In my 20's I broke my 2 front teeth and got them bonded. In my 30's I needed braces due to earlier health issues. Fast forward to now at 51 finding Dr Zev Segal who truly is Magical!!! I have had my 2 front teeth bonded over and over for the past 4 years, every 6 months. I had finally had enough and researched the best Dentists in NJ. I came across The Art of Smile and put my faith in all of the positive reviews. The moment you walk in the door you are greeted with such a genuine greeting ( through masks of course). The women at the Front Desk are so professional and a pleasure to work with. Timing is impeccable with your appointment and then there is Dr. Segal along with Bonnie who are the Dynamic Duo! Dr. Segal went over all of the benefits of getting Veneers to correct all of my issues I had been going through. He even introduced me to his wife who had Veneers done over 20 years ago and looked fantastic. I was able to work out financing and within 2 weeks my teeth are Spectacular!! The execution start to finish was flawless. I am so thankful I found The Art of Smile, and so will you.

I went back for a cleaning & they talked me into spending $900 out of pocket for perio trays, which were going to heal my gums, and "push the gel up into the gums" I used the trays but never saw any improvement. Went back to a previous dentist that was in network & now closer to where I moved. They asked me when my last cleaning was, and I said March of 2024. They said that some of my build up was black, meaning it has been there for quite a while and there's no way the previous place did any level of quality cleaning. I told them about the perio trays, and they had never even heard of them and said that it was absolutely impossible for anything to be pushed up into the gums like Art of Smile convinced me the perio trays do. At this time, they referred me to a periodontist for an evaluation because of gum inflammation & bleeding and I had a deep scaling done & gums already feel & look better in TWO WEEKS with 90% less bleeding. Periodontist never heard of Perio trays either. In summary, The Art of Smile: - Didn't do a quality teeth cleaning - Wasted $900 dollars out of pocket for something that wasn't even capable of what they claimed - Never mentioned that they didn't take my insurance, so everything was taken out of my small out of network amount - Didn't inform me of the level of my gum issue - Didn't refer me to a periodontist or recommend a deep cleaning - Had to chase them for months for a receipt for FSA - which disabled my card for months, then couldn't even provide me with an itemized receipt (HOW?) - There was a small space between two of my teeth, AOS told me I should just replace both teeth to fill in the gap. That gap was caused by my gum inflammation and will close as my gums heal after the deep scaling. - When I complained to them, they didn't even apologize. Just told me they'd remove me from their list & have a good day. All of these things, allowed my condition to worsen. This practice is absolutely deplorable, and the fact that you can't hold any of these horrible places accountable is astonishing. When the exam was done, I asked the Office Manager about Dr Banks and all she said was he is no longer with the practice. So let me get this straight - I've had the appointment booked for months, they confirmed with me multiple times, they couldn't have emailed or texted or called me to tell me the news? I was held down by their staff and given novocaine with out a numbing agents and they prohibited my mother from being with me. So to say I have trust issues with dentists is a gross understatement. A decade without dental treatment is not a good thing. And despite my shaking and tears, Dr. Chiu and her staff never made me feel stupid or dramatic. They took the time to tell me everything they had to do, even being honest when it was something uncomfortable. She perfected my smile in time for my wedding which I am extremely happy about. I no longer hide my smile behind my mouth and know Dr. Chiu will work to get what is best for me and my wallet. My husband now sees her as well. Dentist visits are never fun but even at the worst (root canal) I was comfortable thanks to the staff and able to manage my anxiety. And another bonus if you care is that the bathrooms on the floor have bidets. What's interesting for me at least is that everytime I go, I have had a different person tend to me. I really appreciate the front desk staff who are patient with me when it comes to scheduling my appointments as my schedule changes often and have to reschedule due to my work. They will also send you text reminder so you don't forget about your appt as time gets closer. Only other thing is that they used to have weekend opening but due to staffing they're hours are a little more limited now. Highly recommend checking them out!
