Hello, do you guys have a day pass? I will be visiting Jersey City in 3 weeks and am looking for a gym for one day.

AARMY sets the standard for group fitness globally. This isn't just a workout--it's a culture, a…read moremindset, and a community built on commitment, discipline, and excellence. The instructors are world-class, fully committed to the method, and lead by example. They don't just coach; they train alongside you, pushing everyone to be their strongest selves. The passion here is evident in every detail--from how classes are structured to the energy in the room. Akin's influence is undeniable. I started taking his SoulCycle classes ~10 years ago and was immediately drawn to his intensity, music, high standards, and focus on fundamentals. I've been to over 200 of his classes, mostly cycling, and his philosophy is evident: strong foundations prevent injury and lead to real progress. AARMY has evolved far beyond just him, though--every coach is exceptional, and the team is the real deal. The cycling and bootcamp classes are designed by athletes, for athletes. Bootcamp blends weight training (like Barry's) with calisthenics and yoga for flexibility, creating a well-rounded approach. The workouts are intense, and the community is dedicated--some might find it intimidating at first, but don't be afraid. Everyone is focused on their own progress, and the atmosphere is competitive in the best way. Beyond the workouts, the studio is top-notch--cutting-edge spin bikes, a sleek but functional space, and high-end amenities in the changing rooms and bathrooms. I also love that they have foam rollers available. The multi-gear bikes were the first I'd seen, and the attention to detail here is next level. The music is world-class and always evolving. AARMY's swag is everywhere, and you'll quickly notice the loyalty--people live in their AARMY gear. The clientele mixes downtown creatives and serious athletes, creating a uniquely cosmopolitan but authentically athletic vibe. AARMY is a microcosm of what appeals to me about NYC: open-minded, hard-charging people who love the cutting edge and give 150% to everything they do. The passion here is evident; this place is a beacon of the champion's mindset. AARMY isn't just another fitness studio--it's a family business built on love, talent, and loyalty. It can be tough to get into classes, but if you're serious about training and in NYC, this is as good as it gets. Will remain a loyal client forever. Keep innovating and leading by example!

Don't expect a Barry's-style bootcamp where you get to have a break every few minutes and the instructor doesn't give you much individual attention. This is a solid hour of work - running (around a track, outside, up and down stairs), jumping jacks, burpees, jumping lunges, sit-ups, free weights, planks, pull ups, etc etc etc. All muscle groups; strength, cardio, and endurance. No two workouts are the same (although you start to get used to the rhythm of them). There is a lot of partner work, and it can be a little bit competitive but also hugely supportive. As mentioned, there's an obstacle course you do at least once a class. Oh, and the instructors don't miss a thing so it's impossible to slack off. You will sweat, you will absolutely count out loud in synchronization with everyone else, you might feel like you want to throw up. However, when you're done you'll feel like you can basically do anything. Anything. If you come regularly you'll notice real changes in your body pretty quickly. I have to psych myself up a little bit before I go but it's been worth it - when I started this stuff crushed me but I'm *noticeably* stronger and fitter than I was even a couple months ago. Also don't be self conscious about your fitness level, every class has both beginners and experts. Go once and then try it again, you'll see that you've already made progress.

As a busy finance professional and mom of two young kids, Ron helped me see that I was putting my health last and failing to build in the time commitment to truly change for the better. He is also super kind and was great about bearing with me on scheduling through a variety of personal challenges (miscarriage, a surgery). I relied on him to help me create a backbone of fitness and focus to see me through my family and life goals. In terms of workouts, they are challenging to near failure, focused on a particular muscle group for that day. I started off with her outdoor bootcamps in Central Park and Brooklyn Bridge-both are great workouts to get you sweating.. Do not be nervous if you've never worked out before. It's honestly going to be tough for those who even have been working out.... but in a really great way. I feel so accomplished after class and Ariane keeps your diet on track. The value of the Slim & Strong program is in the nutritional lessons Ariane teaches you. I have changed the way I eat completely and my diet is now a 180. It's not that I dont eat desserts, but I know what it does to my body and therefore I am able to maintain my weight PLUS eat more! She will show you how and not make you feel starving. Starving yourself is NOT the way to lose weight. There is a difference between a fat LOSS diet vs. a healthy diet and she will educate you on how to keep the weight off for a lifetime. I highly recommend taking the Slim and Strong program, at least for 1 month if not more.

Not knowing what to expect, I started looking out for someone who could look like a boot camp instructor and other women/men who were in athletic clothing near the foot of the bridge. It was a great Thursday evening class around 6:30pm. Ariane was really nice and motivated us to work hard. Lots of sprinting drills, lunges, squats, planks, push-ups = all things that I could not will myself to do. We end up doing fartlek running - sprinting, stopping to do push-ups, more sprinting, etc from the foot of the bridge to the other end. Then we did some drills up and down the stairs at the Brooklyn side of the bridge and did it all over again on the way back to City Hall park. I was definitely sore for the next few days, and while it hurt my abs to even laugh, it hurt so good! The only odd thing about the experience is the TOURISTS who take pics of us working out. Like, really?! Creepos!! Anyway, I'm looking forward to getting my butt kicked again!!! Don't forget to bring water; it's a bit unwieldy to run with the bottle during sprints, but you're working hard - you don't want to be thirsty!
