I could hit Cancel, and that was working . . . until last week. Now, when I hit Cancel, it starts up again before I've even turned my back. I called Dacor. Recommendation was cut the circuit. Wait two minutes. Re-engage. I did it. Three times. It keeps beeping. There are not too many things more annoying. Dacor gave me two local places to call for remedy. I called Mid America at 4 p.m. Friday. They had someone available between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Saturday. BINGO!! At 10:45 a.m., I got a call that they were close and would arrive within a few minutes. The guy arrived promptly in a Mid America branded truck and wearing a company shirt. There were two possibilities regarding the F1 beep. One meant the clock circuit was acting up and could be replaced for about $500. The other meant the entire control panel is kaput, and is now unavailable from the manufacturer, so no replacement possible. The ovens are only 13 years old. Well, guess which answer I got? So, if I can live through the beeping, the bottom oven will heat, 'cause the circuitry error is in the top oven. Not a long-term solution, but possibly salvageable until the kitchen remodel in September. The Mid America guy was very efficient and knowledgeable, and he gave me some great ideas for replacements, including a Sharp microwave in a drawer (top-loading) and an entire separate ice machine ('cause refrigerator ice makers are crappy, crappy, crappy; and about a year ago I paid $750 to get mine fixed).

Mid America Service was an overall disappointment from the unorganized scheduling, to the poor…read morecustomer service, to the lack of technical knowledge.
