This was my first time that my teenagers have ever golfed (other than very nice driving ranges). I used to golf quite frequently at very nice country clubs in Atlanta. That being said I didn't have huge expectations for this experience for the price. This is a Par 3/4 course that also has a driving range. What we got for 126$ on a Friday (which is probably more expensive than other days) was the following: 2 golf carts (very nice ones)- you must be 18 to drive and they take a DL as guarantee 9 holes 3 sets of clubs (I have a broken leg, so couldn't join in) I did cost 20$ to ride along 10 balls 10 tees We had to wait a bit for a golf cart, but you can also walk the course if you want the exercise (not us!) It was a beautiful day and the staff was friendly They had inexpensive snacks. Not a huge selection, but 2 jumbo hot dogs, chips, pickles, lollipops and 2 coffees was only 13.50. I highly recommend this facility for fun and beauty for beginners and experienced golfers for this 9 or 18 hole course! read more

Normally, we love Baseline and the staff but today was a different story. There was an older man working the desk and he thought I said I wanted a cart when I said I was paying for two walkers and one pull cart. I asked if he charged me for a cart and he insisted I said I wanted one....angrily arguing until I just walked out and played. He gave my BIL $10 and said "I'm giving her back more than she deserved". After golf I went in and said to him..."I just wanted to settle something from this morning, I'd like to know the prices for walkers vs cart" and he lost his mind again, yelling at me, putting his hand in my face and told me "get out of here lady" and then said to my husband who was just standing there..."and what do you want to do about it , you're staring me down" my husband said "nothing I'm just standing here". He said "do you want to go to the parking lot?! I'll quit right now and meet you in the parking lot!!" And proceeded to come out from behind the counter until people blocked him. Obviously he has an anger issue and should not be dealing with the public. Everyone else there is amazingly friendly...watch out for this guy. Could not believe a place of business that deals with the public has someone like this working there! read more

Great executive course w beautiful landscaping everywhere. All it needs is a restaurant and bar.

We ( me and my 9 years old boy) played this course today in the morning, it was cold but the staff warmly welcomed us. The course is in a great shape the landscape is in excellent condition, which you can tell the employees care about their work. No par 5 hole is a small drawback but you still get chance to swing the big boy on some par4s. My son and I can play on the same tee on every holes that is awesome. read more

If I could give zero I would, DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU HAVE ANY FRIENDS!!!! This rip off course charges $15 just for someone to RIDE in the cart, not even playing!! Absolutely ridiculous how you have to already pay a $5 cart fee just to play, and then $15 MORE for a RIDER??? All that for only a little tiny trash Par 3 course, that's mediocre at best. You guys don't even have a real PGA grade course, it should NOT cost $35 to play 9 holes at 6 o clock at night for this dinky little nothing course! TRASH, RIP-OFF, HORRIBLE!!!! read more

The course is well maintained and enjoyable to play there's no par fives which gives it a low slope rating and like the lucky 13 island freebie hole but there's on thing that bothers me is the pricing it went from 24 dollars to play 18 up to 33 dollars during the summer and during the winter months it's up to 49 dollars it's not fair to the locals and is not fair to the snow birds which the price hike was intended for. read more

Baseline Golf Course is a wonderful course to play if you are looking to work on your short game. The course is mostly Par 3 holes with a couple Par 4 holes spread throughout. The Par 4 holes are very shot averaging between 200 and 300 Yards. The greens roll far better than I expected when arriving. The course is short and I typically choose to walk when less crowded. There are serval new golf carts available if you would prefer to ride. A large driving range is available for warming up and practicing if you are not in the zone to play. This is a popular option for those in East Marion and is often crowded. The staff is pleasant and makes sure that you keep up the pace. The most fun part is the "extra" hole that is an island. It makes you feel like you are stepping up to the 17th at TPC Sawgrass. read more

While it is scenic and well maintained, be prepared to wait as long in line for up to an hour to tee off. Their no tee time policy provides them with an endless line of golfers jammed in at the 1st tee. The so-called starter refused anyone to start on the back side citing frost which apparently doesn't appear on the front. PS the sun had already removed any hint of frost. Because of the packed start you will only play as fast as the slowest foursome on the course and due to the length of the course there are a lot of slow players that couldn't cope with a big boy course. Unless you are extremely patient individual, go somewhere where the course is run professionally read more

Great layout, friendly staff, course in superb condition! We had heard a lot about Baseline, and after two winter vacations in The Villages, we finally got there! The flowers, very generously distributed all through this golf course make for some very lovely views. Almost want to stray from the fairway. The there's that 19th hole...an island green, like no other. If you're lucky enough, you'll have to walk over a beautiful footbridge to try and make your putt. I'll have to come back to try again. The pro shop offers a great selection, and many, many bargains. Next year, #19, just wait. read more

I live close by this facility and go to the practice range several times every week. This winter the practice range tee boxes were in great shape, now they have just let them go. They are not watering, seeding, or fertilizing and it shows. There is very little grass and what is there is not healthy. They are a lighted facility which is only needed for about an hour this time of the year but 20% of their lights are not working. Very disappointed as this was a great practice range. read more

Great little course to get a quick round in. Immaculately manicured course! In fact, it's one of the nicest-groomed I've ever played and I've played some of the best courses in the US. It's a short course, cool water hazards and traps, it's never crowded and the gal that works the 19th hole serves great dogs and cold beers - and she's cute as hell! 5/5 read more

Really hate to write a negative review. But..... Played here in the early '90s when I lived briefly in the Shores. Aesthetically the course looks vastly improved and the grounds keeping is beautiful for a public course. Many of the golfers are walkers so play tends to be slow. But the sweet view was ultimately spoiled unnecessarily. I invited my golfing group from Citrus County to try the course. They previewed the course from the club house and were excited to give it a try. A word about my group....all seniors between 60 and 75. I'm the youngest at 60 and hearing impaired. And we are admittedly SLOW. A couple of us truly can be called "beginners". We arrived with a dreaded "fivesome". Yeah I know golf courses hate that. With all of 14 cars in the parking lot we figured they would let us play as five and we would let faster groups through. Even told the nice lady at the register that we had five golfers. A group caught up to us on the third hole. We teed off on the fourth and waited at the tee box to let them play through. While waiting a "Marshall", "starter", "self important groundskeeper", whatever aggressively approached our group, berated us, and told us to let the following group play through. He also stated that no one was behind them. We told him if someone caught up We would let the group play through. A group caught up to us as we were chipping up to the final green. Same guy came whipping up. Same overly aggressive attitude. We couldn't have let them play through because we were DONE. Needless to say I can't recommend Baseline Golf Course. What should have been a nice relaxing day. Unfortunately spoiled. While the course is in great shape what separates one course from another is the customer's interaction with staff. read more

This course is absolutely beautiful with its lush greenery and beautiful flowers everywhere! It is very well maintained and its so much fun to play on fine bladed real grass! What a relaxing way to play golf in and among mother nature's beauty. We (two senior women, 2 yrs golfers) walked the course and were thrilled not to have anyone playing behind us. Between holes you get to walk in the shade among beautiful foliage and flowering plants. Ran into a staff member who was tending to the plants and he told us that they switch out the flowers with each season. He was very personable and polite. The cost for playing at Baseline was VERY LOW. We paid $12 plus tax for nine holes walking. This is our second time here and we will be back in the summer. It's a perfect day out. Next time we will do 18 holes and rent the cart. It is only a few dollars more to rent a cart! read more

Course is in great shape and obviously well maintained. Usually try to walk this course as it is under 4000 yards. A negative however is the price for a course this short. If the cost was reasonable I would rate it a 4 or 5 star. read more
