Five days of soaking at Orvis, exploring Ridgway (Colorado Boy Pizza n Brew" & "Lazy Dog Restaurant & Bar"), day trip to Telluride and day trip to Ouray (ice walls, Wiesbaden Vapor Caves). Excellent glam camping experience. Full kitchen in an awesome clubhouse made morning tea and coffee and heating breakfast easy. Clean, well lit facilities. Dark sky area made star gazing breathtaking. Interesting UFO activity. The caretakers were lovely (Hannah and her man). Will visit, again! read more

First time glamping and we had a great time! Only negative was the road noise but we had a great stay! Clean facilities and all the necessity's. Don't know if I have been in a cleaner restroom. Bed was so comfortable as well! read more

This is established is exactly as advertised. It's both basic and comfortable. There is one bed in the glamping tent, so we brought a small backpacking tent to sleep two. There's no coffee until 8:00, so plan accordingly. Shower and bathrooms are only 50 yards away and are clean. read more

Owner is a liar. Stated she offered us free hot spring passes after "condensation" dripped on our faces all night, but never once was that mentioned to us. When we were leaving a staff member told us to wait and she would have the maintenance staff come down and plow behind our vehicle for us to leave. After standing outside for 5 minutes I sent a message saying, "Are you going to come plow??" Which the owner then stated was me being rude to staff and that we could have gotten out without their help. We didn't ask for help getting out.. a staff member told us they were going to provide that service to us. They also said we were disruptive to guests, but the tent next to us was up way later than we were?? They are upset that I got AirBnB involved for a refund and are retaliating against us by leaving a false narrative on us. I wouldn't give Sam or Heather two pennies of my money ever again. read more

A clean, well-organized, well-run camp/glamping/tiny house/small RV park. The website is accurate- describes the site and amenities exactly as they are in person. We received a helpful text on the morning of check-in with detailed parking information and the code to enter our tiny house "casita." The casita was immaculate, clean, and cool. A kitchen with propane-driven stovetop, microwave, full-sized fridge and freezer. Plenty of kitchenware and place settings / glassware setup for two. Nice "rattan-look" blinds on every window. Window air conditioning unit kept everything cool on our 90-degree arrival day. The windows open (no screens) which made for a pleasant morning. A sturdy 7-step ladder reached up to the loft to the bed. Lots of outlets in the unit and the wifi signal was great. The clubhouse is very clean and very pretty. The coffee is very good- fresh brewed not pods. Recycling containers available in unit and in Many RVs seem to be setup for longer term use and the park was very quiet. No one was sitting outside their space partying or playing music late night which was a relief. The glamping tents were off to the edge of the property, and those looked really nice as well. I'd like to try one of those on a future visit. read more

Don,t be fooled by the pictures and description of this place. While the surrounding scenery is nice, the campground looks a little junky and rundown. RV sites are small and difficult to get in and I am a former truck driver. Rachel tried her best to get us in,but it wa taking too much time and not worth the risk of damaging something. We decided to not stay there. They would not give us any amount of refund and they had the gall to solicit a 5 star review from me. read more

My husband and I booked 2 nights at Basecamp 550 in late June. We had a great experience. The contactless check-in was on point. Our "Glamping Tent" (#2) was awesome. We had been on the road camping with our rooftop tent, so sleeping in a real bed was perfect. The tent came with a heater (which we did not use). We slept with all the flaps open and enjoyed the cold nights? It dipped down into the 40s. The bed was very comfortable, and the pillows felt like the tempurpedic style, which provided good neck support. The showers & bathrooms were clean and exactly as described. It was nice to have a hot shower. The laundry room has new high capacity washers & dryers. The cost for 1 load to wash was $4, and for the dryer, it goes in 5 minute increments for $.25.  We did not use the bunkhouse  for cooking but we did visit. It looks exactly like the pictures.  We would definitely book another stay. read more

Great experience at Basecamp 550! A girlfriend and I stayed for a night on a road trip back in 2022 and had such a lovely time. The glamping tents are cozy with a great front deck to check out the beautiful view of Sneffels. We loved the little amenities that the tents offered and the location is great. Although the tents are close to one another, we still felt we had plenty of privacy. The common areas were cool and bathrooms were clean. Customer service and staff were incredibly accommodating and kind too. Can't recommend this spot enough! read more

Gorgeous location. We stayed in a Glamping tent. The accommodations are wonderful! Beautifully outfitted and every need considered-fridge, microwave, snacks, fan, space heater and THE most comfortable bed. And, amazingly...drum roll...the bed is HEATED. Front porch seating looks out over the mountains. The bathroom is so clean. The floor literally sparkles. The owners were very accommodating and helpful. Easy access to so many things to do. If you are in the Ridgway/Ouray area, check it out. read more

My friend from college and I stayed here for 3 nights and it had so much to offer. Contactless check in, comfortable bed, fans and heaters, personal fireplace/mini fridge/microwave, and a GREAT view of the mountains and sunset. The bbq area was kept well, and the bathrooms and showers were updated and clean. They provided towels, cleaning supplies, cards, bottle openers. Everyone was friendly and happy to be there. We are used to camping in a tent, but the glamping exceeded our expectations. Management was available 24/7. The towns near Basecamp also had lots to offer. Tasty food, breweries, music, hikes, lots of entertainment. We can not recommend this place enough! We will absolutely be back! read more

It had been raining and we needed a place to stop on our way to Ouray. We called Basecamp 550 and pleasantly got a kind person on the line. She explained that they were right next to the highway and they had a spot for our short one night stay. She carefully explained the set up and which site to pull into. Shortly after making the reservation, an email came explaining things and providing campsite information. The road noise was loud at first but died down overnight. The views were wonderful. The showers and bathroom were wonderful. It was clear this was a well run place. We didn't use the clubhouse but was told there was coffee within. We left early in the morning but felt glad that this place took us in and provided such a nice overnight stay. read more

Great view if you can get a spot by the fence Well run by a bunch of young people, loved every minute

The new ownership has made this place a paradise!!! The views are amazing... so are the tiny homes and glancing tents available for rent (in addition to the RV spaces). Great location. We plan on coming back!! Thanks Sam and Heather for being awesome! :) read more

Stopped by for a few nights with some friends. The location is amazing! Snow caped mountains surround the RV park, there's a beautiful field between the mountains filled with cattle, most of the lots are shaded and the atmosphere was very quiet and calm. Prices are also very reasonable. Linda, the RV park host was super friendly and helpful as well. The location is perfectly located between Ouray (known for the hotsprings) and Ridgway as well as just under an hour from Telluride. As far as the other reviewer stated about being "run down." I remember one or two older trailers on one end of the RV park, but other than that it was well kept up and looked great! The bathroom, showers, and laundry room were all well kept as well. I am hesitant to write this just to keep it a "secret" place! My wife, friends, and I are already planning on returning in the future! read more

The owners Heather & Sam are super nice I would stay here again because of them ! We travel all over and I feel there the nicest folks I've met also do not let it concern you that it's off the main 550 drag it's quiet at night. I hope they continue to prosper with there business. We will be back cheers ! read more

Pulled in around 4pm, the place is run down and mostly full time rv's, mostly falling apart. Would not say, so found a better place in town, the Riverside Inn. read more

Spent a month here from mid July to mid August exploring the mountains. This park is amazing. It is well kept, clean and friendly. Showers and laundry are convenient to all sites. They have a covered deck with large grills, smokers, and a large commercial sink for everyone to use. BUT what really makes this a five star park is the young couple who own it. Sam and Heather go above and beyond to make sure that your stay is great . We used a Travel trailer BUT they have tiny houses and clamping tents also. As an added bonus the FASTEST WiFi I have ever seen in an rv park. We will be back. read more

This place is awesome, so pretty, such friendly people, great internet and facilities. We love Camp Weber!!!

This is our 5th summer to come and stay here. We love the beautiful views, the friendly atmosphere and the location is fantastic!!! It's an older park, but well maintained and spaces are available year round, which is tricky to find in this area. The owners are very friendly. We love staying for a month or two every summer. read more
