I have been going to to train with Sean Khoda three days a week for the last 6 months. Not ONE day have I dreaded getting up at 5am to go in and train with Sean. Sean, and all the other trainers, are like a whole new set of very supportive friends. The gym is just big enough to have exactly what I need. Sean varies the workouts every week so i never feel like I am getting bored with the routine. And best of all, in just 6 months, I have gone down 4 entire clothing sizes. Sean Khoda is the owner and trainer who trains me every week. I recently moved and still drive 1 hr. 15 minutes to train with him because the results I see and feel is worth the drive. He is flexible and accommodating to my long drive All his clients support each other and are willing to help out with time slots. It's like a family there, especially because all the Trainers are friendly and they always give you a welcoming smile. It makes the workout more enjoyable. About 5 years ago I injured myself playing sports and suffered a spinal cord injury. I was left paralyzed from the waist down. I met Sean and started training with him on a regular basis. Doubtful to see whether he can increase muscle or my endurance, I slowly began to notice changes. I increased my trunk muscles dramatically, built up my upper body strength and we did cardio to improve my endurance training. After we strengthened up my upper body we began on my legs. About a year of strength training, I slowly got enough strength to walk with a walker. I still train @ Basic Training PFC til this day and I will not stop! I have been going to Basic Training for about 2 months. They are now at a new location 237 N. Central Ave in Glendale. I am SO happy that I signed up. I am the typical girl that has been trying forever to lose the same weight. I have done the gym, boot camps etc and was always skeptical if a trainer was worth the money. The facility is clean, the machines are always working, and everyone is really friendly. The small/close knit atmosphere really encourages you to work harder, you see the different personal trainers working with their clients and you become in awe of how amazing they look as time progresses. I started out at a whopping 38% body fat and its been at least two months trying to gauge and analyze my weigh issues - and found through her extensive fitness knowledge that the reason why I was holding onto weight was b/c of my birth control - I took care of it and watched the pounds drop! I've been working out here for 2 months now with trainer Todd Collins. I am recovering from ACL repair and needed a place to lose the weight I gained and add the muscle I lost during my year off. I love this place! My trainer is Rebecca Brogdon, and she is amazing! I've started training with her over a year ago, and can't get enough of. She uses a great variety of exercises and equipment, so its always manageable, yet challenging for the body. As a result, her exercise program has been helping me to get in the best shape of my life! I am beyond grateful to Todd Collins and Basic Training PFC. From the minute I met with Todd for my consultation I felt understood, comfortable, motivated, and most importantly, hopeful. Todd listened to my neurotic rant, nodding with big eyes as I explained how I'd gotten so fat and the painful events that led up to that. He listens. He was kind and reassuring, he got it immediately. Honestly, this guy would make a great psychologist. My workout sessions with him have been better than therapy! As well as instructing me professionally, and showing me the proper way to do particular exercises that I had been doing wrong for years. When I walk out of a session I'm shocked at how much work I have gotten done, and what a better understanding I have of working out in general (and that it doesn't have to be hellish). I've been a long distance runner for over 17 years and I was getting into a boring, unmotivated rut.
