Suffice it to say the customer service offered by Barron's is abysmal. There is a clear lack of regard or respect for clients. And instead of practicing accountability, they instead deflect and try to blame/shame the customer. Use at your own risk. read more

The family business story brought me into the Barrons showroom. We bought an LG stacker washer for about $1000 + GST. 4 months later the machine stopped spinning, clothes soaking wet. We got Barrons service, they came three times for a total cost of about $300. In the end they said that the washer was working OK, but they had not tested it under load. They were wrong because it did not work. On the phone Barrons offered me no choices. They wouldn't even take it away and install a new one for pay. Barrons was not obligated to compensate me but they offered no solution. I bought a new one, same model brand new for $1600 + tax, with an automatic 1 year warranty. It was a bad idea to pay $1000 + tax for a used one. Dealing with Barrons was a total loss of over $1300. I'll never deal with them again, to risky. The service was fairly priced and prompt, but the skill level was questionable. read more

Our stove starting failing sporadically; the control panel displayed error messages (e.g. "Err 15"). We called Barron and got put through to Brian who was confident that he could repair the control panel for the fraction of the cost of a replacement. So, a few days later, Greg showed up, confirmed that there was a problem, disconnected the control panel and took it away, so that they could work on it in their shop. At that point they charged us $130, which we paid. Then we heard nothing, so after almost a week, I called again and spoke with Brian. He apparently had resoldered some contacts but could find no problems. A few more days later Greg returned to reinstall the control panel. The stove failed immediately with the same error. He took it away again and assured me that someone would contact me. After another few more days of hearing nothing, I called yet again and spoke with Brian. He had nothing to add; the control panel was showing no errors on their test bench. He said that the error was likely due to some problem in the communication between the stove and the control panel. So, taking the control panel off and working on it in isolation in their shop turned out to be the wrong thing to do - they should have diagnosed it in situ. By this time, I was fed up with them, so I told them to come back and put it back they way they found it for no extra charge. Greg turned up a few days later and reinstalled the working control panel but did not attempt to affect a repair. We spoke; he said that he would look into getting a refund for me, and assured me that he would get back to me. After a few more days of hearing nothing, I called again and left a message to ask him to call me. He never did. We have heard nothing from them since. We cut our losses and purchased a new stove. We wasted about three weeks without a stove, and $130 from trying to work with Barron Electric. I recommend that, if you choose to use them, then do not pay anything until a successful repair has been effected, and expect to wait weeks. read more

Do not shop here, we bought a used oven here and the button was giving us trouble since the day we bought it. I notified them a few days after we bought it and they said to "wait and see if it gets any worse". After a little more than a month it stopped working completely. They said that they only guarantee their products to work for 30 days and refused to help me or return my calls even though they are the ones who told me to "wait and see if it got any worse". Had they not said that, I would have just warrantied it immediately before they 30 days were up. It's as if that was their intention to run out of the 30 day window to prevent me from using the warranty. Definitely would suggest people to buy new since it doesn't actually cost much more anyways and if you do buy used, avoid Barron's Appliances at all costs. We are now out $600 for the used stove and delivery from Barron's and we now have to spend another $750 for a new one from Costco which we should have just bought in the first place. read more

I have had a couple bad experiences with this business. I am a huge supporter of private business but I won't be going back and I can not recommend. You can order everything you need off eBay and Amazon. Small business owners won't stay in business unless they provide excellent customer service. unbelievable Poor service no knowledge does not care totally unprofessional Service guy named Greg apparently the owners son Guess he does not care its daddy's business Lives in Parksville but charges over 115 bucks just to knock on your door then 90 bucks a hour to do anything unbelievable Now you won't believe this he came for warranty on my fridge it was not cooling said I needed a new door did not look behind or check anything else. Then I get a call no door is available. DID NOT NEED DOOR NEEDED NEW FRIDGE The fridge stopped cooling so I went online for advise I pulled the back off and touched this black thing looked like a mushroom it was so hot that it almost burnt my hand it was the compressor burnt out I phoned the manufacturer told him what I found and they are sending me a new fridge DO NOT CALL BARRONS THEY DONT CARE AND IT WILL COST AN ARM AND A LEG AND THEY STILL CAN'T FIX IT read more

My 6 yr old Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine sounded like a giant coffee grinder during the spin cycle so I called several appliance repair shops who all told me that it was garbage and to buy a new machine. I didn't like the idea of throwing a 6 yr old appliance in the trash so I tried Barron's on the suggestion of a neighbour. I'm glad I did. I spoke to Keith Barron who was very helpful; I ordered a new bearing kit from Barron's on Monday and it arrived on Tuesday. Keith and his staff were very helpful in making sure that I had everything that I needed to do the repair myself, one of the technicians even took the time to explain the procedure to me. Thanks to Barron's and a little bit of elbow grease, my washing machine is purring along like new instead of being recycled and turned into a Ford. read more
