Because it was first thing in the morning, the place was quiet. He offered to give me a tour of the establishment, informing me that it is 'pay what you can afford'. As we walked and toured, he showed me how they built the space to be a community space, comfortable and warm. As a customer walked in, he introduced me. Michael explained to me how so many customers come in for the socialization. He also informed me of the many community group activities offered at the facility. I paid $7 for a coffee and banana bread square, and he could not have been more appreciative. While I did not have the time to socialize longer, I will definitely be returning. Also, the coffee and the treat were truly quite tasty. But that feels secondary to what they bring to the neighborhood. Camaraderie for individuals who battle loneliness is so essential to North Buffalo. It is nice to see it being provided. And again, their food and drink are completely worth it. The whole beans were weighed and ground to use in an electric espresso machine lickety-split. I have used it and it is yummy!
