Very disappointed in this shop. I was one their oldest customers and noticed the quality of their install was not the same. I first took my wife's car and installed an over head tv, and it gave problems the first week, although they replaced it, the replacement broke again and couldnt play DVDs. I took my car for a sound system and one of the tweeters fell off when closing the door, after a few days i decided to do sound deadning to my rear doors and saw that the rear speakers we're screwed directly to the door without a bracket and that really pissed me off. After i called them, i was told that that was the right way to do it and shouldnt be questioning their job. I just decided to look for a different shop and never go there again. read more

This place used to be awesome and had exceptional customer service. I went in for a simple tint job on the rear windows of the vehicle. The guy was so intent on doing the whole car that he tried to tell it made "no sense" to spend $85 on the all the rear windows when he can do the whole car for $120. I let him know I wanted the factory look with the front windows untinted. After that, I asked about the warranty of the tinting to which he replies "that he cannot offer a warranty unless I tint the whole vehicle". That makes absolutely no sense to me so I decided to leave. He followed me outside and damn near took the side view mirror off of my vehicle trying to stop me. These guys are great. I went to get my tints done early morning on a week day and found that they had been broken into. The place was cleaned out. Door pried open, display cases shattered, expensive amps, and radios stolen The cops were still there when I arrived, but the owner still took the time to talk to me and get my car in the shop. I had definitely expected to be turned away, but even through the chaos they were going through, they helped me out. The actual work done on my car was great. I have had a couple cars tinted now(not here), but I must say the work was impressive. There was no bubbles, no dirt caught between the glass and tint, and I have a lifetime warranty. After searching for a couple of days I decided to give this place a shot I was blown away immediately at the customer service and product knowledge they turned my idea and worked on my car as if it was their own project originally I wanted just to get a quote but once you talk to mohammad or Mike you'll end up doing everything from tints to speakers and lights. It's an uncommon sight, especially in a city with inflated prices for any kind of service, to find a business that not only deviates from the established Miami norm of price gouging. In addition, to maintain such a business practice whilst offering stellar products and services, all while having a level of customer service that's nearly extinct? I've found the pot of gold at the end of the automotive sound/modification rainbow. And it's at Basic Sound. For one thing, they responded to a generic question sent on this very application regarding a possible window tinting for my new car. Secondly, the response was swift, polite, and the estimate was not changed once I arrived. (Technically, it did, because I changed my preference. They didn't change their prices) Lastly, they not only installed my tints in just a few hours, they called me to tell me it was ready to go, and both Mohammed and Mike (I'm certain it was Mike) were personable and forthcoming with information regarding the legality of certain tinting choices. Oh yeah, and they got a repeat customer immediately- had my mother's SUV tinted the very next day. Guess I'll be coming down to Miami when it's time to upgrade my sound system as well. It's so hard to find a trustworthy and genuine place in Miami to do business with, and Basic Sound is where you must go if you're needing this type of work done on your car. He took at look at my current sound system, then walked me through my options as to what I could install for a new stereo and speaker system. I am leaving no stars. What they did today was very unprofessional and I will raise the issue until I'm refunded the entire $74.90 for my charge today. The Lifetime warranty I had from 2008 was not respected. They were bothered and went as far to charge me for work that was guaranteed by the lifetime warranty it had. Stay away. This is a business that I can only say based on this experience don't provide what they offer and that is a fraudulent lifetime warranty. I say fraudulent because no where on there does it say subject to fees or charges on a case by case basis. On the phone I called several times leading up to this stating my tints had turned purple. They said not a problem if I had the original receipt they would recognize it and do the work at no cost because it's under lifetime warranty. As a matter of fact I spoke to Mike he said this on Friday oct 7 2016 and today I was charged for the film that should have BY POLICY AND WARRANTY been covered by BASICSOUND. Before getting anything done here remember warranty is up to the owner Mohammad's discretion. If your tints turns purple over time the warranty doesn't cover it. I'm telling you this because they don't. If anything they'd make you believe it would be covered. Now you know. Called yesterday to get pricing and set up an appointment to have my car tinted. He set me up for today at 10am and advised me many times it would take about 2 hours I said it was fine. Arrived at 10am and took in my car right away. I was driving off by 12. Excellent customer service. When I checked the car to make sure the interior wasn't dirty as a previous Yelper posted, it was perfectly clean. No complaints here. And the tints look awesome read more

Wrote to quote the service to have a head unit purchased from a third party replaced and a broken rearview camera also replaced. Normally not an easy task as most shops do not like to install customer purchased stuff as it lowers their profit (I myself tried two others in the area and they refused to do it). Mike, the manager, answer my message with a very reasonable ballpark quote, and we set up the date and time for the service. I went to the shop on the date we agreed and left the car around 10AM. By 1PM I got a call letting me know that the car was ready so I went to pick it up and yes, the service was done correctly and all directions given were followed. The estimate given by email was honored without any ifs and up till now, all is working great. To my surprise, a week passed and I got a call from Mike asking me if everything was good and if I was happy with the service. Considering that it was a small service, for a first time customer, all equipment bought elsewhere it just prompted me to write this review and to give them five stars for the way I was treated and the service done. I will, for sure, return in the future and I recommend the shop to everyone reading this. I took my truck in for a flip down monitor and a rear view mirror with LCD and rear camera. This was back in 2012. First they lost the remote for the TV and never gave me another one. Then about a month ago the TV stops working and I start seeing water in my truck so when I start looking for the leak I find that these idiots had drilled threw my roof when installing the monitor and hid it by putting a round rubber sticker on it. sinse my truck was tall I couldn't see it till it started leaking. There's not many places like this left, high quality customer service matched with top of the line workmanship. I came here and the owner Mohammed or Mike work the front desk and they're both very patient and thorough in explaining everything. That's very important to me. If you're like me when you come to a specialty store, you know either little or nothing about their services- sometimes people make you feel dumb for not knowing enough but these guys take their time to make you feel comfortable and inform you properly. Basic sound has been around for many years so decided to give them a shot at tinting my '16 GTI. The service is great, mikes good at explaining things such as warranties and other things. The reason for my three stars is the quality if work could have been better. I paid $100 plus tax for a small 4 door car which is on the higher end, at least in my honest opinion. First impression is they need to be a little careful with the spray as all my interior panels and outside doors were dripping what ever fluid they use to install. My center cup holder had a water puddle, what the hell? Had to get home and wipe all the interior door panels and the outside of the windows. Be a bit more careful, in some spots the tint was scraped or slightly cut, not sure how as I dont install tints but maybe too much pressure with the spatula or squigy. If you're a meticulous or extra careful person let them know you don't want to have to wash your car right after. Ill see if all the bubbles leave by next week or ill have to go back. Update: Bubbles have disappeared after a really hot day and the tints look perfect. Still upset about the mess but have to add a star as its deserved. read more

Where to begin? Well, I was once a satisfied customer who would always bring in my vehicle to get any work done. The customer experience was what brought me back as the gentlemen Mike, would always be helpful. With what I experienced, I would often recommend friends and family to their shop. Why the negative review? This past week I went to get tints for my brand new 2019 Corvette. Mike once again greeted me and remembered who I was as I would always get tints with them. The tints were put on fairly quickly, but after inspecting the vehicle there were scratches by the mirror and chipped paint. Mike and the owner came out and claimed it wasn't them, that the "car is old/used" (I had the car for 3 days with only 80 miles on it), I had pictures of the car taken the day prior for proof, told me to take it back to dealership (It's not the dealerships issue), and then offered to let me inspect the cameras. I said, okay for the peace of mind let me see the camera. When doing so, they did "not know how to work the playback system" as it only showed bits and pieces of the footage. I would never return and nor will I ever recommend anyone in doing business with them. read more

They were charging $175 for a car with no tints. Guess the out-of-state license plate fooled the guy that try to assist me thinking that there isn't 1,000,000 tinting places in South Florida. By the way, the "Lifetime Warranty" that they offer is only for 10 years, which really isn't "Lifetime" as they say. Good luck for anyone getting their tints here. If you want work done quickly and incorrectly then this is the place to go to. They cut wires, and tape others together just to get a set of HID's in. I left my car there and when I picked it up, the alignment was completely off... why the alignment was touched? I Dont know. Then the worker came out to align them back with a DRILL (?!?) . I must have gone back to them 4 times, and everytime was a different problem. I ended up tellakeiing them to take the lights off. I would rather lose $140 dollars than allow them to touch something else on my car. The manager Mohammed even told me to stop coming back, because I was "trying to ruin their business." I work at a car dealership and lets just say, I wont be referring anyone else to them ever again. Where do I begin! I came in with my own radio and rear camera to have it installed and I was instantly down talked about what I had brought in.. which is ok BUT to a certain extent at some point this guy "mike" was just being rude. So they take my car to the back and they tell me that the radio I brought in was not working so I was then basically obligated to buy one of there's because this man in the back had already started working on it. When I was given options of the radio obviously they were trying to sell the super expensive ones so I went with their cheaper option which was 149 and it was the last one on display so that's one I received. So then comes the rear camera install they spent about 3 hours because the camera kept on "burning" up burned my camera and two of theres tried and tried couldn't figure out the problem the guy from the back said then that his brain was fried and to bring it in again another day. So now comes Thursday 10/4 I go back and they finally figured out the wiring for the camera but no camera because the guy who was supposed to bring the cameras to there store didn't bring them and my camera was burned up by them as they said. So long story short I left with no rear view camera just a connection. I wish I would have never walked into this place and dealt with mike as he is an arrogant jerk read more

A friend recommended me to do an installation here I called mike he told me what was good for my car get there starts the installation as soon as he's done completely lied he was suppose to install a 1500 watt amp for 2 kickers "12 instead he put in a 800 watt amp . Now his prices are terrible he charged about 750 dollars for competition kickers when brandsmart has the kicker competition vr way cheaper then what he's charging for the basic ones . After I found out my amp blew and my sub was about to go as well he asked me a few questions and helped me pick out a new set.
