I hired Atlas Kitchen & Bath to remove a tub/shower combo and install a walk-in shower, along with a kitchen backsplash. I chose them based on reviews and the desire to support a local business. The estimate process started off a bit awkward -- the estimator (TK) arrived significantly earlier than scheduled while I was working from home. He gave a reasonable quote and said the price could vary depending on tile choice. He mentioned the shower door and head installation were included, but didn't clarify the hardware wasn't. That became a surprise \$2,000 extra later. The showroom experience was mixed. The staff were patient as I tried multiple samples, but when I asked if they had a visualizer app or site, I was told no -- only to later discover the tile manufacturer *did* have one, which they acknowledged after the fact. Why not share that upfront? Once I made my selections, I returned to get a final price, expecting a reduction since I chose less expensive tile. Instead, the price stayed the same due to "more complex shower floor tile." I took the weekend to think it over and then decided to proceed. That's when I learned -- for the first time -- that they only accept cash. I had to confirm multiple times. It was off-putting and almost made me cancel the project. When I asked again during contract signing if I could pay by credit card, I was told they had been "screwed over" in the past. That didn't sit well, since there's no protection for me as a customer if things went wrong -- but I reluctantly moved forward. Scheduling was not proactive. I was simply *informed* on a Friday that they'd be starting the following Tuesday -- no actual appointment made. The two installers were nice and respectful, though often worked late into the evening or arrived late despite saying they'd come early. As the shower was nearly finished, I was asked about the curb top. I had no idea what that meant -- they'd told me they would choose a complementary option. Apparently, nothing had been ordered. I ended up finding something myself at Lowe's that they installed. When the work was declared complete, one of the installers said, "I need lunch" and left -- without completing a walkthrough. Upon inspection, I noticed unfinished drywall/paint, nicks in the wall, a shower door that didn't fully close, scratched tile, and some damage to items in my garage. When I reached out, I was told I should've addressed it when they were here -- but I wasn't given that chance. One of the installers returned unexpectedly the next day while I was on a work call. He fixed a few issues but left others undone. When I followed up again, they said someone named Ozzy would come inspect. He's praised in other reviews, but I hadn't met him. When Ozzy arrived, the first thing he said was "I'm here for the check." I asked if he was here to inspect, and he said no. After I explained the outstanding issues, he offered to deduct \$150 for the damaged items in the garage -- then asked if he could *have* them. I was so frustrated by that point, I just gave them to him along with the check. Both the shower and backsplash look good overall, but the experience was far from smooth or customer-focused. I'm still repainting my walls and living with scratched tile. If I could do it over again, I wouldn't choose Atlas. If you're considering them, I hope my experience helps you make an informed decision.

Most of the installation went well except for a quartz counter seam that was discolorated and appeared to be from a different shade # and skew than the rest of the quartz we had paid for. Most concerning was the discoluration seam was highly noticeable and was located right in front of the counter island stool area. When i asked Jeffrey why he had ordered a different slab shade he denied it was a different. I took a photo of the shade number beneah the slab and sent it to him, but he did nothing to remedy this issue. In addition at the beginning, i asked Jeffrey to book match the quartz installation, but he did not install it book matched. We paid good money for the workmanship but. So, I eventually took delivery of the new glass. It looks like someone cut it with a darned jigsaw. There is little point in complaining as Tri-City glass made it clear they can't do the job...their sub-contractor is definitely sub-par and has not done this strong business any favors.

He just moved here from CALIF where he also had his own business, and it is clear from his work that he is a professional with a lot of experience. I moved to Jonesborough a year ago and have had a lot of heartburn with contractors of all sorts. Joseph was organized and professional from the get-go. He is the ONLY contractor who sent me his license and bonding information without me having to ask for it, and his itemized estimate was the most polished and explanatory that I have seen yet in this area. He also asked for an after-action report for feedback on his work. Who does that? I will definitely be hiring him again. He moved a door from one wall to another and closed off the pocket door opening. He matched the trim around the new door identically to the trim around the other doors- all hand-cut on site. Same with the baseboards, which were different in different rooms. He also patched a ceiling sag from water damage that was right up against custom kitchen cabinets. Two other contractors I had asked for an estimate told me that the cabinets would have to be torn out. Nope! Joseph fixed the sag, found a ceiling beam under the sag that had cracked and REPAIRED THAT TOO, and evened off the ceiling along the top of the cabinets perfectly. He even got that half-popcorn corrugated ceiling texture to match. What is more, he was very considerate of my time and of the house. He covered everything to prevent dust and dirt from migrating, enclosed my kitchen in a neat little tent (that I still had access to after hours so that I could cook) and cleaned up thoroughly after every day. I always knew when he would be here and he kept me abreast of any changes or questions. I actually learned a lot from him. He gave me free evaluations of the shower work that a tile company was doing in the house- to let me know the quality of the workmanship. He knows tile too, and was able to place the floor tile at the base of the new door to appropriately match the existing tile. Super quality work! What is more, he is trustworthy, and I felt comfortable giving him a house key so that he could come and go if I was not able to be there. The whole job was done in less time than we had projected and I am extremely happy with the results. He also hires great workers- Sterling is also highly skilled and meticulous, and Greyson is learning these skills as an apprentice. I'm ex-military and have pretty high standards. I also don't write reviews in general, unless someone is really good or really dangerous. Do-it-right lives up to its name- you can tell that it is Joseph's motto. He ensures that work is done to standard and in accordance with regulations. You won't be disappointed! 1 Dec 2023.

We were given a 4 week time frame for completion, but it was a full 10 weeks before the counters were ready to install with no word from Preston or Home Depot about the delay. Unfortunately, the original template was done incorrectly and the stone cut incorrectly. The seams on the upbar and lower counter did not match, nor did either one match the corners on the wall. Nevertheless, the installation crew spent a full day installing it and tried to pass it off as acceptable. We immediately contacted Home Depot who then contacted Preston to fix the problem. It was several days with no contact from Preston. We tried to contact the manager of the stone department, but never did hear from anyone from Preston until they sent the owner of the installation company and someone to re-template. The templater pointed out significant errors in the original template and criticized the installation crew for knowingly installing an improperly cut stone, yet they sent the same company out for the second install. It was another 7 weeks after the original installation before the counters were re-done for a total of 4 months. Not once during the entire 4 months did ANYONE from Preston management contact us, even after multiple emails voicing our complaints with the quality of work and the extended delays. The second round produced a barely acceptable final cutting with a sloppy installation of the sink (glue seeping out from behind the caulking as it dried) which my husband had to repair. We tried to pursue a discount to compensate for the extended delays, poor quality work, and multiple days off from work to deal with correcting the problem, but again we got NO response. Home Depot finally was able to get them to agree to an insulting $300 discount, which amounted to less than 10% of what we paid. Take your business elsewhere. This business uses incompetent crews and there is no customer service to fix their sloppy work.

A year here showed us that the 'luxury' label is only in the marketing. After living here for a year, I feel it's important to share an honest perspective for anyone considering moving in. Unfortunately, the experience has not been what we expected, and it has been more disappointing than anything else............. The apartment had issues from day one (leaks, broken fixtures, poor water pressure), and the "luxury" claims don't match reality -- even the "soundproof flooring" doesn't stop you from hearing every detail (at least that's what our conversation with our downstairs neighbor let us know on.... 2 weeks in). Neighbors were nitpicky, and we received constant complaints, even outside of quiet hours, with staff quick to side with them....... For the high price, the atmosphere and quality simply weren't worth it. From the beginning, there were issues inside the unit itself -- the roof leaked when we moved in, the toilet handle was broken and rusted, and the refrigerator is extremely small for the size of the apartment. Water pressure and hot water are both below average, which doesn't fit the "luxury" description advertised. The car wash station, while a nice idea, was closed more often than it was available. The bigger challenge, however, was the overall living environment. Many of the neighbors were very fussy, overbearing, and fault-finding; we often received unreasonable complaints -- at times being accused of things we didn't do (by the police officer they have on-site) simply because of our age..... (we are young adults 28-31)' The clubhouse staff frequently relayed these complaints through early morning emails, which became draining over time. On top of that, our downstairs neighbor would regularly message us about "noise" even though it was outside of quiet hours. The complex advertises "luxury living with soundproof flooring," but in reality, you can hear nearly every detail from daily life, which made things uncomfortable and frustrating. Instead of fostering a welcoming community, the focus often seemed to lean toward appeasing those who complain the loudest... We've lived in several apartment complexes in the past, and unfortunately this has been the most difficult experience in terms of neighborly behavior and overall atmosphere, with subpar appliances. It's disappointing, especially given the cost to live here. I don't usually leave reviews, and I'm not writing this out of anger -- only to give future residents a realistic understanding of what to expect. Everyone's experience will be different, but this was ours, and I hope it helps others make a more informed decision.
