Shrimp Bella Donna. Clearly the shrimp is NOT butterflied, as the menu stated.

So, I have had an interesting relationship with this relationship with this place. My Mom and Sister love this place! I actually love the food that they serve, the only thing I have to complain about, is not getting what I specifically requested and getting something I specifically stated that I did not want . . . Red sauce. My sister orders by phone. I wnt in and ordered the shrimp Alfredo, and shrimp something else. They explained that the dish came with red sauce. I told who was the manager, specifically that I wanted nothing red! After the order was supposedly straightened out, the waiter told me that my specific order was in the bag with the receipt. Got home and tore into the bag with the receipt, only to realize halfway through, that I was eating what I ordered for my Mom. Ugh! Opened the other meal and there was red everywhere! Ugh! Decided to go back the next day and find out why my order was wrong, and did they do it wrong purposely! I asked to speak to the owner. The same manager from before came up, and I asked if they were messing with me on purpose. She said, "Nah, girl! It's not like that!" She offered to remake the dish on the spot, but I told her that I'd take a raincheck! Everything was cool. A few nights ago, I decided to order something different from them. I ordered crab cakes, and a. dish called Shrmp Bella Donna. It was described as butterflies shrimp in a rich creamy white sauce with sun dried tomatoes. This is what I received from what I ordered. Now you know, if you read my reviews, that I am a Bitch and don't play with food, or my reviews of it. Their food is delicious, but I would stay away from what they call crab cakes. Now the shrimp in the shrimp dishes are cooked to perfection. Pasta is fresh and tastes homemade. While my order wasn't correct either of the times I ordered from them in person, and online, the next time I order from them, I am making it a point to dine in. Let's see if they can somehow mess that up, too! Looking forward to meeting the owner of this restaurant!

Food was excellent and the staff is friendly. They have some of the old menu favorites along with new items sure to become staples.

Thought had already reviewed this restaurant. We had been there at least four times since it opened…read morea couple years ago. The salads are one of the best parts and the lobster ravioli are sublime, but pricey. Otherwise, they have combination plates that are very reasonable and no more than what you'd pay it somewhere like the chain Olive Garden. I love the ambience -- it's in an "improving" part of town but once you step inside, it's charming.

I started with a soup, while my brother started with a salad. They were served with these garlic rolls, which were absolutely delicious to eat both alone and with the soup. Then came time for the entrees. I got the Sausage and Pepper Parmigiana, while my brother got the Fettuccine Alfredo with Chicken. My Sausage and Pepper Parmigiana had a delicious mix of flavor and spice which I enjoyed every bite of, while my brother enjoyed his Fettuccine Alfredo with Chicken. Additionally, we had thought from looking online that this would be one of our pricier meals out, but Cafe Italia actually ended up being a great value, as our meals included a soup or salad and rolls, and the portions were so generous, I needed to pack some of my entree away to eat in the morning. In short, we wholeheartly recommend Cafe Italia, both because the food is excellent but also because the portions are so large they are an excellent value. We are glad we chose to go here and would definitely come back here if in the area again.

We wanted Italian. And this looked like the place to go with all five star reviews…read more First the parking. There is a lot of free parking in the adjacent Stadium Park Plaza garage. It's a bit confusing to find the restaurant though from there, as there is no access from the first floor. But from the 2nd and 3rd floor there is access using the elevator. The bulb in the elevator area needs to be replaced because it's burned out, and all dark like a scene from a horror movie. The restaurant faces the ballpark stadium Inside the restaurant there weren't many customers on a weekday for dinner. It was our waitresses second day and she messed up quite a lot. Like the bill/check had us all ordering drinks and extra meat with our pasta, but we didn't do any of that. But she was nice about it all, and even comp'd us a $5 beer which I pointed out to her that she didn't add to the bill yet (that being the one and only omission in the midst of all the wrong add-ons). The fried calamari appetizer was good. Only the rings. No arms. The pomodoro sauce was nice. But overall it was just an average dish and much better at other places. The New York strip was good. But they didn't have asparagus. That would be ok if not for the fact that they only have 3 sides to choose from: roasted potatoes, rice, and asparagus. So it was either double potatoes or the rice. So we got the rice. And it was super boring, and tasted overcooked and chewy. The steak and potatoes were good though. The kid's Alfredo was good too. But the carbonara was kinda bland. The waitress and said it was a white sauce but upon checking it was butter sauce she told us. But it was really not worth it. The complimentary bread they served with the meal tasted like pretzel bread. Kinda hard and chewy. But hot. It was good. It comes with olive oil for dipping. Over $100 for 3 people. It was kinda steep. And add to that a 3% surcharge for using a credit card. Well that really was like salt in the wound. Is all of bowling green like that with credit surcharges? Sure hope not.

The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Can't wait to go back for dinner sometime. We sat outside and there was a concert at the farmers market next door. So it was really good evening.
