Jim was quick to respond to my mold and fungus issues. He is extremely knowledgeable and professional -- and explained the entire process every step of the way. His expertise in addressing my problems using several steps left my home safe and free of mold/fungus. The price was very reasonable, his team was very respectful of my home and now my home is safe and mold/fungus free. I would definitely recommend Jim and his team. On another note, our elevator was still non-operation (thanks Ian) and we were about to lose electricity for 3-5 days due to repairs, so this job also included starting immediately and carrying large equipment up a flight of stairs. when jim abde came into my home he said I didn't need a test and they could get rid of the mold smell. After a week I still had a smell Jim offered to bring a ionizer bye for 2 days and it would help. Then hurricane Ian hit and I had damage so I waited to call him after some repairs I called him this past week and his response was it would cost me another 1000.00 to bring the ionizer to my home after I already paid him 1999.00 initially. I am one of the Ian victims in the Englewood area. Finding The Mold Guys was a blessing in disguise. A 1000 sq Ft of ceiling came down with the 24" of wet blown in insulation. All that landed on the contents of my living area. In less than a week it was cleaned up and all surfaces were treated for mold prevention. I requested a quote through HomeAdvisor for a possible mold issue on the evening of 03/25/2021. I received a phone call from The Mold Guys last night at 10:03 pm and after a few minutes of conversation regarding my issue, I let the company representative know that I would need to speak with my husband. He asked if he could give me a call the next morning, 03/26/2021, and I responded yes and gave him a time of 10:00 am. The representative called right at 10:00 am. He asked if I was ready to do the test. I responded by stating I'd spoken with my husband and he felt the $300.00 was a little steep. The representative proceeded with this "If the price of the lab submittal and results are too high, how can you afford to pay for the mold removal?" I said, "Excuse me? You shouldn't be asking me that question. How dare you question my financial situation?" He said (his exact words in a mad tone) "You F$%&ing B@#$%!, You just cost me $122.00!" I said, "Wait a minute, you didn't just say that to me?" He said "Yes, because you just wasted my time!" When I tried speaking further, he hung up the phone. I tried calling him back, but he pushed me to voicemail. I reached out to HomeAdvisor right afterwards to let them know what occurred. I was placed on hold and transferred to someone who informed me that when a lead does not bring forth a service, the business can request a refund of their "lead" fee. The HomeAdvisor representative apologized for my experience and assured me that this does not happen, and they would contact the business. I understand that HomeAdvisor is a referral service to consumers looking for professional home services. I feel like he realized I was an African American woman, and that African American people cannot pay which is totally discriminating. He didn't know how I was going to pay. I am hoping that someone will do something about this business because if this is the way they react when they feel like someone incapable of paying or they feel this way towards African Americans because they think we are the only race that cannot pay then they should not be a part of HomeAdvisor and maybe think about saying they don't deal with our kind. I deserve an apology, but I know I won't get one. :( :( read more

Within two days I realized that I did not need any of the three companies recommended so I contacted each one and thanked them for their time. Two were very gracious. Jim has called and texted me three times since then, using an extremely threatening tone with vulgar language, insisting that I owe him money. Don't call them.
