Pies, rolls, cakes, scones, etc and they make birthday and wedding cakes to order. The same ladies have worked there since I was little and they are all very helpful. The shop is spotless. I think anyone who uses this shop has their favourite things. Mine are onion pies and the samll apple pies that they sell. I am also partial to a bit of domino cake. Though, if you are happy to eat only cakes for lunch, maybe this is not such a bad thing. As the cake selection is definitely the best thing this bakery has going for it. Therefore, I'd recommend this for a quick in and out job in order to pick up cakes for a leaving do or something along those lines. However, do try and time it well as you could end up at the back of a long and very slow moving queue if not careful.

Newlands Home Bakery make the best bagels in Glasgow. Toasted, they are astoundingly good. They used to make excellent strawberry topped sponge cakes (covered in cream and chocolate vermicelli), but I haven't looked for those in a while. I used to visit their, unfortunately now closed, tea room when I was a kid and had to face the tough decision of which cake to choose from the display on the tiered silver tray in the centre of each table.
