I strongly recommend avoiding this practice. They will try to get your money no matter what. That…read moremeans if you happen to make an appointment with them, you will not be able to get out of it. You either have to see the doctor even when you no longer need medical help or pay a cancelation fee even if you try to cancel the appointment early way beyond their so-called 'policy'. Here is my predicament. I hurt my foot during the weekend. At the time I thought I would need medical help, so around 5PM May 12, Monday, I called this office and made an appointment. They gave a 12PM appointment the next day, Tuesday, May 13. Note that this is within their 24 hour window of cancelation. There was no communications from their office regarding a cancelation fee. If I knew, I would not proceed with one. I don't want to be financially trapped like that. The next morning, Tuesday May 13, I knew I couldn't come, so I called and asked to cancel the appointment. To my surprise, they told me I cannot cancel it because it was within their 24 hour window. I was not told about this fee when the appointment was given. They told me I either had to reschedule or pay that fee. Facing with no other options, I thought I might need to be seen, I rescheduled to Friday May 16, 9:15 appointment. Over the next day, my foot improved, there was no more pain, and no swelling. So I called this office on Wednesday to cancel the appointment. Note that this is way before their 24 hour cancelation window. They said I cannot cancel it, if I do, I will be imposed a fee of $50. THIS IS ANOTHER WAY OF TELLING ME THAT I HAVE TO SEE THEIR DOCTOR WHEN I NO LONGER NEED MEDICAL CARE. THIS IS VERY UNFAIR PRACTICE AND AMOUNTS TO SCAM. Fifty dollar is not a big amount but principal is principal. They cannot just charge people if they like. People pay when service is rendered. I received no service. As a matter of fact, with the first appointment, I was given no chance to cancel my appointment because they did not inform me of this potential fee and the appointment was give within their 24 hour. The second appointment was effectively forced on me. I still tried to obey their so-called 'policy' by contacting them as soon as I can to cancel. Now they don't honor their own policy and told me they will send me a bill for that fee. I will refer this matter to the New Jersey Ministry of Consumer Affair for investigation of my complaint.

I didn't seek a second opinion, and decided to see Dr. Silverberg based upon his positive Yelp reviews. I can personally say that I was terrified to get surgery, worried that healing would be unsuccessful, but Dr. Silverberg is cool as a cucumber. He really knows what he is doing, backwards and forwards. He has an incredibly calm energy. Exactly what you would want / expect from any surgeon. He informed me about every detail of the surgery, and what to expect afterwards. He gave me his email, and graciously wrote to me when I had extra questions. The day of the procedure, he had a calm, cool presence and everything went very smoothly. A big shout out to the team he works with at the surgery center, my anesthesiologist was fantastic and put me at ease. I hesitate to share details about my recovery, because I know everyone heals differently, but I had a great experience. I was never in pain at all- and Dr. Silverberg continued to answer my emails, called me to follow up, and even texted with me at one point. Amazing! The one thing I must stress if you are considering surgery is- don't fool around with your recovery period. I listened to Dr. Silverberg and iced, elevated, wore my "boot" and didn't push myself. I think so many people have bad recovery experiences because they do not listen to their doctor!!! I've gained back great range of motion (with help from the physical therapist that Dr. S. recommended, and my foot looks and feels great.) I will eventually make another appointment to get my right foot done. Thanks, Dr. Silverberg!

Specifically, our toddler son got injured and we got an x-ray of his foot done prior to our visit. Dr. Tabari looked at the x-ray but was unable to identify that toe was broken so determined that he needed to take an x-ray of the OTHER foot to see if our son was just "born this way"... Upon seeing that of course the other foot did not have a broken toe, the Dr. recommended that we use ice and have our son wear a tennis shoe at home for a month -- sounds pretty good, thankfully we sought a second opinion. We were extremely fortunate to get an appointment at HSS where the great doctors there immediately diagnosed the broken toe by it's technical name and began the path to recovery that unfortunately included surgery. In addition, they did not need to expose our son to a second x-ray to confirm that a broken toe was, in fact, a broken toe - they just knew how to read x-rays and understand how feet work. I am sure the Dr. is good for some things, but would not use him for any serious issues requiring potential surgery or broken feet. In addition, this is the only doctor's practice I have ever been to that charged my credit card for a deductible a month later without the courtesy of a phone call or sending an invoice ahead of time... we all understand how deductibles work but this was very unprofessional. And I am sure the charge for the extra, unnecessary radiation is a part of this charge. Biggest lesson - get a second opinion.

Dr. Tindel reassured me that this would be the best procedure for me and that it would be his goal to see me recover as close to 100% as possible. I went through with the procedure with Dr. Tindel earlier this summer and can say that I am practically back to 100% already. He would alternate between looking over my shoulder as I filled everything out to pacing like he had way too much coffee. I have had acupuncture before so what took place next was insane. Usually the acupuncturist talks to you about what the issue is, places the needles, dims the lights, puts on spa music and leaves the room WITH OUT interruption for 20 minutes. This place had very loud music (soft hits but VERY loud), someone WALKED IN a few times during my treatment, the door to the junk space was wide open - just not a very relaxing experience at all. This man was off his rocker. BTW - he never introduced himself so I have to call him "this man" I'll admit this man did more than I expected, but after an hour and a half of being pulled, twisted, and climbed on, I had enough and asked to leave (did I mention I only made an appointment for acupuncture). This man actually climbed on my back and pounded my muscles to "loosen" them. The muscle simulators that he put on and the cupping while he did the acupuncture was a nice touch, but the rest was just bat shit crazy - and someone that kept coming in and out of the room while I was barely dressed was just not okay. Very unprofessional set up - I was way more stressed leaving that office than when I walked in. Bat. Shit. Crazy.
