Thinking about it, I'm not sure if I have ever visited a Men's Wearhouse in the past, unless I was just a kid and don't remember so I consider this a first. This location is minutes away from the Cumberland Mall in a sleepy plaza that is next door to a mattress store and offers a select few parking spots. Upon entry we were enthusiastically greeted by the sales team and a young woman quickly offered her assistance. My boyfriend is quite familiar with formal and business wear, and knew exactly what he was looking for. I, however, knew nothing lol I was just there for the ride. The sales associate whisked us over to a section of tux jackets that were neatly hanging on a few racks. There wasn't much variety in colors but they did have 2-3 that were quite eclectic among the traditional black, white/black, etc. My partner tried on a few and attempted to be open-minded as he likes a bit of color, but didn't want his final choice to be too flashy and needed one that comfortably fit his shoulders and height. After trying a few on, he decided to look around for other options but we found that the other options were literally stopping at the size right before his preferred size. I do wish the variety was a bit more extensive but because it was last-minute, I assume that business may flourish more when it comes to rentals and custom advanced orders vs. having so much stock on the floor. After looking around a bit more, he decided to opt for one of the seemingly "flashier" jackets from the original selection the associate showed up. Totally not his style as it shimmered a bit, but he figured it was worth taking home to see how it flowed. Although he ended up deciding to wear a jacket he already had and returned the shimmery new one, the assistance we received at this store was really wonderful!

I was nowhere near home and needed a suit ASAP. Enter Xavier Thornton, the Assistant Manager. When I tell you he was a consummate professional you must understand this is an understatement. He knew my measurements on sight without a tape and was able to direct me to an off-the-rack suit that fit my frame like something that had been custom tailored. That kind of expertise can only come from many years in the field and an exhaustive knowledge of one's product. This was my first visit to this particular location. But, I can assure you, it will not be my last.

Our experience at Macy's Cumberland Mall was extremely disappointing. We went shopping, unaware…read morethat the Macys had closed since the mall was still open. At any rate we tried to exit through the same entrance we came in, it had been locked even though our car was parked right out front. The manager said they could not re open to let us out the way we came in so we would have to walk around to the front. That would be a HARD NO. I informed management that I was unable to walk long distances, their solution was to send Security. It was 4 of us which included my 5 year old grand baby. Security said they could only transport one of us. The rest if us had to walk through a dark parking garage at night with my 5-year-old grandchild. That is completely unacceptable and unsafe. There should be better protocols in place for customer safety and accessibility after hours. To make matters worse, my daughter recently placed an online order with Macy's and paid for 2-day shipping, only to find out the items won't arrive until Monday, well past the date they were needed. Between the poor in-store experience and unreliable online service, Macy's has truly fallen short. I expected much better from a company of this reputation.

I usually don't love department stores for anything beyond shoes or maybe handbags, there's just too much store for me lol. Despite their long standing place in retail history, you won't usually find me walking their aisles. Well, there comes a time for everything. I wanted to visit this particular Macy's because I had my mind set on getting my partner and our son matching Ralph Lauren polos. The store itself was incredibly neat and understandably packed seeing that we were only 1 day out from Father's Day. Employees from Macys were on their p's and q's in each department as they managed their their wares, you couldn't take a step without someone offering assistance! Especially when you're simply walking through the perfume aisle. Sometimes that can be a little annoying, but since I actually needed help this visit, I was not complaining. We ventured between the 3 floors to get from men's to the baby section and I was pleasantly surprised to see that they had a Ralph Lauren section in both areas so that I wasn't sorting through racks of baby clothing. Both areas had some great items to choose from, I seriously never knew that Polo had so many colors available! I finally found a pair that looked like they would work well together and we prepped to pay. The line at Polo was much longer than expected but for this holiday, great minds just think alike! I think I was only a little off put by the cashier taking too much time showing me how much I could have saved if I got a credit card that day and then seeming a little annoyed that I didn't sign up, lol. But hey, it happens! All in all, a good visit and I came out with what I went in there for - win.
