My school organization ordered apparel from this business for a fundraiser at the end of August. We ordered stretchy maroon buffs with the school logo, and snapback hats, in both grey and maroon with the school of pharmacy logo, and BSN logo for nursing students. We were told our order would be available during the first week of September. However, we did not receive the order until November 12th. We were not updated on what was happening, we kept having to email or text to check in. We were constantly told since September that the order would "be ready the following week," and each week when we checked in, the order was not ready. When we finally received the items, they were the wrong colours! The nursing hats were olive green instead of white, and the pharmacy hats were done in white instead of maroon. The hats were not snapbacks, they had buckles instead. The buffs were not stretchy, they were too loose. When we finally got the maroon pharmacy hats in the following week, they were VELCRO and red instead of maroon. Seriously, this place cannot get it together! If you are unable to complete an order by the deadline, you need to tell the client. We have now switched vendors, and they get everything done in a timely manner. I was quoted 2 weeks and charged $11 to embroider a shirt. 3 weeks later, I finally received my shirt and one of the colors was yellow instead of orange. When I arrived to pick up my shirt, I also had 3 more I planned to have embroidered, but, when I asked if it would again take 3 weeks, I was told I could take them elsewhere. So, I did. I took my shirts to Imaginations down the street off Water St. and Lake Mead. The staff was much friendlier, I was charged $8 per shirt (instead of $11), and I was quoted 10 days (instead of 3 weeks). My organization has accounts with both shops, but I will be telling everyone I work with where to go: anywhere EXCEPT Basic Sports. read more

I try to always support local business but this place is just absolutely terrible!!!! I can't even imagine how they handle larger orders but I had 1 shirt to be made that was called in from a previous order done months ago. Meaning they had the logo on file for a while. Was told 3 separate pick up times, each time after having to call in (not that any employee reached out to us) the date was extended another couple days. I finally was told it would be ready the day I was leaving out of state for a tournament and it would be ready hours before we left. I have dealt with this store in the past and had a feeling I should wait till I was on my way out to drive by and pick it up. When I arrived hours after I was told it WILL be ready... yup NOT READY. Then to top it off the lady working there told me to give her 30 min with 2 employees in the store and 1 customer besides me in there. After I told her I could not wait and broke down all the different times I was told to come in and that I was literally driving out of town that min(small exaggeration) she yelled across the store for the other employee who was helping the 1 other customer to go to the back and do my shirt because I was stressed out! Well of course I was stressed out. They made me that way because my son needed that shirt for a out of town tournament we were literally leaving that day for. Then to top it all off she also yelled out the prices of how much I was supposed to be charged. Started at $35, $25 then ended at $15 which was the correct price. I have 2 huge tips for anyone reading this! SAVE YOUR SELF THE $$ because they are way overpriced! You can go online and find Heat Pressed shirts for a third of the price or if you have a Heat Press, you can again go online and there are business that will help you upload or design a logo and ship you ready to go Heat Press logos! You can literally buy a small Heat Press online as well. This is our last year with the organization that orders through them and I thank god because I would NEVER EVER use them for any personal orders EVER!!! I'm just a regular customer who ordered a custom mom football jersey. I have no previous family/friend relationship to the owners nor do I know anyone that works there. I prepaid and ordered a custom jersey and Never received a call to let me know that it was in. After about a month, I reached out and was told to come pick it up. Went down twice during Different times of the week and both times the store was closed for lunch. A worker wearing a basic sports T-shirt was accepting a fed ex package at the time I arrived and told me to come back in an hour. I live on the other side of town! Super friendly Mom and pop style athletic store. This is the go to spot for all your jersey orders and small essentials. A lot of coaches that I know have been telling me about this place for years. They were friendly and welcoming even though i arrived just as they were closing. They still assisted and that means a lot. I called Basic Sports at 9am to see if they could take a face mask off my son's football helmet and put a new one on that I had ordered of line, the guy was very short and said yes he could do it no problem but it would be a $30 charge to do it no problem I said. When I arrived at the store around 9:30 am the man that I had spoken to on the phone was at the table helping another man with a Raiders jersey I guess the other patron wanted his name on the back of the jersey and the man who works there was guaranteeing it would be no problem at all and how they do work for the Raiders specifically. So the lady comes from out the back to help me so I explained what I needed she said no problem come back after 2pm and that the cost would be $10 . I should have known then the con was on. So I told her perfect I had to have my sons helmet back to him at the high school at 3pm perfect. So after driving back down there I arrived at 2:20pm to find the door locked no sign on the door saying out to lunch be right back, nothing. I then call I got a voicemail saying leave a message so I did . I then went a filled up my gas tank 10 minutes later I arrive back at the store to find other parents outside waiting , to my dismay they had been told the same thing to come back at 2pm. So one of the ladies had reached someone on the phone and the representative from Basic Sports told her they had to eat too, and they would be there in 15 minutes at this time it's 2:35pm. So I call and leave messages again twice no answer just voicemail. 3pm three of the workers pull up in the same vehicle get out drinking their drinks I guess would be from their lunch. So the guy opens the door and I calmly say to the gentlemen sir if I may this is not good business. He then tells me he didn't guarantee my helmet would be ready by 2pm I said no you didn't but she did his counterpart. I then said if you couldn't do it I would have gladly brought in tomorrow or so. She then gets snappy saying well customers prevented them from being there on time. I'm sorry I didn't know your customers followed you to lunch to prevent you from taking care of business orders that you promise and don't deliver on. At this time I'm not so happy , so she then just hands me the helmet and the face mask back never even touched it.I've dealt with sport's businesses for many years because I have boys as old as 31 and as young as 16 and let me tell you I have never had an experience like this . It was the worst !!!! And I pray those who would dare to Venture over to Basic Sports in Henderson,NV never have to deal with what I have experienced over there today. And I am a huge Raiders fan but if that's who they elect to do business with I may have to rethink my NFL team. Mom and pop store run by a female woman veteran that grew up in henderson. No they don't have every size or every option but they work with you on what u need. They actually care about fitting your child the right way and also helps struggling parents that can't afford all the equipment the coaches call for. It's a very small local company they take lunches out of office and when they have appointments yes they do close... not a place u can go get stuff done in one day but great people who don't jip you. I think it is hilarious when you read the comments on so many different YELP sites! How do you make a decision when the comments are "polar opposites"? I've known Leo Hernandez and his sister for almost my entire life and there could not be two more helpful and honest people anywhere!! I'm sure as with everything in life there are just bad experiences, but those experiences DO NOT reflect the entire body-of-work? The problem with negative comments or referrals are that they are most often emotionally charged because of something going wrong, whereas good experiences usually are taken as business-as-usual! Please trust me on this, whoever reads this, that for a small graphics/apparel company they are the BEST!! They are personally involved and easy to reach and communicate with! This is the first time that I absolutely felt that NOT writing a review would be a disservice to the community. I wish I could give a negative review. I will do my best to start from the beginning, but let me please advise you that buying from this business would be a complete waste of your money and time. Let me start off by saying that we started going to Basic Sports several years ago when my now sophomore in High School was in Middle School. We've got several small items here and there from football pads, masks, to soccer practice jerseys. None of these items seemed to be overpriced and we always had good customer service. It wasn't until recently that we experienced a total nightmare. My first clue should have been when I called and in the first week of November to set up an appointment to get my son fitted for a letter jacket. I was told previously over the phone that making an appointment was best. When I called, Leo answered and over the phone joked with me that "if I don't show up Irma would be extremely upset." I laughed it off, thinking 'why the heck would anyone not show up to an appointment, and I do recall feeling a little annoyed as he said it several times. That Saturday, November 10th at 1 p.m. we showed up to our appointment as promised. Things went great, measurements were made, and my son was able to pick out the perfect custom letter jacket. He proudly lettered his freshman year in wrestling and he couldn't wait to get his jacket and wear it. This being a small local business that we had used before we trusted them and I did not call around for other prices. I thoroughly regret this now. After getting everything ordered for his jacket I was told half of the down payment was due now, okay no problem. The total rang up to $497 I was completely shocked but trusted that was the going rate. I paid $247 of that at the end of the appointment. I was reassured that there'd be no problem getting his jacket by Christmas. With a price tag so high I let my son know that this would be his main Christmas present. He didn't care, he was just so excited to be able to display the letter he learned during wrestling season. Around this time cross-country also ended, he also lettered in cross country and received an academic patch. Basic Sports States they're open Monday through Friday 9 to 5. Unfortunately this is not true. I traveled 15 minutes 3 times in one week just to try to get the new patches to them to be added into his jacket. I called several times. In fact, when I finally got a hold of Leo, he stated the next day he would be in at 9:30 am. After I dropped our youngest off at elementary I drove over for a 4th time in a week, to my dismay they were again closed!! Feeling annoyed, I just decided that I would have someone else sew on the patches as soon as his jacket was done. This was December 12th. The following week I called to see the progress on the jacket. Christmas was quickly approaching and I hadn't heard anything. I called on the 17th and was told Irma would call me back the next day. Irma call me back and let me know that unfortunately the jacket wasn't even scheduled to arrive until the 19th. Obviously this meant that the jacket would not be done by Christmas. I let my son know, he was upset but understood. On January 7th I called (see the trend? They NEVER called me) Basic Sports and spoke to Leo. Leo stated he did not know the status on my jacket. Instead he rudely asked "aren't you the lady that calls every day asking for the status?" I had to clarify, I let him know that 'I had called over a month ago several times because I was trying to drop off more patches to be added to my son's letter jacket' unfortunately I was never able to do so because I was unable to catch the business actually open. Leo let me know he'd be calling me the next morning at 9:30 am the next day. The next morning as promised Leo called, he stated that my jacket was the "next to be ready and would be sent for patches asap" he even sent me a text message confirming the jacket should be done soon. This was January 8th. I stupidly let another week go by, trusting that I had not been misled. I called this past Monday (surprise) January 21st, and was told my jacket was still not ready and they would get back to me. Again, no real update. And my jacket was not ready. read more

Went in on a Saturday and needed my name embroidered on an apron for work on Monday. They called the gal who does the work and she said she could get it done on Sunday. Since I start work at 4 am, the owner of Basic Sports met me on Sunday to deliver it in time. I tried to order a hat on 08/25/2014 from Erma which she was helpful but Leopoldo didn't seem to be, then on the 5th of September I stopped at there store at 9:30 am nobody there and five or six boxes of merchandise outside so I called his cell to let him know and I stayed there to make sure they weren't stolen on my own accord then gave them a few minutes to check boxes and get the store open and when I came back he seemed helpful and promised my Hat would be ready the following Friday, so here it is Friday, I call at 10;45 and He was going to check and call me back so at 1;00 I still hadn't heard from him and so I called and I'm told of some $10,000 order and if my Hat was ready next week He would call and I was reminding him of our prior conversation and was cutoff ( on hold or hung up on) and after calling back got more attitude and asked again about the "if" my hat was ready next week I would get a phone call and so I inquired whether or not I should take my business elsewhere I was told yes and was hung up on read more
