LG).
When I originally went into that store, I dropped off 2 phones, this one & one with a broken screen. The screen was fixed & that one was returned to me in less than 3 hours. I never imagined such a nightmare would follow.
How is it that a business can take something of mine with the understanding that it is in there to be repaired AND returned to me (in a timely manner) & basically take a year to tell me my original phone is no longer available AND I'm just out of luck? I've made multiple unnecessary trips to the store from Englewood, hours & hours spent texting, calling & attempting a resolution where I don't get screwed more than I already have. The BEST part? I never got the pictures off that phone- the whole reason why I took it there to begin with.
In my mind, there is nothing that can justify what has happened. No excuses, stories or shifting the blame to someone else. It has been 11 months.
I don't believe for a second that all the reviews "Dave is great", "Dave saved the day", "quick, knowledgeable & competant staff" are anything but made up bullshit. If that were all fact, I wouldn't have been treated this way. And, I would have a working phone. read more
