Our installer HARRY arrived exactly on time (I have yet to have anyone show up on time and he was the first) and asked a few questions and went right to work. He verified everything he was doing and started working. Any questions I had he answered and said "no problem take as many as you want" when I started to take pictures. After getting quotes from various firms around town, we met with Bath Fitters. We found their product to be similar to the others at half the cost. No matter what other shower and tub replacement companies you check out, don't make a decision until you talk to these guys. Our 2 bathrooms were changed out by a one man show named Harry. He was promptly here at 8 am and he worked non-stop for 3 days. He came properly supplied with everything he'd need, was friendly, informative and efficient. We waited over 3 months for the installation of a very good shower enclosure. However, when they glue holding a faucet failed, we had to schedule a time a week later for them to come and fix it. They never showed up for the appointment and after numerous calls and hours later we learned that we would have to wait another week because their technician wasn't at work that day. Despite the errors were entirely their fault the customer service person got rude. I asked to speak with the owner and was told he's on vacation and may or may not return my call. Wonderful product but horrible service. They were unwilling to do anything to rectify their error. read more

BATH FITTER of Clearwater was supposed to take my tub out and make it just a shower. Day and a half job. Installer came Dec 14 and demolished the tub and left. Installer came back Dec 15 and I asked him what my Fawcett fixture was made of, and he told me brushed nickel. I told him I was having chrome fixtures and he suggested to have the brushed nickel and I told him to change. He called office and they had in stock and I'm paying additional money. He was doing some plumbing work and think he put some of the wall up and left. He came back Friday 12/16 and put bottom of shower put down. Installer brought seat in that I ordered and put it in place and said it's really for a bigger shower and he said they have pull down chairs, so I changed it. Was more money. Also said I would have to wait until January for seat-no problem and the installer said they would finish and come back and put seat in. Installer came back on the 19 to finish, and he put showed head on and left. I called and left several v/m and finally said they would come back 12/27, no call, no show. The shower was advertised as non-slip. However, I've slipped twice and slid off the seat numerous times. I've tried many bath mats but because of the textured floor; the sinction will not hold. I finally had to put adhesive textured non-slip 'stickers' on the floor and seat. the safety bar has come in handy more than once! Unfortunately, I'm not as pleased as I hoped to be. read more

I had Bathfitter replace my tub and shower enclosure and now the frame has some paint peeling. I have been very careful to clean with only products listed by Bathfitter. I called the local Bathfitter franchise which said it would replace the defective frame but would charge $80 per hour for labor because the installation was more than 5 years old. THAT labor charge is not indicated on the warranty card given me at time of purchase. The language there is " We warrant that each Bathfitter bathtub, bathtub liner, shower base, bath wall, shower wall and ceiling will be free of defects for as long as you own your home. We will repair or replace any defective unite at our discretion at no charge." This is an example of bait and switch. Bathfitter was happy to take my money promising lifetime warranty but in actuality "no charge" is a lie. read more

Our experience with Bath Fitter of Clearwater was top notch from start to finish. Everyone we dealt with was super nice and very efficient. Our order came in sooner than expected and was installed very quickly. We had two bathrooms done on the same day (one tub and one tub-to-shower conversion) and the two installers were through with both early in the afternoon. Everything was left in spotless condition. Update -- The representative from Bath Fitters came and stated that there were significant issues. I have taken pictures below. Although not pictured, the drain hole is not aligned so it is also causing leakage. In addition, the "floor" of shower "pops" because it is not sealed/aligned properly. When the representative went back, I did not hear back from the company. Once I contacted them again, the manager stated the rep said this (which is pictured) below was not that bad. He also stated that he would make anything right if there was something. But, based on lack of communication, not following up, not standing behind contract, I definitely do not trust the company to uphold a promise or fix their mess. On Jul 10th, we had a sales rep come see us, gave us a quote, and we signed a contract for a shower stall refit. She took measurements, and told us we could expect a tech to begin the installation in 2-3 weeks., On Aug 3rd the tech came and ripped out the old shower stall. Only then did he realize that they had ordered the wrong size shower base. He told us that it would take about three weeks to get the correct size from the factory in Canada. So no shower available to use. On Sept 2nd, the tech returned with the correct base, and installed the base and surround. He told us it would take about two weeks to get the glass in to finish the installation. So still, no shower. On Sept 23rd, we were called and were told the glass was in, but could not get an appointment to have it installed until 10 days later.. So, another month went by. On Oct 2nd, the tech returned and finished the installation of the glass. Therefore, we were without use of this shower for a total of 8 weeks. I contacted the dealership and requested a discount equivalent to 15% of the total price as compensation for out inconvenience and loss of use, The owner/ manager flatly refused and only offered us a discount that equaled 7% of the total price. I considered this an insult. I. attempted to contact the corporate headquarters a total of 4 times. No one would respond to my emails, or talk to me on the phone. No one would return messages left. The product we got is satisfactory, and the tech did a great job of installation. However, I would recommend you using a different dealership than the Clearwater, Fl one if you want a timely job done. Have had the worst experience ever with this company. From the delay of installation, to the twice extended delay of material and finally now trying to book an appointment to fix a towel rack that fell off the wall after only up 2 weeks, they waited until the last minute to tell me they have no one available for 3 more weeks to do a repair that shouldn't take more then 5 minutes. it took 2 month until they were to schedule our bathroom work......the one day job turned into 4 days with out a shower or tub.....terrible customer service and worse service !! The one woman laughed when we told her our story about the miserable service we received......I requested to have a return phone call from a supervisor on 2 separate occasions and never received the courtesy of a reply...... The tech shows up to start the job , but not the plumber.......they scheduled the tech two jobs that day and had to leave our job incomplete ......the plumber never showed until 7 hours later ..when the tech showed up approx. 2 the next afternoon he could not complete because the plumbing leaked....... then the plumber never showed until 5 30 the next day to repair the mistakes made from the past 3 days...... I love, love, love my new shower! Bath Fitter covers the old crummy tile with no demo! It's exactly what I wanted, and Brandon did a fabulous install job. He was here at 8am and it was perfectly installed and all debris cleared away by 4pm. He left my bath cleaner than when he started, and the new shower is flawless. I'm very happy. The only reason for 4 stars is that I think it's a bit pricey, and they had no additional discounts for seniors or disabled. When it came to The salesman making the sale he was all promises and assured me that the job would be done as expected. The Friday afternoon before installation day which was to be that Monday I received a confirmation call that installers would arrive between 8:30 and 9:00am. Monday morning I had bathroom ready to go and at 8:30am I received a call from the company that my installation had been canceled. I was told that the new tub was damaged. I asked what the new installation date would be and I was told that they wound get back to me later in the day. They did not. The next morning I call Bath Fitter again to follow up and find out when I could expect installation. I also told the woman whom I spoke with that I expected a 20% discount due to the inconvenience. She told me that she would speak with her team and get back to me. After 48 with still no response I contacted my credit card company and disputed the charge for deposit given. I also disputed the pending charge of $5000 to be billed to my home improvement card. I further emailed the person that I spoke with last at Bath Fitter and told her that I am canceling my contract with her company and that I have disputed all charges. I also indicated that I expect a refund of the $605 deposit I gave to her company. As of now while writing this review, I still have not heard back from anyone at Bath Fitter of Clearwater. I waited 2 months from the time the salesman left with my $1500.00 deposit till they finally came and installed the shower surround. I actually love the gleaming white surround but the cheap hand held shower and hose that cost me $95.00 is dark brown and looks horrible ! I called repeatedly and was put on voice mail till finally someone returned my call and was not at all helpful or even nice. I was told that that's the way they do it and I had to put up with the terrible ugly hose and hand held shower head that also leaked . I will never recommend them to anyone. I have lived and owned my home for 10 years now. I can honestly say this was one of the worst experiences I have ever had with a company. I can say they fooled me. I am generally a person who saves money, but I do my research and when it involves my home, family, or child, I do not always allow cost to sway my decision. That being said, this appeared to be the best option for what I wanted completed taking into account time, price, reviews, and comparing their product to 4-5 other companies. I can say I made the WRONG decision this time. First and foremost, Deborah Hinson, a Sales Consultant, came to our house, discussed the products, provided samples, and a written contract. I looked at reviews, and it seemed alright. I contracted with them a couple weeks later, and paid the deposit of $1350. They were supposed to place a chemical on the existing tile in the shower, measure the shower, and create a liner to fit over the existing shower. They came, measured the shower, and ordered the liner. After they measured everything, they ordered the liner and stated it would take 1-2 weeks to come in. About 3-4 weeks later, no one had called to give me an update. This was the first sign of unprofessionalism that would continue. Once they received the deposit, they did not follow through. I had to call to inquire about when the install would occur. They stated that they were behind due to Memorial Day holidays. A phone call would have been nice. When they finally returned my call, they stated at that time they only work between 7-5, which would have been something they should have mentioned at the beginning as we are a working family (my husband and I both work the typical 9-5 and we have a son). I made arrangements for my father to come while they installed everything. They gave me instructions not to use my shower 48 hours before install and that was all they needed. Two days before the scheduled install was the beginning of a semi-disaster and the continuation of unprofessionalism. Two days before the install, I received a call from a plumber calling on "behalf" of Bath Fitters stating they wanted to book a time to come out the day before the install (during working hours) to do the plumbing portion. I was not provided any of this information from Bath Fitters. The call from the plumber was the first time I heard about anything related to this. I was previously told the liner install would all be completed in 1 day. The day of the install was a complete disaster. I was able to get the plumber to come the same day as Bath Fitter. The plumber showed up tardy, and Bath Fitters came nearly 2 hours late and were unprepared for the install. They did not call myself or my father to let us know they would be late. When they did arrive, they sent 1 man (single person) to do such a big job. I am assuming they were cutting costs although I would be paying about $4500 for the complete job (not a small penny). I guess my money and business means absolutely nothing. That being said, the installer looked at my father to "help" him hold some materials. My 70-year old father is not an installer for your company. The gentleman did not call for back-up and ended up putting a small hole in the wall next to my garden tub and chipping some of the tile on my garden tub (when he was trying to take off the old shower door and place it somewhere). My father saw the hole and chipped tiles and the gentleman did not mention anything about the damage. He was trying a "no tell, no fault." Of course, when I and my husband got home, I was very upset they had damaged my bathroom and garden tub area when they were only re-doing the shower. At that point, after the installer had done the damage, he then decided to "call for back-up." I was outraged they sent 1 person to do a clear 2-person job, and the installer was not going to initially acknowledge the damage he had done. Because Bath Fitter sent 1 person to do a 2 person job initially, once back up arrived, the installers were there another 3 hours after they were supposed to be finished. After looking at the work, it was sub-par for a "legitimate" company. The lines were not seamless and it looked like amateur work. I have uploaded picture of how the shower was not smoothly installed. The next day, I had to call Bath Fitter. They did not call me at all about the damage or make any acknowledgement. When I called, they seemed surprised I called. The customer service representative Donald Moore stated he needed to "investigate," and he would call me back. He called me back the next day and stated that he was sorry for the issue. He then proceeded to ask me what I wanted him to do. After I stated the damages must be fixed, he asked me how? Excuse me!!! Am I a contractor? Is that not your job and what your company "stands behind?" As a result, he asked me to research companies for wall and garden tub repairs.
