As with Size?, nearby store Ran sells similarly rare and expensive footwear for both men and women,…read moreholding a modest collection of men's trainers in the back of the ground floor as well women's shoes front of house. Ran also offers clothing upstairs in the form of various printed t-shirts as well as faux-vintage tracksuit jackets such as Fila and windbreaker style Nike jackets. These items can be expensive though so be prepared to flash the cash if something catches your eye before its price tag does. The staff are friendly and helpful enough but the atmosphere can be quite uncomfortable at times as they are often standing around with little to do other than watch as you shop and try to hide your shock when you see their prices.

Stocking a variety of brands for the fashion-conscious male, this is a really nice shop and the staff are great - I tend to go shopping with the guys just for a good old chinwag! I've heard wonderful things about the shoes stocked here, as this seems to be one of the places to get good-quality footwear, although the current F Troupe colours require sunglasses!

At first impression, the…read moreflight of stairs does make it feel like walking up an office building but all is not what it seems as I found Slaters to be a useful shop. Having recently checked this store out, I was silently surprised to witness two fantastic floors of quality and affordable menswear with friendly, helpful and vigilant staff that look seriously ready to assist. Initially, I didn't think much of the shop from the outside and thought it would be another overly priced clothes shops. Yet, when you see the choice available, there is a suit to match every man, a tie and shirt plus a nice pair of shoes to fit the bill. Whether or not you like to spend much on clothes, the prices vary from one end of the spectrum to the other and feature many brand names to take your fancy. Overall, an excellent choice and you will be well looked after.

Before visiting we had been to innumerable high street stores: Topman, Burton, French Connection, Zara Men, yes, Primark, and the stock was scanty and the size and style range was very poor. Slater's is jam packed, almost dauntingly so, but there are knowledgeable staff on hand to help. Suits can range from £60 to over £200 or you can hire, (the formal range has been extended recently to include Asian Wear) tuxedos and dinner suits are also stocked, as is highland-wear if you're brave/ Scottish enough. While Slater's is known for it's formal wear, they also stock casual ranges: denim, knitwear, coats, polos as well as shoes and accessories. It also sells ladies-wear which is less well known- this section is quite small however and tends to be more formal: suits, shirts and coats. Slater's really look after their clients offering free alterations, personal shopping and personal appointments with disabled customers. I definitely recommend Slater's, and don't be put off by the "it's tucked away" comments, it's easily locatable just off Church Street!

I don't thin that I have ever been into Giancarlo Ricci on Bold Street - I'm not sure I will again mind. Like Cricket, this place is an expensive designer outlet for Scallies. Let's clarify this staement though, Scallies are not your chavs or what ever Southerners find on sink estates in Kent, I just mean your Scouse, urban wide boy. With a range of clothing from Barbour, Paul Smith, Hugo Boss and Lyle & Scott, the clothes range from the bland to the garish - that sounds like there's some middle ground doesn't it, hmm. If you look hard enough there are a few decent t-shirts, quite a few nice shoes and some decent trainers - I was quite taken with a couple of Paul Smith and Johan Cruyff's. But then when you finally find something you're smacked in the face with a hefty price tag! If you like spending money on good quality clothing you probably won't shop here as Flannels have a better selection of such clothing, for the rest of us - and of course that just means me - it feels over priced for standard street wear.

It is one of the more high-end shops in town that sells at expensive prices but of course you are paying for brand names and quality material. Even though there were some sales, it did not really make much of a difference in terms of high costs. Expect to find famous names such as Calvin Klein, Armani and Boss so if you're a fan of these, this shop would interest you. As I was browsing, the staff just let you get on with it. It is obviously not a place I would shop week in week out, as I am no fashion freak nor do I spend much on clothes. In this case, if you're the opposite of me and like to spend lots on clothes, I apologise! But if you're looking for a few bargains, this obviously isn't the place.

So, for you guys out there who love vintage fashion, this shop is well worth a visit since as you probably already know it's so hard to find a place like this that caters to men as well as women. There's a boatload of stuff here to pick through. There are some really loaded racks of dresses, skirts, and blouses for women, and shirts and trousers for men. They also sell handbags, shoes, belts, and other vintage accessories for men and women. I found a really pretty pink flower child type dress that I so wanted to take home with me and worship. But I'm a starving writer at the moment and can't justify the purchase. So I hope it's still there when I go back. Another fairly sullen shop guy behind the counter, but he wasn't rude, and sometimes overly chatty staff can be annoying, so I wasn't too bothered. Over all, a really great vintage shop.

The staff was a lot of fun and just a general good vibe in here! It's super amusing to me how friendly the shopkeepers are in every town we visited. Resurrection has slowly taken over Drome's mantle as Liverpool's number one independent retailer, reflecting the city's changing fashion tastes and as it has done so, steadily expanding its premises and range. The men's fashion primarily falls into two categories of modern, urban wear - what with your hoodies and printed, pop-culture t shirts n that - and vintage clothing - old clothes. Within these there is plenty that can be found for all tastes as long as you are veering towards the casual side of things and like more independent, smaller names. The trainers aren't quite as varied as some other retailers but as the store has recently expanded there's no reason to suggest that Resurrection doesn't have its eyes set on dominating the Liverpool fashion scene completely.

Most of the suits I'd come across are actually quite affordable when compared to other high-end shops in town, plus they were made from good quality material. I'd never visited this shop prior to today as I'd always bought my formal wear in places like M&S, but here has surprised me a bit due to their excellent variety of suits at not overly expensive prices. Inside the shop, clothes are neatly set out in piles or hung up on wooden hangers (which always indicates that you won't be paying cheap prices). There is a good selection of brands including John Smedley, Matinique, Hilfiger, Nicholas Deakins and Fila.
