Then I got to Eastern Hills Mall and saw their food truck in the parking lot!. It's only drive up. They come up to your car to take your order, credit card only. Then you pull over and wait for your order, which they deliver to your car. Nothing like a hot dog on the first day of summer! This totally satisfy my craving which I had no doubt Ted's would do. Just got a plain hot dog with mustard and pickles. Can't wait fir their regular location to reopen.

The truck doesn't seem to make them quite as well. They would still get 4 stars for having really good Char grilled hot dogs and polish dogs except for the fact that they charge 50% more than the street locations. Isn't food truck food supposed to be cheaper? Because they have very few overheads? Not in Buffalo. So that is the reason for the three stars.

Totally different from Ted's. I think I like this better. At just over $5, this is a terrific place to bring your dog. It's very dog friendly. No bathrooms. Takes credit cards. No indoor seating. Overall, Red Top is a nice old timey place to be by the lake. I highly recommend this joint.

Let's start off by saying, I am nothing close to vegan. For a long time in my life, I wouldn't even…read moreentertain anything that said it was vegan. Although I did have a short period when I tried to be vegetarian, but it didn't last long in Buffalo. However, this truck with this menu and this food has completely changed my view on vegan food. I have had a few of the things off their menu before this and I keep coming back for more. The food they make is delicious and if it was served up to you blindly, you'd never know it was vegan compared to the alternatives. This time I had to try their breakfast burrito. It was SO GOOD! Compared to some other breakfast burritos I have had, this one didn't make me feel like I had to burp or sit like a rock in my stomach. It was light, fresh, and tasted delicious. I washed it down with one of their peach lemonades, which was incredible. Sometimes when they are out, I will stop in just for a tea or lemonade with one of their cookies. They are so good and a perfect snack. The staff who run the truck are two sisters and their mom. They are some of the kindest, nicest, and most friendly people I have ever met. They really make it a true joy to order from and talk to. If you have ever been curious about trying something vegan, this is the spot to go!

We tried everything on the menu except the pickle plate: pickled egg, pierogies, knishes, kimchi grilled cheese and the reuben. We also both had a signature cocktail: a mule and a bourbon drink with pickled cherries. Everything was delicious. We'd never had a pickled egg but would eat a dozen. They were served with pickled peppers and sauerkraut, all crispy and tangy and delicious. Pierogies were delicious. Knish had unexpected fillings but were also very good. I always expect potato in knish as the only place I ever get one is on the streets of NYC from a cart :D. Kimchi grilled cheese was surprisingly good. I've never thought of combining kimchi and pepper jack but it works very well. It's a messy sandwich as you inevitably drag out a piece of kimchi coated in molten cheese with every bite but well worth it. The Mensch (the reuben) contains perfectly tender savory corned beef and crispy tangy sauerkraut. I would eat a pile of either of these sandwiches until I burst. Drinks were unique takes on classics and very enjoyable as well. There is a courtyard outside with cornhole and picnic tables if you prefer eating outdoors. Staff were all pleasant and helpful. Food was freshly made and delivered to our tables as it was made.

We then ordered dinner. Small menu with the right amount of choices. Mom and I had the chicken fingers with fresh cut fries. Plates came out in less than 10 mins. Huge portions and so very delicious. I've never seen fingers this large. You'd swear they came from some cross of a chicken and a pterodactyl. Really huge crispy in outside. and tender Inside. I love this new little take-out place! I recommend the Tehran Smashburger - it is a bit different…read morestyle / texture than a traditional smash burger and is heavily spiced with Iranian spices (I know the chef said za'atar was one and I don't remember the rest). Absolutely delicious and unusual! This comes plain on the bun but cheese and bacon are add-on options (not needed, in my opinion). Regular Smashburgers are available too if you aren't into the spiced version. Burgers come with a generous bag full of seasoned fries, and I hope these are offered as a separate side dish in the future because they are very good and I would definitely get extra. On the day I visited, freshly made cannolis were also available - these are huge and excellent, and I strongly recommend these too. I got a set of three: Vanilla, Lemon, and Chocolate Chip. There is a great selection of juices and lemonades available and I really appreciate the full ingredient lists for these that are posted on the ordering window (super helpful for those with allergies!). Juices are made right here at this location since the owner has his own juice company too. The strawberry lemonade is especially good. There is a small covered patio where customers can stay out of sun or rain while waiting for food - there is not currently seating but maybe there will be later in the summer. Everything was cooked quickly and the owner is super nice. There are some interesting buildings nearby to admire and neat local art on walls to walk around and discover. I am definitely planning my next visit soon.

The future looks like Chipotle clones and Cava copies. If you like that future, have fun there. I won't be joining you. It's a good thing the name isn't written backwards otherwise you'd be in Det's. And then there would be Det collectors and you know how mean those guys can be. What to get: Polish! Polish! Polish! I'm not talking about your mani, but your dog! No not that dog, I mean the hot dog you order here! What else: Footlong dog, and I'm not talking about your man, you wish. Anything else: Yes. (shakes like a piece of chocolate). What was that? It's a chocolate shake! The service isn't always great but that can be said about every Ted's. It just depends which one of the 74 teenagers working at the place, that you get serving you. It's quint-essential Buffalo. Not that it's essential to have quints in Buffalo. Twins or triplets will do. Too expensive. But you must visit Ted's at least once to see what you think. Personally we just have cats, but we practice making babies constantly. They're a wonderful place. Their sausages are phenomenal, especially the Polish, the Footlong is great too. You absolutely must try the Polish, it shoots hot juice into my mouth even more expertly than any man I've ever met. It's just so damn delicious. Give it a try and see what I mean. They don't take phone orders (they should). Their Italian sausage is excellent, their burgers are nice, their footlongs and regular dogs are better, and their Polish is the piece-de-resistance, whatever that means. Perhaps you can use it to resist the fascists of new America, they're sadly on Yelp too. I can name them. For a small fee. It's good. Very good. And their chocolate milkshakes (with malt added) are muy excelente, if a little smallente. But also not as expensive as some shakes in the area and every bit as tasty. Ted's always disappoints me price wise. It looks cheap but next thing you know it's more than $10 for more than a snack. But it's excellent so I put up with it. Not a satisfying meal, but a wonderful snack. Which is why Akon did that song "Snack That" which was about Ted's. The Loganberry is also awesome, by the way. Just about twice as sweet as it should be. Made with real sugar. I recommend doing it 1 part water, 1 part Loganberry. Yours Sincerely, Ted Theodore Loganberry

I was a little surprised to hear they don't allow trailers at Larkin Square Food Truck Tuesday, because I think they'd do really well there. All things considered, I'd give this place an 7.8/10.
