My daughters have been involved with BCGA's girls AAU Xcel team for 5 years and after the second year it became a revolving door of coaches, so the girls on the team haven't had any stability in the realm of coaching for the last 3 seasons. Well, this year the coaches they brought in hit an all-time low, to the point they sucked all of the love of the sport out of my daughter that has loved doing gymnastics with her teammates for years now. I emailed the main coach (the guy in charge of the 3 coaches for the AAU Xcel team) 5 times between January and April 14th with little to no responses from him. Our daughter and the rest of the team were told that they needed to come up with their own beam routines, while the coaches didn't even make sure all the skills that they needed for the event were in their routines. Many of the girls completely bombed the beam event at their first meet (which was at BCGA), then the coaches got angry at the team for not doing well at the event. The two female coaches they had this year consistently looked for any excuse they could find to cancel practice, when practice wasn't cancelled, they didn't work on developing or fine-tuning the girls' skills instead they worked on breaking down the girls' spirits by calling them pathetic and getting in their faces at the drop of a hat. The one male coach the team had was the best at developing the girls' skills, but he thought it was appropriate talk to them about their periods and had other inappropriate behaviors. He was removed from the gym after an incident with another team, so that it the caliber of people that this organization feels is okay to hire to train your kids. If you want your girls to enjoy gymnastics, then find another gym. My daughters have both quit gymnastics now and it is in no small part due to the way this gym is being run. Again, I emailed the main coach (the guy in charge of the 3 coaches for the AAU Xcel team) 5 times between January and April 14th with little to no responses from him. So, after getting tired of my daughter being upset to the point of tears after 90% of her practices, I addressed the coaches myself. I will admit that I could've been more tactful when I approached the coaches, but here is what I said to the team's "head coach." I said, "Since you want to talk about the team being pathetic in front of the girls, you should know that the performance of the team is a reflection of their coaches," I then said, "You're a shit coach." After that the other coach scoffed and I left the gym. They then kicked my daughter off the team because of me addressing the coaches, and they said she was lying about everything despite several of the other girls talking with her on the phone about the things the coaches have been saying to them and how it's making them feel. I do wish I would've approached this situation differently, but due to an overwhelming amount of frustration at both the coaches and senior staff of BCGA, I addressed the problem that they were not handling. This organization does not care about the well-being of your girls or even that they are developing their gymnastics skills, all of that went out the door a long time ago. Your AAU girls are just numbers and paychecks for this place. This is not to say anything against Bart Conner himself, because he is not involved with most of the day-to-day work going on at the gym. The few interactions I have had with him have been pleasant and he seems like a very down-to-earth kind of guy. However, the people running the gym are dragging his name through the mud. read more

We loved Bart Conner Gymnastics Academy. My son started classes with Little Team at age 3 years. We have spent nice 4 years with our couchers and reached 3rd level in the sport team. It was a great experience. My kid learn a lot and improved his strength and communication skills. He tried himself in professional sports. And we are grateful to all the people who have supported us during this time. For parents who only starting to step up into gymnastics, I recommend planning it in advance. Usually, classes are full, and it is difficult to find a free spot for your kid. read more

I wanted so badly to love this gym. It was recommended to us by a professional, and we were excited to try. My son has multiple severe health issues and I was alarmed to see that despite me being through on intake paperwork, none of his information was saved to his portal information, and on the first day of classes his coaches were clueless and unaware of his issues. Of course I pulled them aside and spoke to them, but I was shocked that it wasn't communicated to them. When we made the decision to withdraw and asked for 30 money back guarantee they advertise on the website, they argued with us and claimed my son has been enrolled in classes there before. He has only ever been enrolled and attended one single class. The customer service was awful. It took over a week of calling multiple times a day, and driving out there to finally get ahold of someone to help us. Again, we really wanted to love this place- but I just did not feel comfortable or welcome. We will be returning to our old gym. read more

I'm surprised there aren't more reviews for this place! We had my daughter in the 4 year old program over the summer and she absolutely loved it! She had so much fun with her fellow gymnasts learning new moves and honing her skills. She really thrived here, and the teachers were all so patient with her! I definitely plan on enrolling her again soon! read more

The waiting room stinks. Litterally. With all the kids they got going through there every day, you think they could buy some comfy couches and deorderize the place. The parents are paying for the lessons so give us some place that doesn't stink to wait on our kids. The front desk help is lackluster and it seemed like no one knew who was doing what. It seemed like kids were running the show. Also they canceled on us because of the weather and then made us pay for a class our kids couldn't even attend, and the the next week was a scheduled down day for our kids lesson time. Tried to make us pay for that too. I called and complained, and they said, "Well you could have come at a different time." I told them, well you should have made that an option when you told us you'd be closed. We never plan on going back, and it's a shame because our kids actually liked doing the classes. read more

My daughter attended camp at Bart Conner and we had a blast. The coaches were excellent, the facility is very nice and the gymnast to coach ratio was really good. She got 6 hours of practice each of the three days and learned some great new skills. The only downside was it was advertised as a camp for those who competed a minimum of level 3 last year and ages 6 and up. There were clearly campers who were younger than 6 and not a level 3 working on level 4 skills. I don't know why parents enroll their kids in a program that is clearly not for them. 18 hours of gymnastics over three days is a lot of gymnastics even for a kid like mine at level 5 who is 9 years old. Younger kids were crying, getting bored, throwing tantrums and that is all normal 4-5 year old behavior because the camp wasn't geared for them. I hope Bart Conner does a better job of screening participants for next year because we really plan to come back. read more
