It melts somewhat fast. It's still a nice place for some family ice cream nights or even with friends as you could grab some ice cream and sit on the benches out front of just sit in your car.

They had open pet chicken barbecue and pulled pork. Also, they are giving out free donuts (glazed or powdered cream) and lemonade. My hubby wanted me to get him a powdered cream donut so he was disappointed when I brought it home and there was no cream filling. Fortunately, the coconut custard doughnut that I purchased was amazing. They did not skimp on the coconut or the custard for mine. Since my husband did not have any cream in his, I took some out of my doughnut, and it was still plentiful. I also got us two chicken halves, and a medium size of the Amish macaroni salad. I purchased a medium of the crustless chicken pot pie for myself. We both loved our chicken. It reminded us of the smoked chicken at Smoky Glen Farm. He thought the macaroni salad was sweet for his liking but since I have a sweet tooth, I loved it. I gave him a bite to try the chicken pot pie and it reminded him more of a chicken dumpling. They have several toppings and I wanted to get Butterscotch or Hot Fudge, but the employee reminded me of something: their ice cream is soft serve, so if I wanted to add toppings to my cone, it would need to be placed upside down in a cup. I settled on their jimmies instead (aka sprinkles) and got it on a small vanilla ice cream cone. I had a choice of chocolate or rainbow jimmies and went with the latter. Within a minute or less, I realized the small cone I selected was rather tiny and it had a wallop of ice cream on top. Within seconds, I could see it was about to melt right after it was handed to me, so I grabbed as many napkins as I needed. As I sat on one of their many picnic tables and proceeded to lick one side of this massive cone in front of me, I could feel the drips on the other side of my tiny cone, and this wasn't even on a hot day. I "tried" to be quick but ended up having some of the ice cream melt to the ground or on my fingers. Napkins to the rescue!!! Once I felt I was in control of this cone, the ice cream was good, plus you can't go wrong with vanilla. I was still glad I visited.

The cashier commented that the store should already be closed and repeatedly pushed me to make decisions quickly. When she said she hadn't heard part of my order, I politely repeated it. However, she turned around, prepared a vanilla-and-chocolate swirl that I had not ordered, and placed it on the counter in a manner that felt dismissive and disrespectful. At that point, I told her that she was being rude and decided not to continue with the purchase. I was honestly shocked by the entire interaction. I did not get the employee's name or a manager's name because the situation caught me completely off guard. You can get a nice photo and be able to grab some local meats or a nicely prepped soft serve. It's been two years since I have found this location.
