The dentists were good. The staff was cordial. All good. Perhaps 4 star worthy. All until I called to inform them that I will take care of dental work ONE TIME at a different dentist, as i chose to see a holistic dentist for that particular issue. The receptionist blew up at me, using every word I told her to turn it back to me, as if that would convince me to do the work at their dentist. She even said that 'the dentist might not want to take you back!', because i dared to pay elsewhere for ONE SET OF DENTAL WORK. I realized then that all the glitters and sparkles are part of a ploy to get you to give them your insurance to bill or credit card to pay. The moment you choose to get a second opinion or feel like some work needs to be done elsewhere, you will be met with attitude and berating. To summarize, as long as they are actively making money off you, especially as a cash patient, you will get 10 star service. But as soon as they will lose even a dime that you will pay someone else ONE TIME for dental work, they treat you like garbage. For your own sake, find to a dentist that respects your decisions as to where to get certain dental work done. You have that right as a patient. There are multiple adult dentists in the suffern area. Find yourself a dentist, not a dental business.

Although none were terrible (well, maybe one was), we really just wanted a family dentist that was gentle, informed, and especially good with children. A friend told me to go to Dr. Alpert and literally described her as a "saint". I cannot describe how happy I am to be seeing her. She is extremely patient and sweet and gentle and friendly with the kids. They absolutely LOVE her and the hygienist. I know it sounds crazy but they cannot wait to go back. She reads them stories, has a treasure chest of toys, and has a kid friendly exam room. I am also going and cannot be happier. The office is impeccably clean, the staff is so nice and Dr. Alpert is just great. You really can't go wrong with her.

However, due to the intense fear I had regarding the pain that I knew I would inevitably be suffering after having dental work done - I kept pushing it off. Finally, I couldn't push it off any longer and went to see Dr. Sam Horowitz at ICGD. In my entire life,I have NEVER had such a positive experience at the dentist. Dr. Horowitz has been calm, understanding and extremely patient with me. He made sure I knew that he would take care of me. Despite my repeated need to be assured that everything was gonna be ok, Dr. Horowitz made it a point to remind me that if I did have an issue -pain or otherwise- he was available and reachable! The office staff are friendly and professional (which is hard to find sometimes), and the nurses are patient, reassuring and caring as well. ANDREA was my nurse on more than one occasion, and not only did she make me feel comfortable about asking a zillion questions, but she calmed me down and assured me that my anxiety was completely normal. Like any true artist, Dr. Horowitz created, crafted & perfected his work over a total of 13 months. He took immense pride in making sure that his completed artwork sparkled and shined like a true masterpiece. How lucky am I that his masterpiece is MY NEW SMILE. I knew this would be a long and painful road but Dr. Horowitz promised that I would be happy with my new smile at the end and my expectations have been wildly exceeded!
