The original destination was the CVS restroom in the back of the store until I read the posted sign, "Employees Only". I asked a gal at the pharmacy where the nearest restroom is and she directed us here. My friend and I hopped in our car and drove here, parking in their relatively empty parking lot. There was a small group walking along the beach but it didn't look like they meant to suntan or swim there. I noticed a water fountain and picnic tables likely used for weekend items. Coming on a Thursday morning, this part of the park was empty. Though we came here for a purpose, I could see us bringing our food from our lunch spot here and enjoy our meal with nature.

this house is truly a gem! it has 4 bedrooms which is good for a large family to stay when in…read morehawaii. the master bedroom is separate and has a full view of the ocean...no need to wake up early and go walk just to see the sunrise because you can just watch it from the bedroom itself! it has a gorgeous view of the beach. you can relax and eat at the house deck while doing the ff: listening to the sound of the waves, enjoying the sea breeze and of course, seeing the beautiful ocean scenery. you dont have to pay for an ocean adventure using an agency because the house is near the beach (5 minute walk only) and has everything you need for a beach day. they have complete set of beach stuff to use (snorkel gear, boogie boards, beach mats, beach chair, umbrella, kiddie water toys). the owner is very kind and thoughtful. when there is something you need help with, he responds quickly to tend to the issue and is also very accommodating. overall, this house deserves a 5 star! i would stay here again when i come back and definitely recommend it to everyone!

So, stop by and take a break and visit this place. it seems like a lot of the locals come here, so that pretty much tells you something right there. Give it a shot!

Watch for surf and current... it was a little rough. it is also a campground but sign says that a printed permit is required to be able to use the park and all fees are non-refundable. We made a stop here to enjoy the scenery. The parking lot is just a short walk to the shore... can't see the beach immediately, at least from where we parked by the restrooms, but once we reached the sandy part and got a glimpse of the ocean it was "oooohs" and "aaaahhs." The nice stretch of soft sand and its ocean background is great for picture-taking especially when the surf is up... the best part was that there weren't that many people on this beach when we came. We had to turn around, but thankfully, a helpful Google reviewer mentioned that the trailhead is actually located near the Turtle Bay Resort at the Ritz Carlton. Once we drove back to the resort, a very nice employee pointed us in the right direction. For future hikers, we definitely want to mention this so you don't make the same mistake we did! Where to park: Park at the Turtle Bay Resort and look for the signs directing you toward public beach access. The trailhead is located near the helicopter pad in the parking lot. The trail itself isn't difficult. It's mostly flat, but the terrain changes between sandy sections and rocky areas, which actually makes the hike more interesting. There are beautiful coastal views along the way, and we even spotted an endangered Hawaiian monk seal sunbathing on the beach! We had passed signs reminding hikers to keep a safe distance from the seals, so we made sure to admire it from afar and let it enjoy its beach day undisturbed. I'd rate this as an easy hike, especially because there isn't much elevation gain. However, the changing terrain means strollers won't be able to make it through the entire trail. Overall, a beautiful and relatively easy coastal hike -- just make sure you find the correct trailhead before you start!

I do however, get occasional "teleworking fever" brought on by the current work-at-home mandate. This weekend we tried to do something about it by seeking out some alternative hiking locations. While Turtle Bay resort is still closed, the myriad of hiking paths are still open. We chose to avail ourselves of the Kahuku point trail and some other ancillary loop trails that stretch across the resort grounds. The day was a perfect one with brisk trades and plenty sun. The 1.5 mile loop and back took us about 3 hours including some time spent gazing out at the point at all the breakers and exploring tide pools. Even spied small fish and found some very interesting geological history--such as micro perforated rocks showing how the volcanic gases escaped. In the end we left the resort feeling decently exercised and ready to face Monday morning! Highly recommend a visit. Mahalo for reading my review.

We didnt even get to stay here because the owners are back and fourth on policy's Booked in for Dec 2020 during covid. My family contracted Covid days away from trip. We were definitely well within the Covid guidelines of a return policy, but they wouldn't give one so we agreed to just using the credit at a later. After that they more than able to cancel it and tried to reschedule us for the spring . Their availability went away every time. Every few months we would attempt to make a booking, but they were always full. (interesting right ?) Next thing you know two years plus go by. Now she says she's unable to give us any compensation or credit because we're past the two years. It's not our fault they did not have availability. Don't book your stay here. The owners have every intention to get money out of you and lack any type of customer service. Worst customer service and just the worst selfish people. Greed: greed /rēd/ noun 1. intense and selfish desire for something, especially wealth, power, or food.

It seemed to be a perfect destination for our honeymoon- beach front, quiet, no crowds. However, upon our arrival, we were greeted with three children screaming next door and loud music playing. The beach front rental we booked does have a privacy screen on the patio but it's pretty much a shard patio. No matter- we will just lounge on the beach and enjoy our homemade beverages. Unfortunately, the hurricane like wind prevented that. It was so windy that we didn't even use the lounge chairs or picnic table outside. The waves on the beach were too intense due to the weather, so we attempted to find calmer beaches...no luck on the north side. Rip currents were everywhere. Okay, how about a nice dinner? Nope- your only option is roadside shrimp or a taqueria, which was fine, but not what we had anticipated. McDonald's had coffee since our place wasn't furnished with any. There are grocery stores nearby, so that's where we got some food. Everything shuts down around 9. The management was responsive to the complaints we had of the children, but you're pretty much at the mercy of whomever is staying next to you since it's an intimate setting and thin walls. Oh, and I hope you like roosters being raised in a dilapidated house next door. After another day of failing to find a beach we could swim in, we came home to find a giant sewer cockroach in the bathroom. That was the final straw. We headed to Waikiki and enjoyed sunshine, calm warm waters, and a wonderful dinner out. Yes, it was crowded, but the water made everything better. The windward side is very authentic...very windy and rainy when the other side is not, and sparse as far as eateries go. It just wasn't the honeymoon we imagined. We asked for at least a night refund (we left two nights early) but didn't get a response to that at all.
