The sales guy was spot-on with his decorating advice: he gently nudged us away from unusual colours towards a contemporary white tile pattern, very subtle, with polished chrome trim and bronze hardware. Ultra modern "big" adjustable dual shower heads. We added our own custom nooks and crannies sunk into the walls for storing shampoo, shaving gear and soap. The white vinyl surfaces are glossy, yet soft and easy on the eyes and on the skin because there are no no hard edges anywhere. Everything is smooth and soft. Non-slip floor surface is built right in. Totally body-friendly. You wanna have a DELUXE shower? You want it Right Now? I'd recommend Bath Fitters. They're a class act from beginning to end! ** Caution to anyone considering Bath Fitter, Burnaby, BC ** After entering into a contract with this company, I attempted to cancel and request the return of my $2,000 deposit. Under BC's Business Practices and Consumer Protection Act, consumers have the right to cancel within one year if key information is missing from a contract, or within 10 days of receiving a copy of the contract if it was not provided at signing. Both apply in my case. I did not receive a copy of the contract until the day I attempted to cancel! Had I been made aware of Bath Fitter's refund and cancellation policy at the time of signing, I likely would not have provided a deposit at all. Their failure to disclose this information not only denied me the opportunity to make an informed decision but also directly contravenes consumer protection standards in BC. Despite this, Bath Fitter has refused to return my deposit. The manager of the local branch has never contacted me directly, instead delegating all communication to administrative coordinators, which I find unacceptable given the seriousness of the situation. I have since escalated this to Bath Fitter's head office and filed a formal complaint with Consumer Protection BC. Additionally, I have raised concerns about the validity of the contract itself, as both signatures on the document appear identical. I also never released my initials or provided permission to use them, yet they appear on the contract. My experience with Bath Fitter has been dismissive, unprofessional and in clear disregard of consumer rights under BC law. I would strongly advise others to exercise caution before signing any agreement with this company. read more

Bath Fitter was supposed to install a bathtub for me. They came, took off the glass doors and shower head fixture, and then realized that the bathtub was the wrong size. They were supposed to reorder the correct size bathtub, but instead, they showed up a month later with the exact same tub. Their plan was to add several inches to the wall in order to make the bathtub fit, which would have resulted in a loss of space in my bathroom. They would have also needed to build up the floor, which may have impeded my ability to even get into the bathtub because I'm disabled. Last but not least, the moving of the wall would have resulted in my rainfall shower head being several inches off center so I might have been able to wash my right shoulder while standing under it, so they planned to break my freshly painted ceiling and move the shower head. Obviously I said no. The installer told me in his notes it said I had approved this scope of work, which I hadn't even been told about, so thank goodness he double checked with me. I told them they would need to restore my bathroom to its original condition. They offered to replace my frameless, modern shower doors with a cheap sliding door with a bulky frame and plastic looking glass that looked straight out of 1992. I told them that would drastically reduce my resale value, and said that wouldn't be sufficient. Several weeks passed, and they sent me a cropped screenshot of a quote, which contained the door and hardware they planned to install in my bathroom. They took no measurements, but somehow knew that my door needed the cheapest possible hardware. Right. They also ordered an oversized hinge, which led me to believe they planned to drill more holes into the tiles and simply cover up the damage. They refused to guarantee no further holes would be drilled, so I hired a company that could do the work properly. In addition to the nightmare with the glass door replacement, they broke the shower head fixture, and their plan was to simply glue a replacement face plate back onto it. Needless to say, there was much more involved to the repair, and it cost me almost $900. They didn't even offer to come over and diagnose it properly, so I'm very glad I had it repaired properly. They did thousands of dollars worth of damage to my home, didn't provide the service they said they would, and then tried to replace my very nice bathroom parts with much cheaper ones, or simply cover up the damage. We recently had Bathfitters Burnaby BC do a bathtub to walkin shower conversion The workers who installed the product were very good to deal with very professional that was not the issue that we had. the real issue was the Salesman over promised and under delivered. on the product. we were promised the new shower base would cover the old tubs grout lines, we were also told the tiles would go all the way to the ceiling neither of these promises came to fruition They then sent the wrong shower doors which delayed the project further Our frustration was with the salesmans promises and how the Office Staff dealt with our issues. From the very first consultation with the lovely Lindsay through to the extremely professional install with mighty Mikhail my experience with Bath Fitters was nothing less than excellent. Lindsay did an extraordinary job of building a good connection with my wife and me and determining exactly what our needs were within our budget, helping us in making the right selection of features that would work best. Then, when the time came for the install Mikhail showed up exactly when he was expected and finished the job in a much shorter time than I anticipated (which was a bonus). He did a great job of cleaning up and making sure our home looked like he was never even there. The finished product is spectacular (we had an old 1970s tub and tile job that badly needed updating) and our new bathroom reno is now complete. Snap put lien on your property without your knowledge and Bathfitter did not even disclosed this info to me when u sign up. I went through hell dealing with SNAP when renewing my mortgage. I am very concerned about other people going through what I have with Bathfitter. Rob from Bathfitter came to my home at the end of April this year. The cost of everything I chose came to just over $5000. I paid a deposit of $769 for my one day install to take place. Eventually it was scheduled for June 3. They never called to confirm the install date. I had to call myself to make sure they were still coming. Rob had told me the water needed to be shut off all day. Apparently it was only required for the morning. Ada, the employee in the shop, advised she had dropped the ball and was supposed to call me to confirm the install. Chino, the installer, was the shining light. He did a great job of getting the walls installed, but the tub overlay did not fit! No matter what he did, it would not fit. The tub was not the right size and it would eventually crack if installed as is. His boss, Orlando, wanted him to build up the bottom with foam. In doing that, I would lose space in my bathroom. Furthermore, the foam would become malleable when I have a bath, making the overlay moveable. He was unable to install the tub that day. Also, I had paid a premium for fixed brush nickel shower bar, Chino said it wasn't available so he had grabbed me a cheap chrome one that's not fixed, it just sits there with suction, so I could at least put a curtain up. Therefore there 'one day installation claim' is not true. I called Bathfitter and spoke to Orlando to determine what his plans were to make this right. He said I would get a discount between $0-$400 possibly. Rob was booked another day to come to my home. He brought a test overlay which fit better than the one they had brought me. However, that was just a sample, it was extremely beat up and not suitable for install. Chino was booked to come again, which he did. I asked for the refund amount to be in writing. Ada and Orlando were evasive and unwilling to put an amount on paper pending how well the install went. I soon learned why they didn't want to commit to a refund amount. They sent Chino back with the EXACT same tub! Orlando demanding he install it. I measured the tub myself, it was not the right size for my tub at all. I was very disappointed Bathfitter wasted my time again. I explained to Ada via multiple emails that I am a shift worker and I also gave her dates I am available. Since I am a shift worker, I am available a lot during the week. She provided me one date at the beginning of August for the install for 8AM. I finished my night shift at 6AM and I explained that I would be unable to open the door since I would be asleep. I have not heard from Ada since August 6, 2019. I have sent her emails to try to get a hold of her. I am coming up on waiting six months for a supposed one day install that Bathfitter advertises. I want to share my story so no one else hires them thinking it is easy. My second request asking Bathfitter to reply from my email on August 14th where I provided multiple availability dates. I never received an email September 3rd. And if Bruce were to actually look at the date I posted this review originally it was a week ago (before September 11). So yes Bruce, I finally received a response from Bathfitter a month later. Your horrible customer service continues. They are coming back on September 24. Hopefully not with the same tub that didn't fit the last two times. The bathtub that Bath Fitter has installed on top of my original bathtub leaks and the cover they have put on the walls is getting loose and falling apart. The "Lifetime Warranty" DOES NOT EXIST. It is definitely a wrong idea to cover the bathtub and tiles with covers like these. If your bathtub or tiles are old and shabby, and you want to make them look nice and new, you should either have them refinished (not covered) or totally renovated. However, this solution that Bath Fitter provides is good for nothing and just wastes your money. read more

When you call Bath Fitter they answer the phone by saying " how may I make you smile today? " I'd rather get a recording saying they're no longer in business. Luckily I didn't get into a contract with them. They don't honour their advertised special deals or return phone calls.I can tell you they're good at hanging the phone up on you. I'd hate to think what I could have experienced if I had let them do work in my home after reading all the issues on other work they performed. Think twice about dealing with Bath Fitter before you sign a contract or even worse give them your money. Spend a little more money and get a real remodeled bathroom instead of using bandages to fix the problem. read more

Bath Fitter: Seriously disappointing. We met their sales guy and went for it. Well when I say "went for it", it wasn't that fast since we waited for months for them to get in touch with us to confirm an actual day. When someone finally did arrive to do the work it must have been his first time doing a job. There was a senior guy there and he may have been able to help, but he talked on his phone the whole time. The result is that the faucet was leaky, the slope of the tub causes it to drain slowly and water gets stuck in a pool at the end of the tub opposite the drain. In summary, the quality of the goods was fine, but the quality of the installation was poor. read more

Originally I ordered (and left a $500.00 deposit) for my bathroom remodel on October 6, 2009. After my stopping in the showroom twice, 13 phone calls, one failed attempt at installation and many excuses, I finally had the remodel done on January 27, 2010, over 4 months later. I tolerated this delay because my deposit had long since been deposited and the fact that there was a "Lifetime Warranty", which it turns out, is not worth the paper it is printed on. I will skip over the work that needed to be done in 2011 and 2013 and go directly to my most recent experience. On November 1, 2017 I stopped by the showroom on Glenlyon Parkway in Burnaby and advised them of several issues that needed addressing. Because I had a preference that Chino do my work, I was told that I had to wait until December 8, 2017 between 1 PM and 3 PM and I was fine with this. On December 6, 2017 I stopped by the showroom again as I had noticed a crack in the corner unit and I wanted to make sure that Chino had the parts on his truck. No one called or came on December 8, 2017 between 1 and 3 PM so I phoned and Chino came at 4 PM but did not do any work. He took pictures and said he had to order parts and would re-book the job allowing 3 hours time. I waited 7 weeks and did not hear anything so I called them January 26, 2018 as well as February 2nd, 9th, 16th and 17th only to be given a number of excuses from William: "Chino was off sick", "The person booking the appointment quit their job without notice", "I couldn't find your phone number", "I was too busy to call you back" and my favourite, "Oh, I thought this was already taken care of". Finally on February 20th at 2 PM, Jordan called to say my part was in and that she could send Chino out the following morning and Chino came at 7:35 AM on February 21st. So now the work is done and it looks awful! The corner unit is beige instead of white marble and the brass overflow cover is the wrong size and too dark in colour. I phoned and advised William of this on February 23rd and he said he would have his manager, Orlando, call me right back; he did not. I called again on February 28th at 10 AM and left a message which was not returned and again at 1 PM and spoke with William again. This time he assured me my call would be returned later this day or tomorrow; it was not. I called again March 2nd and finally was transferred to Orlando. He told me that the brass had been discontinued 2 years ago so he thought the parts he sent were the next best thing and would be okay. He is sending Chino out to reinstall the old (damaged) brass parts and is also sending out a new corner unit that matches. Jordan will call to book the appointment for March 5th or 6th. I did not get the promised call back from Jordan so I called her again on March 9th and she said she would send Chino out on Tuesday, March 13th between 8 and 9 AM. I also asked Jordan what was going to be done about the crack at the bottom front of the tub and she said that a 3rd party named Dave does that work and she will email him and I should hear back from him in a day or so. Chino came out on March 13th as promised and reinstalled the old hardware and a new corner unit. The corner unit is still the wrong colour and looks old and dirty. Chino took a picture of it and said he was giving it to Orlando. It is now 4 weeks later and no one has followed up. In this process since November 1, 2017, I have stopped by the showroom twice, had someone come out to my house 3 times and communicated by phone 12 times. The work is ugly and incomplete and I have been lied to repeatedly. The brass is not discontinued because I ordered it from Norfolk Plumbing and purchased it for $35.73, the corner unit is an eyesore and I have no idea what to do about that and no one has called to fix the crack at the bottom front of the tub. Sorry this is so long but I hope it saves someone from the aggravation and disappointment that I have been through. DO NOT HIRE BATHFITTER'S thinking they will honour their Lifetime Warranty. My experience from the beginning to end was professional and honest. If your looking to complete your venture cheap? It won't happen. Bath fitters is great, but you will pay for their qaulity of product and install. If you want cheap go in the internet and take your chances? Not everyone has several thousand dollars hanging around to do a total tub to shower conversation. My experiance was great. 100 year old house bathtub to shower conversion for 2 Senior Citizens. The salesman (Patrick) did a wonderful job setting the expectation for us and getting things started. The office scheduler Ada was very poor on customer service and responsiveness. She scheduled our project for 1 day installation (Friday) even though we were told it would take 2 to 2.5 days. She insisted that was all that was needed to remove a cast iron tub and install shower. 2 days prior to installation, she made contact to ask to begin next day thus giving the installation team 2 days to complete work. The actual time it took for them to install was 2.75 days. Chino the installer was extremely hard working and came in on his day off to complete the work. We really appreciate that but somehow feel that the office (Ada) dropped the ball with understanding how much time the project would take. I don't think she knows whats involved and has poor customer service skills in general (not returning phone messages). The client facing folks such as Sales and Installer were excellent. read more

We had an installation done in the summer of 2015. When the sales guy came to my house he had no issues taking my money and letting me know who great of a company it was and if there was ever any issue that they would take care of it. Fast forward to February 2016...I called the company and told them that there was an issue with my tub installation (it was popping up and I could tell that it was filling with water. I was told that I could still use the tub and that they couldn't get ANY one in until April 8. I noticed that the problem was getting worse and called the company again (2 complaints and still nothing). A week before April 8, I get a call in and now I'm being told that I guess "the ONLY technician they have was going on maternity leave" and now I had to wait an additional 2 weeks for someone to come and look at the tub. Finally someone came yesterday (April 19) and I'm being told that the original installation was done improper and that he would have to order a new tub because it was cut wrong and that's why it was taking on water underneath. 10 minutes later the technician (very nice guy) comes in and tells me that they are "out of stock" and that he doesn't know how long it's going to take for them to get a new tub in. He took pictures and was going to talk to his manager because he could expedite the order. I left an email message April 19 for "the manager - ORLANDO NEVES" to call me back (which I have yet to receive). Today (April 20) I get a phone call telling me that THEY WILL NOT EXPEDITE THE ORDER OF MY TUB. I WILL HAVE TO WAIT 2 WEEKS FOR THE NEW TUB TO COME IN AND THAT IT WILL TAKE 1 FULL DAY TO INSTALL THE TUB...My favorite part was when I was told that someone will be at my house between 12pm - 1pm for my FULL day of installation. I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND ANYONE TO DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY. THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE IS AWFUL. Well to be honest with every one , sales after service really stinks , only Lindsey was OK at the time of making sales and after that she also ignored my repeated request to speak to me , do not understand a company of this size has no customer relationship. For your (customer to be) information make sure that all your questions are written by a salesperson no matter how small no verbal agreement. What installer tells you verbally please ask him to give you in writing as simple as how to clean and name of what cleaner should you be using. We are both handicap people and always have difficulty to maintain and keep the shower clean as we keep our place very neat and tidy and like to keep it that way. The sales rep said it would be 6-8 weeks and when that period of time came and went, I called the Burnaby location which is 2 kms from me and they told me the sales rep was wrong and it was 8-10 weeks. The girl on the phone said my material would be in in about 2 weeks at the latest, then that 2 weeks came and went,so i called and the girl said 1 week and now that week has come and gone. The purpose of this is to get my bathroom into a useable condition for my guests at christmas - its the only bathroom we have (we bought the condo with the bathroom in bad shape and decided to reno). Really disgusted with this business of them stringing me along - Im about to demand my deposit back - theyve been holding this $$ since October and its now almost Christmas. My experience was a disaster! What began on January 11th with my expectation of having a new bath completely installed "the same day" (as advertized), turned into a nightmare. The wrong measurments were taken originally, hence a further delay resulted, which left me waiting for the correct sized tub. February 2nd, I finally had the job completed! This hardly meets the promises of Bath Fitter's promised TV advert. Trying to get this matter resolved also required a great deal of patience and persistence, on my part. Finally, two months later, in April, I received a minimal refund by mail, which was the result of my suggesting my next step would be to approach the CBC program "Go Public." BBB were seriously limited in their ability to resolve this awful experience! read more

I would give this zero stars if I could and I did not even get past the quoting stage with our sales person. When I initially called bath fitter to arrange for a sales person to come by and give a quote I made it clear that I was still looking around for other quotes for a full bathroom reno. I would not be signing that day. Our sales person came by on time which was great however the appointment took over 1hr and 20 min just for him to give a spiel on materials when I made it clear I just needed a quote and I had to get back to work. I offered the salesperson water about 5 min after he stepped in and he said he was surprised that it took so long to offer him a beverage! Finally we got to arranging a quote and when we told him we would not need him to measure that day he actually became upset. I had made it clear that I was not interested in signing that day, that we were eager to start our renos just not that day. He replied that if we were really serious we would have signed right then and there. Both my husband and I found him to be rude, pretentious, pushy and overall incredibly unpleasant to be around. We didn't even make it to the estimate. The person I originally spoke with booked our estimate for 7am, however the day before their office called and said it was at 7pm. Which was fine we changed our schedule to accomodate them. At 7:20pm that night the salesman, Rob, called and said he was 50 minutes away. I was already unimpressed and said I didn't want to reschedule right away and that I would call his office if we decided to stick with Bath Fitter, to which he replied that we had not actually bought anything yet. After this experience we won't be buying anything either. I'd be much happier spending the money with a custom bathroom builder who is interested in our business. read more

Had a shower/bathtub installation done. The top edge where the shower wall met the ceiling wasn't properly adhered to the wall so when the silicon sealant dried the edge pulled away leaving a gap. Called in to get it repaired and had to book an appointment at their convenience not mine. All the tech did was apply more silicon. Within a week of it drying the top edge was pulling away again. Now the little corner shelving unit is starting to pull away from the shower wall. They propose to just apply more silicon at a $75/hr and minimum 2 hour service fee. And again the appointment has to be booked at their convenience not mine. I would never use them again. read more

Did a total bathroom reno in 2012 and LOVE my new tub/shower. I especially love the lack of grouting between the faux tiles - so much easier to keep clean. The customization means I could install security bars for my mother and shelving for me - exactly where I want them. I also really love the bowed shower curtain, although you can buy those anywhere. My tub/shower is so pretty now that I no longer hide it behind a closed curtain. Highly recommended. read more

I want to begin by saying that Lindsey, my sales person was knowledgeable, friendly and did a great job. Unfortunately that is where my positive comments end. I was on vacation when the install was done and returned 2 days after. One of the strips down the side of the tub tiling was a different colour than the rest AND the seams didn't join at the corners. I spoke with my contractor, who was renovating the rest of my bathroom and was informed that the installer had used (and destroyed!) one of his sawblades (without even asking) AND had done his work on my living room carpet; leaving particles of metal everywhere! The installers had also broken a glass vase hanging on my wall and had turned it to hide the evidence; not very professional, in my opinion. Bathfitters returned a few weeks later to replace the miscoloured strip and unfortunately ruined my contractor's paint job (I took pictures). I decided, at that time, to sign off anyways, since I don't want anything else ruined if they were to return to 'repair' this. There are also noticeable puddles of water in the bottom of the tub that don't drain. I would have expected this if the cost was low, but it wasn't; I could have had the tub removed and replaced, but was in a time crunch and this method worked the best. The good news is that my bathroom looks great and I won't fret about the small stuff...just wanted to give my warning. read more

We recently moved into a townhouse in Burnaby in which the previous owners had installed a Bath Fitter product (likely in order to sell the place). They left us the information about this installation. We are quite happy with the product in general and currently we are planning a second bathroom renovation and are strongly considering installing Bath Fitter products into the new bathroom. We have noticed, however, that our current Bath Fitter wall has become "unglued" from the wall behind it and is bowing outwards. So, we asked them about how to go about fixing this minor problem. At first they said it shouldn't be a problem since the product is guaranteed, until they realized that we were not the original owners of the product (we just bought the house 8 months ago) and therefore they indicated that the warranty is no longer valid because it is not transferable to new owners. Then we were told that to have someone come to look at the problem it would be a $75 fee and then the fix would also be charged to us. Understandably we are quite dismayed that Bath Fitter would not back-up their product even with original documentation and that the warranty was not transferable to new owners. We find this policy deceptive since people often install Bath Fitter type products to prepare their homes for sale...thus negating the warranty with the sale of their home and releasing Bath Fitter from any guarantees. We renovated our master bed room standing shower. The workman who did the renovation was absolutely amazing. He did fantastic job. The problem was the hand shower start to leak and happened twice not the problem of the installer, but I believe manufacturing defect. The Bath fitter person who is dealing with it is not super friendly. First time fix was fairly shorted. Second time they sent a cheap pipe and the installer determined that it is not the right one and has to get different one. The lady said that it will take three weeks to get the tube (surprised the same tube is available in multiple local shops) and then they will call and schedule a visit. Super disappointed with the support. I don't know what the motto of life time support mean. I would have expected them to do a better customer support. Imagine even though the problem occurred within first year and the support we got. What kind of support would any one will get if the problem happens after few year. I have used Bath Fitter in Ontario, but the support problem I see is only In Vancouver. Hope who ever the manager addresses the support problem. read more
