Walked out with a kayak, beef jerky, and the sudden desire to grow a beard and live off the grid. This place has everything: flannel shirts that whisper "I chop wood recreationally", boots tougher than your ex, and a taxidermy collection that's probably more extensive than the Smithsonian's. The staff? Super helpful. They knew exactly which rod I needed for "panfish, but like, aggressive ones." Such a big space with taxidermy critters stuck in random spots for your shopping experience. The store has increased its fishing footprint dramatically. Sales here are really not great and to find an employee is tricky, maybe if the stuffed wolf or beavers could talk. read more

And I really, REALLY wish that the restaurant was still open. That would make a huge difference. I mean, we'd make a whole day of it if that was the case. Anyway, we had a good time walking around checking out the various things Bass Pro sells. There's always something to look at - my favorite was probably the big fish tank. The poor fish in the aquarium look absolutely horrendous. So many of them covered in lesions, open wounds, you name it. Neglect is an understatement. This store seriously needs to have a vet come out to look at their fish because the state they are in is absolutely unacceptable and heartbreaking. Left gladly without purchasing a single item. When I make trips to a store of this magnitude I make it a day where I have nothing else to do. lol I always like to come to the Bass Pro shop. If nothing. Else. Just to look at everything. I have to admit that throughout my 42 years walking around the planet, I have never experienced a store like this one. Firstly, the shear size of the store will leave you awestruck, they may as well call it a facility. The store has three levels filled with everything outdoor that you can imagine. There is at least 1500 square feet dedicated to boars of all shapes and sizes. Then there is the section on the opposite side that is equally huge and filled with anything fishing related. As you start walking through the store, you come upon a huge man-made creek filled with fish and turtles. And then there is the 36,000 gallon aquarium, filled with really large bass fish. I ended-up speaking with the gentleman clean9ng out the creek, and he said that maintaining the creek and aquarium is his full time job. Then he informed me that this store is the third largest location in the country. I came here for a pair of boots, and I was glad that they had the right size at this store. But seriously, I could spend days and my entire savings account here at this store! read more

This place is so fun! My husband was looking for something from this place and it was first time for both of us. The moment we stepped into the store, we were like "WOW!!!" They have some artificial creak middle of the store and live fish and turtles are there. If you go back of the store these is a huge fish tank has a huge cat fish and other huge fish! I am not an avid shopper. I don't hunt or fish. I dont own nor am I in the market for a boat. But this place is fascinating. Like walking around a wildlife museum. There are life sized stuffed animals of bears and wolves and squirrels and birds etc. on display throughout the huge shopping area. There are waterfalls and one very big fish tank with huge fish in it. They have an above ground pool that is full of smaller fish. There is as miniature golf course inside the store as well. I was amazed at the number and variety of tree stands they had on display. One of the employees told us it is the 3rd largest bass pro shop in the country. There is also plenty of parking . The Bass Pro Shop in Clarksville, Indiana is such a cool place to go to! I don't even know where to begin, but here goes: A.) The place is HUGE! B.) There are soooooo many things to do: 1.) You can shop for clothes, shoes, hunting gear, boats and boating accessories, anything related to fishing, and so much more. 2.) You can play video games, take target practice with air rifles, and play putt putt golf. 3.) You can practice archery. 4.) You can eat there. And 5.) You have to give credit when credit is due. I went to Bass Pro in hopes of finding a particular sized kayak (8 foot to 8.5 feet with foot pegs) and this time of year finding a shorter kayak that will fit inside my vehicle is like trying to find hens teeth. Bass Pro didn't have one in stock and at this point in the season its not possible to order one because its late in the season and at a time when firms are trying to reduce this type of inventory. However, the salesman went above and beyond. He made calls to see if it was possible for me to order this type of kayak through Bass Pro and when that didn't pan out he then checked competitors sites for the size that I'm in need of. I had a special event for work yesterday and needed 50 Yeti tumblers cups- STAT! I called all over town trying to find them. When I called Bass Pro Shop, they were very helpful and professional. They had just what i needed in stock. I made the drive over to Southern Indiana to pick up my 50 cups and they had them all in a cart for me and ready to check out. If anyone can help I bought a 600 eps le new and after 26 hours and 10 months it broke down took it to dealership after several months they wanted to tear the motor apart to inspect for water damage. The darn thing has never been in or near water. Then they said about a bent rod. I was told directly that if there was any internal damage to the motor I would be responsible for the repairs???? Top it off they call and say I have to pick it up or it's 15 bucks a day and after 90 days they'll keep it. Tracker off road refuses repair replace or refund and bass pro cares only about the money and not it's customers. Who stands by the products they sell?? read more

This store is always fun yet disturbing. I have a love hate relationship with the aesthetics of the store. I love that it looks like a bunch of natural habitats but hate all the poor stuffed animals. The fish tank which serves as the centerpiece is a wonder. Over the years I've bought mostly camping gear. Our last visits have been for hiking and work boots. They have high quality brands in a wide range of sizes. This, above all else, is what brings us back. read more

The staff will help with anything and usually super quick about it. It's hard for me to I like this place when I'm not into hunting or much of the stuff they cater to. But I went there on Saturday to have my son's picture taken with the Easter Bunny and they were really great! The line was insanely long, but the photographer and sales staff organizing the event were so cheerful and upbeat it made it a really fun environment. I looked at some of their clothes and they had some cute things for babies at a good price. I am not a camo and guns type of girl, so I don't know when I will venture back to a place like this, but I'm glad I got of of my comfort zone and gave them a try! read more

This review is solely based on our experience today with the intention of seeing the Easter Bunny. Overall I always love bringing the kids to shop at this store, as it is always an adventure. We typically visit Santa every year, so we thought we would give the Bunny a try. When walking in there was no directional signs to let you know where they were doing the activities, but the staff were able to guide us to where we needed to be. We had picked today, because they were also going to do an Easter Egg Hunt and since the weather was bad indoor hunt was the way to go. I got in the line for pictures because it was very long, and the rest of the group went to find the Egg Hunt, and craft activity. The Egg hunt was apparently going on, as we found eggs all around and people picking them up, but when trying to find out what's supposed to be going on, or why there was a big line the staff were quite rude. So the kids continued to look around and play, randomly finding eggs. After the line died down, we went to the registration table and was told we did it wrong, and was only supposed to find 5 eggs and then get in line. There was not any good communication for this piece of the event. We were in the area before the 2:00 o'clock start time, could not hear any instructions or announcements. They kids were able to get the treat bags and keep some eggs. Back to the Bunny. The setup for this was not very well thought out. The line weaved in and out of general retail shopping area. Blocking Aisle ways and easy access to general customers. The craft area was tucked in the very back corner, only accessible once you had made it 90% of the way through the line. It also was extremely messy, and did not have any of the coloring sheets stocked in the area. Once you finally arrived to the picture location it was extremely rushed, and the camera people seemed agitated. This is such a different atmosphere than the Pictures with Santa, and clearly doesn't have as much effort put into it. It is still great that they keep the community engaged and offer fun-free activities for the kids. Overall as the adult, it was a frustrating afternoon, but the kiddos still had a good time. read more

What an impressive monument to the outdoor hunter and something everyone from a blue state should see. As you walk in, you are overwhelmed with the gargantuan size of this place, it's easily 2-3 times the size of a Walmart filled with only outdoor gear and stuff. Even the parking spaces outside are super sized. They sell everything you can possible imagine, including the fly shooter that I picked up as a souvenir! In the middle of the store, there's a huge fish take (shamu sized) that is filled with all kinds of fresh water fish. I couldn't recognize them, but probably every type of fish that people are trying to catch (I saw a bunch of guys just standing there and drooling). Finally, for any guy that wants to exact revenge on your wife for dragging you through ten shoestores in one day, bring her here and she can join the many wives that I saw sitting on the side waiting for their husbands! I've been to several BPS across the country, I didn't find this store to be quite as impressive as the other ones I've visited (seemed smaller in size, fish in the aquarium were looking ragged, etc) . But I did find the customer service to be very good -- I could not get my Rapala scale to switch back from Kg to lb, but a few employees managed to fix it for me, and I was very thankful they figured it out. I still didn't find what I originally came in the store for -- a trailer light cover for my Tracker that had cracked on a fishing trip. My trailer is a 2011, so the trailer lights they had in stock didn't look like the one I needed to replace. Guess I'll have to search for it online. read more

Won't waste my time going in the place again, I keep swearing I'm thru with this place but I always gotta try one more time and they always leave me speechless. Notorious for lost leader items on sale they don't have, haven't had and have no plans on having. They've ran RCT warriors on sale for years and never have them in the stores, and don't have them available to ship. The associates in the stores are arrogant pricks. Not that its ok or acceptable to treat any customer this way but most gun stores don't snob you when your wanting to look at a $2600 benelli. But this bunch will, and have. I just went in to get a box of .45 defense loads for a new carry gun. While I was there I wanted to look at some scopes for my new Barrett M107a1. It was 8:30 and they'd pulled all the guns from behind the counter and everything was locked away and secure, but I guess they have some new policy where you can't look at a $2200 NXS or $3 ATACR nightforce scope in the last hour the stores open, because I got told to get my ass away from the case and couldn't be in the area because they'd put the guns away. Well F bass pro shop !! Left the $50 box of .45 ammo on a end cap as I was leaving and my ass damn sure won't be buying a Nightforce scope there or a 50 licorice stick. I'm done with lost leader sales adds they never have, rude ass sales associates and managers that refuse to issue rain checks, and rude ass associates in general. I'll support my local small independent gun shops that appreciate a $2600 shotgun sale or $3000 optic sale. Never again will I set foot in this place !!! read more

I wish I could give more than 5 stars!!! First and foremost SANTA this year made me believe in santa as a grown woman. Allow me to explain. Upon arrival at 1:20 we got our line pass for 3:30, frustrating yes however I know bass pro AMD Christmas not shocking. During our wait time we got to watch the bait demo and fish feeding. The guy who did it was so awesome and all the kids got worms at the end! Super fun way to kill 30 minutes for kids and adults, he was super knowledgable and great. Then we explored boat seat because why not. The guy who helped us (rick, I remember because he was kind enough that I needed to remember) was super helpful, had great info and wasnt pressuring. Then we got to santa land... we still had an hour to kill but goodness the gimmicks will eat your time bo problem. Now I'm onto santa! I got in the 330 line, not the normal line to wait but my husband and kids were still playing. We were allowed to feed into the line and naturally Santa leaves his seat and starts to walk down the line and says hello to all the kids in line as he walks by. I kindly (yes actual kindness) ask the elf help how long his break will be and she responds " oh he isn't on break, we cant open the line technically until 3:30 and he just likes to hang out with the kids until then". You can imagine my "well hey! Face" then after his high five chain and energy he decided to become his own hype man for " ho ho ho" chants! This gets better... we get up to get our picture and my 5 year old hands him a letter something like this "dear santa, andbikngisig nalidjg making w kaoidbg wkosubgnkwit" and in plain English he reads it perfectly as only a mother, teacher, or the real santa can. Then.. oh then.. my 3 year old speaks... "hey santa! I want a habdo nsoojg msiojg. Qkoi br bekoshebskiw" oh you want a train... as only a mother, teacher, or real santa can. You can call me a redneck, but I love this place. I usually don't like sporting goods places because I get very bored, this place is a relief on that score. There's plenty here to keep your disinterested wife occupied while you get your fishing lures or whatever you need to pursue your outdoor activities. They have clothes (stuff you'd actually be seen in), shoes, furniture, decor items, food--you name it. And if you really can't take any more, there's a Starbucks. I'd much rather come here than Academy or Big 5 or Gander Mtn. I like looking at stuff, but there's seriously only so much you can look at the same old stuff and I don't have that problem here! read more
