They were very clear about price and timing differences and there was never any pressure to chose a more expensive option. We chose a non-custom option and are delighted with the outcome. My case involves just that. I bought vinyl plank flooring. (900 sq ft). The employee said that vapor barrier was not required because the planks has its own barrier built into it. Installed the flooring and eights months later, the planks began to cup. Took pics, contacted the manufacture. They sent out a rep. to inspect. Claim results stated not a manufacture issue. Went back to the issuing store, showed pics again to them, file a claim with the store itself. Later finding out the employee that sold the product was fired. Now the store will not stand by my problem because they can't contact the fired employee.
