This gallery is small, but it packs a punch. I've visited the gallery a handful of times now and have had the opportunity to check out a few different exhibits and I've loved them all. The space itself is perfect: intimate, bright white walls, perfect lighting and excellent art adorning said walls. The owner Al is pretty awesome and bends over backwards to give you a great experience. I like to add that Barsky Gallery is part of and really taking charge in the Hoboken Art Walk - check it out and support local arts! Overall, if you're looking for something different to do, stop by, have a glass of wine and check out some art. They rent out their space as well: what a great idea for engagement/bday/events!

What an amazing experience! I had my baby shower here and could not be happier. We got so many compliments on the venue and Albert was helpful the entire process. It was everything we dreamed of and the set up was wonderful. Highly recommend to everyone it really is a gem.

I recently rented the Barsky Gallery to throw a cocktail-style party for my fiance's birthday party (which - surprise - was also our defacto engagement party). We had around 75 guests, around half of whom live in Hoboken, none of whom had been to the gallery, and all of whom were excited about this hidden gem in the back of town. There was ample space, even with a half-dozen cocktail tables set up around the room. Al coordinated the table and linen rentals as well as two staffers to work the bar and keep an eye on the spread; the party was an incredible success and I could not imagine the guest of honor having a better time. The rental for the gallery and Al's preferred party supplier was fair, and he is super-quick to respond via Yelp, phone, or email. Everyone who asked how I found the gallery was surprised to hear "A Google search led me to Yelp." If that's how you landed here too...you've come to the right place!

My all time one of the kind favorite gallery right in the neighborhood !! Great attention to detail and elegance throughout the venue. Excellent environment to host one of the kind event!. A must to visit in Hoboken.

We had a launch party for Standrey.com here. AL was friendly and helpful when we initially visited the space. He was more than willing to make accommodations to suit our personal needs like move pictures, furniture l etc. He provided covered tables at no additional charge. And you can't beat the rental fee. He was more than helpful during the actual event which took place last weekend. He opened his office up to my staff and let them set up. He allowed us to play music from his personal computer and when the paid time was up he didn't rush us out the door. Actually told us to relax and continue to enjoy our event. Needless to say I would recommend Barsky Gallery to anyone looking to host an event and I will look to definately throw more events here.

We had our engagement party here (70 people) and it was simply fantastic. Everything was perfect - the space, the art and the location (not too far from the PATH train). The owner (Al Barsky) was overly accommodating and was at our event to ensure everything ran smoothly (which it did). And the price for the space was very reasonable.

Loved celebrating our wedding at Barsky Gallery!

I married the love of my life at Barsky Art Gallery this weekend with about 80 of our friends and loved ones! We followed it up with a cocktail reception. This was the perfect venue for event. It was elegant, fun, and cool all at the same time. Affordable as well for a wedding in the NYC metro area. Al Barsky, the owner of the gallery, was tremendous in making everything work flawlessly on our day. Thank you so much! If you are thinking about having an event here, I wouldn't hesitate at all. It will be wonderful.

However, the way the billing was handled was extremely disappointing and honestly very misleading. I was told that adding two additional guests would not be a problem, and at no point was I informed there would be an extra $150 charge. To only bring this up after the event is unacceptable. That kind of information should be clearly communicated at the time the request is made so customers can make an informed decision. What made matters worse was receiving a final email stating that my deposit would be kept because of those additional guests. That is completely unprofessional. I paid $2,772.20 for a pizza-making class for 17 kids and 16 adults, and in reality, only 15 kids and 15 adults attended--and only about 8 adults even participated in making pizza. There were no additional materials or accommodations that would justify keeping the deposit. While the event itself was a success, the lack of transparency and the decision to keep the deposit left a very bad impression. Customers should not have to deal with surprise charges after the fact.

When I saw that Hudson Table offers Chef Competition events, I knew it would be a fun option for my…read morehusband and me to check out. The format is basically like the show Chopped - two chefs (with the help of a sous chef) must prepare 3 different courses (app/entrée/dessert) using the ingredients from a mystery basket and are judged by the group. They have a certain amount of time for each round/course, and each mystery basket ingredient must only be used once over the 3 dishes. Each event is capped at 20 people - 12 seats at the counter and 8 seated at two tables behind the counter. Counter seats are only $10 more, however if the counter is sold out, it's totally fine to have a table seat. They encourage you to stand up and walk around, engaging with the chefs as they are preparing each dish. They have tasting sticks and allow you to taste sauces as they are being prepared. It's an intimate setting and it's a great way to learn about their techniques and the various ingredients. Watching them plate 20 dishes is incredible. All the food they prepared was delicious - there wasn't a bad dish. It's basically like having two full 3-course meals however you can take home any leftovers if you can't finish it all. You don't know the mystery ingredients ahead of time and they can't accommodate any allergies/preferences so that's something to keep in mind if you have allergies or are a picky eater. Our main proteins were chicken and steak so no issues there. At the end of each course, you have a score card where you rate each dish on presentation, creativity, and taste. At the end of the final round, we went around the room and told the chefs who we think should be crowned the night's winner. No getting out of telling them to their faces who was your favorite! It was a really fun night. The hostess was great and kept everyone pumped up and made sure our carafe of water was full. Both chef Ed and Guillermo were really cool and friendly - it was great to chat with them. They are amazing chefs. Some tips: don't be late! Don't dress too warmly especially if you are seated at the counter - it gets warm if you are near the stove burners. Bring wine - they have ice buckets for white/rosé. Book as soon as the calendar goes live if you want a counter seat. You are going to smell like oil/fried food when you leave... so ladies, don't get a fresh blowout ahead of time!

RUN away - no attention to detail, no designated event manager, and if something goes wrong, you…read morewill receive no apology or explanation. Their glaring incompetence was shocking and unacceptable. We booked our October 22, 2022 wedding in May 2021. The event managers at the time were knowledgeable and able to answer all of our questions and concerns, so the decision seemed right (sadly, they both ended up leaving before our wedding). After that, getting any answers from the venue was like pulling teeth. From March 2022 to May or June they had a new event manager named Kevin who was entirely non-responsive so I started including the restaurant group manager Adam on emails. Eventually, Kevin disappeared. In July 2022, I met Adam in person. He assured me that he would adhere to all the promises made previously and we went through a list of questions I had. I asked to schedule a tasting and finalize the menu/pricing for our October wedding and he explained that they should have a fall menu by mid-August. It seemed like we had turned over a new leaf and were moving in a positive direction. Mid-August came and went, and I reached out asking about the menu which Adam indicated would be ready by September 2-3. From 8/30 to 9/7 multiple emails were sent without anything being scheduled. Somehow, my wedding planner got contact information for another staff member from another wedding planner and was able to get us in for a tasting on September 22. We did not receive final menus, alcohol lists, or pricing until literally the week of our wedding. In multiple forms of communication, the venue assured us they had enough tables for our guests and that they could provide freezer storage for our custom ice cream cakes. On Friday 10/21, I personally delivered the cakes out of a cooler bag to a member of the Kolo Klub staff and told them they were ice cream cakes and they needed to go in the freezer. She took them into the back herself and made me wait in the hallway so I did not see where they were stored. Come wedding day, we had issue after issue. There were not enough chairs set up for the guests for the ceremony so people were standing all over the back of the room. The venue had promised they had enough tables to seat our guests, yet two tables were sat around coffee tables. The bartenders were all making the specialty cocktails differently. During the speeches, there was loud music BLARING from the Pilsener Haus downstairs so people could not hear the speeches. The buffet took forever to be re-filled. And finally, the venue RUINED ALL FIVE of our custom ice cream cakes AND DID NOT TELL US AT FIRST OR APOLOGIZE. These were gorgeous, custom cakes from Torico in Jersey City that looked like amethyst geodes. I only found out because I asked a server to have the cakes taken out so my photographer could take pictures of them before they were cut and I was told something like "there was an incident and there were no cakes." As you can imagine, I was irate. The venue had upheld ZERO of their promises and now had destroyed our desserts that we paid for out of pocket and hand-delivered. I had NO WEDDING CAKE. There was no manager or head staff member on hand handling this situation and no apology. There were no proposed solutions of how they were going to provide dessert for our guests. In fact, my brother-in-law went out to a bakery and purchased cookies with his own money. I demanded to be repaid the money I spent on the cakes, and my brother-in-law insisted a staff member retrieve cash to compensate us, which thankfully happened. At some point what looked like a supermarket ice cream cake appeared. I am not sure if the venue eventually sent someone to get the cake or one of my other relatives got it. It has been two months since the wedding and I still have received no apology or information on what happened, despite a staff member saying "someone would be in touch." If I could do it over, I would never have hosted my wedding here.

An event space review:…read more So, I've never been here for like a regular Saturday night and I've never actually hosted an event here but, I've been to this space for a few local Hoboken events and I've also been here for a private tour and the end result: It's aesthetically amazing. I've recommended at least one friend to get married here (and they are) and as far as event spaces go this one is damn fine with a max capacity of about 200 people. Mutli room all with beautiful wood floors, dark leather couches, dim lighting, brick walls. Wow. Definitely Prague in the 1940's. Definitely one of the hipper locations I've been in Hoboken. The cocktail list is extensive and is of the "mixologist" type. They are pricey $11-$13 or so but, that's how much fancy cocktails cost these days. Womp womp. I really can't talk about ambiance on a regular night since I've never been but for an event space, this place is truly dark, romantic and a super cool spot in Hoboken definitely a must stop and see when planning a special event, wedding, bday, fundraiser. (I have no clue on pricing/rental so good luck).
