Nice little hidden speakeasy in Chelsea Cloisters. Quick knock on the door and giving the password you enter a very dark ecletic room with a cozy seating area. The menu is housed in a comic book with a vast array of cocktails to choose from. The majority of the drinks are 13 pounds which are a bit pricey but the drinks are worth it. This is the place to go if you do not mind getting a unique crafted cocktail that takes time for the mixologist to make.

Very atmospheric speakeasy. Finding the entrance was another task that gave even more secretive feeling about the place. Manuel and Luka were super welcoming and fun to speak to. Would definitely recommend a visit to Barts when seeing London.

Cool little speakeasy bar inside the Chelsea Cloisters. You think you are going inside a private apartment building at first and we had to ask at the reception for directions, but it is down the hall with a small sign. Once past that door you enter a small entrance with directions on how to get into the bar. A women pulled open a hatch and we were able to get in without a reservation. It was fairly quiet as it was around 6:30pm on a Saturday evening. The first thing I saw on entering the bar was a man with an ice pick hacking away at a giant block of ice, which was a bit creepy, but in a good way! The bar is dimly lit, with red walls decorated in taxidermy and vintage lighting. It is cosy, with a few tables and plenty of standing room and a decent sized outdoor area. You are presented with a book with lots of choice of cocktails and it is table service. It isn't the cheapest drink you'll get but it is a 'speakeasy' and you are in Chelsea. My friend and I tried two cocktails each, I tried the Park Avenue cocktail which was a surprise, you didn't know what the ingredients were. It was quite nice, fruity and had a pineapple flavour. My friends cocktail arrived in a teacup with a brownie on the side. The next cocktail I tried was a gin cocktail but tasted more like old fashioned and I had to swap with my friend as I couldn't drink it! I enjoyed my experience at Barts and would visit again, it's a novelty experience and a cool place to take people who haven't been before. As we were leaving, the place really filled up so I would probably recommend making a reservation. They also serve food/nibbles from the Gaucho restaurant next door, which looked impressive from what I saw come out.

Our drinks were great but the service is awful. Confusingly described as a 'dive bar,' though it seems far more accurate to describe it as a 'prohibition bar.' The atmosphere is nice, great music, with a bit of a reading-room theme to the decor. There is also a really nice little outdoor space, and he drinks are expertly blended from what we could see and taste. However, the hostesses are inattentive, disorganised and at times almost outright rude. Our order was half forgotten, we were over charged, moved around, and had to wait for them to finish chatting on multiple occasions so that we could order and pay. Nice as a novelty, but we certainly won't be back.

It was fun following the directions and discovering the black door in Chelsea Cloisters, and then waiting for the sliding window to be opened and our reservation checked.

The Eggs Royale were perfect! Every bite was gone in under 5 minutes.YUM! Because my eggs were remade, our awesome server, Oliver, took great care of us. Ask for Oliver for a perfectly British experience. I would go back... the little hash browns were toooo easy to eat. I could have eaten a dozen more. Lastly, the ladies room is SENSATIONAL!

It took 25 mins to place our drink order- then about 30 more mins to get our food, after placing that order. Then we had to wait to place a dessert order. Then we had to wait for the check. One word for this comes to mind...'waiting'. We found ourselves waiting every step of the way for our waiter to acknowledge us. Honestly I can forgive A LOT if people are nice but that wasn't the case with our server. Low energy, not very warm and welcoming and slow. Actually to be fair, I got a smile from the busboy when I was on my way to the restroom- perhaps the 2 should switch roles if the restaurant is looking for repeat visits or nice reviews. Btw- the manager...not exactly sure what he was doing. One last thing, I've had sea bass in many restaurants and never had anyone leave the skin on-Just not what I expected. This restaurant gets 2 thumbs down for me. Go to Bills right around the corner - save some money - and get a smile from the staff and a nice greeting.

I'm not sure on that, it's just something I thought we caught on to before we left and there started to be RESERVED tents going on the tables. We went and had Scotch Egg, Calamari, Arancini, fish & chips and STICKY TOFFEE PUDDING. Oh. My. Goodness! First the Scotch Egg. I don't want to be a Debbie Downer but it was....ok. It was a little plain. A little tasteless. They could have thrown a few spices into the meat, just a little something. To say that we've made better at home wouldn't be far out. But still good. The calamari was cooked just right. It's what you expect out of a calamari appetizer. Was it the best you'll ever have? Not really. Worth the price? Add it to your appetizer list! The rice balls, which is arancini is, were good. Add a little salt to the top and they were, also, as you'd expect. The fish & chips were exactly as we were hoping when visiting an English Pub for fish & chips. The fish was perfectly cooked, the coating was fabulous, and of course the chips were a perfect compliment to the fish. A great fish & chips experience. The star of the show was the Sticky Toffee Pudding. What a treat! Granted I've nothing to compare it to, this was my first time having it, but whether I've had it before or not THIS was perfection. Perfect texture, the flavour was amazing, the caramel drizzle was perfectly proportioned, and the little bit of ice cream on the side was just perfect. I would go back here simply on this dessert alone. As for the drinks, because, you know, it's a pub....I couldn't say. I don't drink alcohol but my Diet Coke was great! Fresh bottle! ....I suppose I could have gotten a non-alcoholic beer. Wait....did they have non-alcoholic beer there? SOMEONE FIND OUT IF THEY HAVE NON-ALCOHOLIC BEER THERE. The atmosphere was great. I can see how it would be perfect in the evening and on into the night. Very welcoming with a great looking bar.

Came here for pre-theater anniversary dinner with my wife. The ambiance was somewhere between that of a trendy club and nice bar. There was a mad scientist vibe with the lights being industrial vibe and some metal decor. The music was thumpy and loud enough to remind you it was there. It made me feel a bit out-of-place as somebody well past my 20s, but also a bit cool or being there. You really come here for the drinks. We got the pipe dream, smokey old fashioned, honeypot picante, and one other I can't remember the name of, but which came in a flower pot. The pipe dream and smokey old fashioned were likely the best. Overall the drinks were more visually appealing than traditionally good and the visually appealing ones tended to have ingredients that weren't as top shelf and/or they were just too sweet. Not bad, but disappointing for what we'd hope. The food was the opposite. I had low expectations and the food wasn't amazing, but was better than average. We got the bao buns, crispy duck pancakes, panko halloumi, katsu curry, and hot honey pork tacos. They arranged for it all to come out in time for us to make our theater show, which was nice. The bao buns and pork tacos were probably the best. Neither blew me away, but both were solid. The katsu curry and halloumi were standard of what you might expect. The crispy duck pancakes was maybe as advertised, but it would have been nice to have some moistness or substance to the dug vs. it basically being crunchy salty bits of something. Overall, this wasn't a bad meal, but it wasn't quite what I was hoping for either. We may be back, but we'll probably try other things first.

The cocktails are all delicious, and live up to their exotic names and creative descriptions. My personal favorite is the Kentucky Gourmand, which is a tasty, peanut-buttery take on a classic Old Fashioned. It isn't too sweet, and still packs a punch, so if you enjoy your whiskey, this bad boy is for you. The menu offers a little something for everyone, and if the stronger drinks aren't your forté, then you might give the Cider Side or Popping Bubbles a try. Even their pickled martini seems to be making the rounds as one of the hottest drinks - no pun intended - on the menu. The food is still, thankfully, amongst the best bar food you'll ever have - if a bit pricey. And, the atmosphere blends swanky bar vibes with fancy living room chic, managing to be comfortable and ritzy, without being pretentious.
