My son talked to her about Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream which was her favorite. She whispered her agreement. It was the 4th of July, it was a hot summer day, so I chose my mission of getting her some. I found a beloved chain called Handels Homemade Ice Cream in Downingtown, PA. Navigation was a challenge due to a few blocks cut off for a townie gathering. Round trip was an hour and I prayed she wouldn't pass before my return. I fed my love her final "meal" of slightly melted mint chocolate chip ice cream and it was met with as much approval as a baby bird swallowing that first half digested worm. I guess I now have my new forever ice cream place. PS the flavors we got were wonderful and the service friendly and upbeat.

We stopped in after dinner and I tried a double with two flavors - strawberry and peanut butter swirl. The ice cream is from Basset's and it's delicious! I found the ambiance of the shop and the outdoor patio to be extremely cute and homey, it's very inviting for sitting down and enjoying a cool treat! I look forward to visiting again and having some more great ice cream!

There are many places that have great pastries, but not many get the European-style light and airy style just right with a bazillion layers. This place is at the pinnacle of that baking game. Checking the receipt all the ordered items were detailed correctly so it seems the kitchen has lost some of its attention to detail.
