I hired Basements Love Us to waterproof our basement. The estimator was nice and gave us a great deal if we signed with him on the day of the estimate. I was told it would be waterproofed, but under the stairs they were going to install a grate to catch the water and stop it from going into the area of the basement which would be finished. The job was done on a Friday. I signed what I thought was a receipt when the job was finished. I went down the basement on the following Monday and I had water coming in one corner and still under the stairs but it was going into the grate. I contacted Shannon and was told that I signed off on the job(even if that were the case, I signed assuming the basement was waterproofed which it was not) Shannon asked me to send her pictures and after going back and forth she said she would send someone out "as a courtesy" I was immediately thrown off by the use of that word, as I feel it was not a favor to me, it was to complete the service which was not done properly in the first place. 3 corners were waterproofed one way and the 4th corner was not finished as shown in the pictures below. They came out and finished the corner that was not finished during the initial install. The installer told me that I was right and it should have been completed that way originally. A couple weeks later I went downstairs with the contractor to talk about finishing the basement and noticed that the water is going past the grate, which we were told would not happen. The estimator said that we could put a door in front of the grate and we wouldn't see the grate or the water that was going into the grate. I just contacted Shannon again and was told that the stairs leading to the Bilco doors need to be replaced and to let her know if we would like a price for that. We were misled by the company. Had I known the basement would still be getting wet beyond the grate I would have used the money to do something else to my home since I am not able to finish the basement with what basements love us has done. I told Shannon I would be writing a review and she said it was defamation of character and they will contact their lawyer if need be. I am simply stating facts about the services I have received, so that no one else has to deal with what we are.

My parents hired this company to waterproof their basement. They paid $10,500 for the job and lifetime warranty. My father told the workmen ahead of time that there were 3 clean-out caps. Despite that info, the workmen covered and cemented over 2 of the clean-out caps. My father called them back to dig them up. He was told that their "engineer said there were not 3 clean-out cows; he was mistaken". They sent someone back begrudgingly,l and told my father that if the men were unable to find them, my parents would have to pay for their time and labor...despite the warranty. The men dig up one additional clean-out cap, creating two separate holes in the basement floor. They refused to dig out the third clean-out cap that they also buried and cemented over. They refused to listen to my father (who has owned the he home for 50+ years) and said the third cap didn't exist. Shortly after the project was supposedly finished, both holes filled with water. When my father called about the water, he was told that it was "normal". My father then hired another company, who told him that the water in the holes over the clean-out caps is not normal. He dig up the third clean-out and corrected the issue with the water building up around the two other clean-outs. Those two caps were rusted due to being submerged in water for about two years. The second company that was hired also informed my parents that if it had been left the way it was, they clean-out valves and pipes would have been completely rusted out. The attached photos show then THREE clean-out caps that Basements Love Us insisted did not exist. I DO NOT RECOMMEND USING THIS COMPANY!! THEIR WARRANTY A SCAM! read more
