I am extremely disappointed by the lack of compassion and understanding shown by the employees of the Junction City Dollar Tree today, Sunday, March 7, 2021. My 87 year old mother asked me to take her to Dollar Tree so she could buy me a birthday gift. She doesn't drive and doesn't get out of the house often She has Parkinson's and takes medication for breathing....that makes her need to use the restroom quite unexpectedly at times. When we asked to use the bathroom at Dollar Tree...we were told it's NOT open to the public. Now, had there been another store with an available bathroom nearby....or if my mom could walk fast...this wouldn't have been a problem. But since an "accident" was imminent and my mom was very distressed....and there were no other bathrooms within walking distance...I BEGGED the staff to allow her to use their bathroom (which prior to COVID, was open to guests). I explained her age and health status to them. Staff members got the Manager, who firmly refused to allow my Mom to use their bathroom....even though we were wearing Masks and her distress and age were quite evident. Maybe I'm too compassionate because I'm a nurse. Maybe I'm not being objective because it's my mother who was distressed. I hope the staff at the Dollar Tree in Junction City get the opportunity to experience the distress of being sick, old and asking for help...and not receiving help. TODAY was the LAST time I will ever go into the Dollar Tree in Junction City, Kansas.

This place is a smorgasboard of tchotchkes. There is definitely nothing wrong with that, which is why it is A-OK! Most items are $5 or less. There are candy bins of 4 items for $1 and I got my favorite cow tales, which were surprisingly "fresh" (most of the time when I buy them they are already hardened). There were aisles of party decor, gift wrapping, crafting ideas, beach toys and blankets, exercise equipment, hair accessories and make-up, storage, room decor, and more. It was a bit overwhelming! I laughed to myself at the clearance section which had really cheap t-shirts about Ireland, Shamrocks, and other St. Patty's day things. I figured it would be strange to bring that to Ireland, so I did not get it. I ended up buying a USA floor puzzle with the state flags on it to accompany other parts of my gift, and learned I would be exchanging gifts with the organizer who is in fact from Ireland (the event has 14 countries represented). This was a fun place to peruse and I think it would be great to get ideas for activities with my nieces for our next visit together.

I also purchased the repair warranty they offer. Brand new furniture was delievered with a hole in it. Delievery driver noticed it to and marked it down on the sheet and a manager will be in contact with me. Well 2 weeks go by (mid july) and nothing. So i go to the store and they arent even tracking the issue. They pulled the delievery slip and see the note from the driver. So they asked me to email them pictures and a manager will get back to me. I told them i spent alot of money and waited long enough. Either fix it or i want to return it. They tell me there is no returns on furniture. Which is funny because the manager James that walked us around the store and helped us pick all of our furniture out. Tried to sell me and my wife a $4000 mattress that was returned because someone got locked up 2 days after having it. Dont take returns but willing to sell me a used mattress smh. They tell me to go home and email a picture of the damage and email it to them. So a day or so goes by and i receive an email from the manager Bertha Navarro. Telling me she is going to help me with everything and get it taking care of. Ok cool right??? WRONG....... Bertha Navarro called me and said she will have someone out to fix it within 2 week. I thought ok. Its getting fixed. But nope it is now sept 8th and i havent heard a single word from them. They took my $3500 and gave me damaged goods. How can it possibly take this long?? They dont care about their customers or have any integrity. They are grimy, liars and crazy over priced. I would stay clear of them. I would do business with them if i was you. There managment is a joke. I still want my stuff fixed or returned with a full refund. Crazy part is like i said i paid crazy extra for the repair warranty and still cant get it fixed. Will be at the store monday raising hell. They are scumbags...
