My old Sennheiser Flex 5000 receiver needed a new battery, Batteries Plus (and 3 other similar shops in Fresno and Clovis) didn't carry that type of battery. I found one online but realized, I didn't have the tools or skills to open the receiver, to replace the battery without distroying the case. With battery and the receiver in hand, I went back to Batteries Plus and asked if they could replace the battery for me. Even though I bought the battery online, the technician carefully opened the reciever and replaced the battery for me. He wouldn't accept payment but I purchased a pack of AAA batteries to ease my conscience for taking his time and expertise. Thanks, Batteries Plus for such great customer service. Earlier this week I dropped off my very old iPad Air 2 in for a battery replacement. The old one only lasted a couple hours. The service here was fast, only taking a total of a couple hours. Ordered wrong Battery type, asked for a return next day. The store manager refused to accept a return. Manager got mu phone number and will verify with Vendor if possible to return??, but never call back as promised. At the end of the day, I call the store, they put me on hold for a 15 mins, manager refused to talk to me, and let me talk with the staff and agreed to return 50% credit. Bought a battery and when I got home discovered that it did not fit my car. Took it back for a refund and met who is perhaps the worst store manager I've encountered in a long time. First, he was running around with his hair on fire and was rude upon arrival. I was told by this "manager" that he couldn't refund the State environmental fee ($2). Then he said he couldn't refund the core charge because the computer wouldn't let him. Keep in mind I did not have a core because I couldn't use the battery. I got frustrated. He said he was done talking to me and walked away. I stood in awe. Finally, he stomped to the back and stomped back and again rudely peeled off 4 five dollar bills and walked away (not that it matters that much but the core charge was $22). I had batteries replaced in two watches. They offered "lifetime" batteries and I chose to upgrade to the "lifetime" option. Both failed within two weeks! It's apparently a common problem with Timex Indiglo watches, especially at Batteries Plus. They either use terrible batteries or the don't know how to reset the indiglo function. Service was exemplary here not only on the phone was I greeted like I was in the store, but when arrived the gal at the front desk greeted me courteously and then Travis took care of all my battery needs. He was friendly and took Extra Care to make sure he did not mess up the memory in my car when the battery was removed and asked for the manual so they could make sure there were no problems. The battery here was $40 cheaper than it was anywhere else including online plus they installed it and I got a 10% discount . so I'm not real sure why some reviews say they are expensive. I went into this store for the first time a couple of days ago and got a new battery for my old 6S+ iphone. I was under the impression that I could return the battery any time in the next six months if it didn't work. After losing it's first charge from the store installation, the battery never charged again, even using the best charger and having clean ports. So, I returned the battery today, and learned that the warranty was only good if the battery was defective. In this case, the battery was still good, but my iphone had other issues that prevented it from charging. The Manager, Steve, explained how the warranty worked, letting me know I was not entitled to a refund because their battery was not defective. But he graciously agreed to give me a refund anyway. Last night my iPhone battery became so swollen it was causing the screen to bend and separate from the case. Made an appointment this morning at this location. 30 minutes and $64 later my phone was like new. I was uncertain they would work on it due to the danger--I've heard that the Apple store sends such cases out for work. The staff was so courteous and prompt. Offered me a chair if I wanted to wait (I'm old and it shows). As I waited a man walked in needing 2 large batteries for his diesel truck. Within 5 minutes they had checked him out and helping him load them into his vehicle. Another customer brought in 2 irregular bulbs for replacement. Same promptness, expertise, and courtesy. This was with only 1 staff/tech on site!!! (An assistant returned to the store at the time of my checkout. She was as kind as the tech). I sensed that this young man might be the owner? In any case, I was delighted at how the free market can work when a man enjoys his work and loves customers. The price was extremely reasonable and I was not charged extra for the problem of safely handling a battery that could explode into 1000° flames if accidentally punctured during removal. I had time to explore the inventory. Well-stocked, spotlessly clean, and surprisingly affordable. I will be taking all by battery and bulb needs to this location.
