Now that we are finished with our renovation, we wanted to let everyone know about our great experience. When other contractors said the project would take close to 6 months or more, Glenn gave us a timeline of 4-5months and would be working solely on our project. This was important to me to find a contractor only focused on my job! That is Glenn! He was right on schedule and we often saw him working at the house on weekends! He was able to obtain permits very quickly and get things done when they needed to be. Glenn included us on every decision and treated our home like It was his own from start to finish. He was very professional and easy to work with and all the subcontractors and my interior designer thought so too! He made himself available late at night and weekends to answer any questions we had. And; even though he is "done" with the house, I am confident when/if any issue arises, he will he right on top of it! I still talk to him often as am learning the ins and outs of my house (pregnant and during the pandemic). I hired Holly Rickert to design a new kitchen, 4 bathrooms and a powder room for my home that was…read moreundergoing a full renovation. She looks trusting enough but have you ever heard the expression 'don't judge a book by it's cover'? The job was a disaster. Holly Rickert made many mistakes. Her kitchen design was horrible. The overhead cabinets were too big with their corners hanging dead center over the middle of sink on one side and the middle of the stove top on the other. One person cut their head so bad doing dishes that she needed stitches. Only one side of the stove top could be used lest you set fire to the overhead cabinet if you used the other. She finally replaced them with less bulky cabinets but they still looked awkward because the design was terrible. I wanted modern floating vanities in the bathrooms and powder room. They were spec'd at 20" deep. What arrived were standard 24" deep kitchen base cabinets made shorter. They hang awkwardly and look terrible. When confronted about it, Holly's response was, "what do you want me to do about it, I can't afford to fix it!" If you still hire her after hearing all of this, PLEASE watch your bill very carefully. She has an interesting way of doing all of her calculations with paper and pencil so it's ever changing. When she told me I owed thousands more than we agreed to, it took me a couple of days to go through each invoice (they're all separate to confuse you) and quotes to create a spreadsheet that showed the true balance. You can't argue with basic math - it always tells the truth. She wasn't happy but had no defense.

Last year, we had a ceiling leak in our kitchen (overflow from the upstairs shower) that left a…read morefairly large hole and had Pachi do the repair and paint the ceiling. He did such a fantastic job that, when we planned our addition in the months before the pandemic, we got a bid from Pachi. Once we gave him the go, he took care of everything from engaging our architect on the design to kicking off the permitting process. Then the pandemic ground everything to a halt for a few months. Once things opened up, Pachi worked with the Village on each of their questions and got started as soon as things cleared. He was able to reuse our windows and screen to cut down on some expense and honored every aspect of his bid despite a truly massive spike in lumber prices. He managed all the subs who were each highly professional and did a great job. We took the opportunity to level the backyard and put in a small retaining wall to improve water flow during heavy rain (a problem in the past), redid our patio, and updated the front steps and walk. Throughout each step, Pachi keep things moving and kept us informed. When we had questions, he was just a text message away. As you can see, the room came out beautifully. The whole house feels larger and moving the garage door out of our family room not only made the existing room more balanced but it also gave us more space in the garage and a small mud room. We absolutely love the new space. As the construction occurred in during the summer of COVID, he limited traffic in and out of the house to only the minimum and everyone was always masked. He even took extra care to ensure our cats that were in the house throughout the construction stayed safe. Pachi and his team did what they could to keep the dust to a minimum and covered everything but it's hard to work on this size construction without making things a mess, so he brought in a team at the end to clean the whole house and return things to normal. The backyard will take a little while for the new grass to grow but we are looking forward to enjoying our new space this spring. I know "Perfect Painting" isn't the first name you will think of when selecting a general contractor for a large construction project but he was absolutely fantastic and we couldn't be happier.

He did all the work by himself which took a lot longer than we hoped. The only other downside was he didn't clean up a lot of the old hardware/nails before he installed the new deck. Plus a lot fell into our river rock beds. Other than that he did a great job. I would recommend him just understand it may take a bit longer if he's working by himself.
