Staff and location are great. First time trying it out? No problem. They'll work with you and make sure that you can do the class.

As a business owner for many years I am very disappointed in the practices at Pure Barre. During my first month I was sick several days. When my first month ended all the left over sessions were removed from my account. I assumed, (yes I know the adage) that the sessions were removed from my account due to me scheduling and cancelling my classes, even though I tried to cancel within the 4 hour window I was told about. In December the facility cancelled several classes. Primarily the 8:30 class I used. Also, during December there was family illnesses that required my full attention, and I only scheduled one class and missed it. In addition to removing a session from my account I was charged an additional $15.00. I could live with that, not that I liked it. However when my month ended, not at month end, my sessions were once again deleted. Obviously I missed the memo of this practice. This made my decision to cancel my membership, which I obviously still paid for in January. May I suggest that you make sure that in the future you provide written rules to new members. I never received anything written about any of these policies. Enjoy a Blessed Day!

Their specialty is Barre, yet I've attended many specialty classes such as Tap N Power and Barre Boot Camp. However, Yoga Flow is my definite favorite by far. Calli's classes are challenging, yet comforting, and she always pushes us to try just a bit more and strive for constant improvement. You'll love her spirit and care for her classmates, which is why I keep coming back. Tip: they usually run summer month long specials for educators and flexible class packages for everyone.

They charged me for a 4th month without my consent. When I contacted them for a refund (via phone, email, and social media) they waited TEN days to respond and then didn't honor my request for a refund. They claimed they sent me an email in May saying that my membership would automatically renew unless I contacted them and requested otherwise. I had zero email communication from their studio stating this bizarre policy. Also, what is the point of selecting a 3 month membership if it will continue auto renewing forever? I had to contact my credit card company and they've filed a claim against them. Although I enjoyed the workouts, I can't recommend a fitness center with unethical business practices.

Instructors and the front desk people know and learn your name, which makes you feel very welcome. As far as the exercise goes, it's a challenging class that actually gets harder the more that you go. Over the year, I've lost weight, feel stronger and overall better. Going to class has become a bit addicting. Another thing that I love about the Bar Method is that they offer a variety of classes that are easy to schedule online or on an app. It's easy to work into my daily schedule. Additionally, since I travel for work, I'm able to attend classes in other cities (for a fee). I've had a hard time sticking to other exercise because of my weird schedule. The other great thing about the class is that you don't necessarily sweat a whole lot-- I never feel like I absolutely have to shower afterwards. It sounds dumb, but it makes a huge difference in the amount of time taken out of your day. You are able to go to a noon class and then can go to a meeting at 1:30 and not look like a wreck. I encourage anyone looking into trying the program to sign up for a month and to go as often as you can. Going to one class does not do much for you, but attending 3-4 classes a week definitely makes a huge difference.

I had been a member of Tru fit going on 2 years. I know both of the owners...especially Angie as I…read morefollowed and supported her in her move from the YMCA to her own facility. I walked into the gym one day...mind you I am 8 months pregnant and still working out 5 days a week and prior to being pregnant, on that same schedule...I was greeted by the male owner ....Jeffrey...with "hey fatty." I was taken aback and honestly didn't know what to say. You don't ever call a woman fat, or a person in general...but much less a pregnant woman...ESPECIALLY when your profession is in the fitness arena...and when you are walking into a gym to better yourself. I thought on it, and the more I thought about it, the more upset I got. Being that he is older, and should know better, I thought it was worth posting on Facebook...not mentioning their company nor their names... a general "PSA" stating that "Men...just little word for the wise...Don't greet a pregnant woman with "hey fatty" its not cute, you aren't funny and you look and sound like an a**hole" I went to the gym like normal the following day thinking it would be discussed, however it wasn't. I had my baby shower there....(prescheduled) that Sunday and then the following Monday I received a letter from the male partial owner....Jeffrey...and it was now stated that I had caused "disruptions" and that I was no longer going to be accepted as a client. I felt like this was for intimidation. He was the one that called me "fatty" and should have been saying sorry, instead Angie let him further bully me by letting a man...vs a woman...give me this letter ...all a intimidation technique which, in my opinion is even more disgusting. Even the owners mom directed me to him versus simply explaining herself or directing me to Angie to discuss my membership. I have never been notified of these "disruptions" and have spoken to other instructors and they were clueless as to what they were talking about. On top of the fact that if I was so "disruptive" why would you let my friend plan my baby shower there...and take her money for doing so?! Makes no sense ....just bad business and a reflection of the people that own this facility. So basically, instead of saying sorry, I was not only body shamed, I was then further shamed as a "disruption" ...basically ...trying to make him calling me "fatty" my fault and then kicking me out of the gym for sticking up for myself..vs saying sorry, that never should have been said...and was very unprofessional. All of this is a form of bullying. I took it as "you called me out for something I shouldn't have said, so I'm not only going to make up things about you, I'm going to kick you out of my club....and not even think twice about just apologizing for the unprofessional slanderous comment. I'm writing this review in hopes that women will join in making a stand to stop this behavior. We are all judged too closely on our body image as it it...much less having to worry about it walking into a gym... and being called "fatty" ...especially from someone who's profession is fitness. You go to the gym to better yourself not only physically but also mentally, and that can't be accomplished when you are being body shamed...with no remorse.

Workout classes can be intimidating and having a forever injury that requires modification can make it feel even scarier however, the employees always make sure to welcome new people show them around. I find that before classes (particularly a more full class) there will be socialization between members/attendees and it's not just with people they know, rather with whoever is standing nearby. Of course no one is forcing conversations if people don't wish to be social, but it just feels extra welcoming. The instructors never make you feel left out or like a burden if you need modifications. Having done barre for a while, I'm pretty good at doing my own, however without signaling anyone out they'll offer and demonstrate different modifications for each move and encourage people to take what they need. It's nice to be reminded that this is your workout, and the way you do it doesn't have to fit perfectly into a certain look or move. They also offer hands on modifications, which you can tell them if you'd rather not receive them, but the modifications are never forceful (I think most group fitness people have experienced a modifications from a good intentioned teacher that was a little too zealous - that's never happened to me at Barre3). This is a great place for beginners, for people who are feeling a little alone on starting a fitness/barre journey, for regulars, and for all the in-betweeners. It's a welcoming and inclusive environment, that encourages modifications, all skill levels, and support where ever you need it. However, don't be fooled by all the niceness too much, because the workout will still absolutely kick your butt and is harder than you think - but it's delivered in a way that's always encouraging. Also, the free parking is a major plus of this location! You can park in the attached garage or street parking nearby. For the garage I use the call box and let them know I'm there for barre3 but make sure you get the door code from an employee before your visit, because you'll need that to enter the 2nd door.
