Although I'm not typically a person who takes classes on Sunday mornings, I decided to join today because I love Kamaria's classes. Halfway through class today, there was an emergency outside of the room that required Kamaria to step out. Without a beat a member, who was obviously a seasoned instructor, stepped up and guided the class to completion. The class flow was seamlessly and the instructions continued perfectly. It's hard to imagine that an emergency had just taken place. I realized how hard it may be to find instructors, but to have such passionate student/teachers who care as much about other's well being as their own is inspiring. This is truly a COMMUNITY

If this is your first time, like they said, make sure to give yourself 15-minutes so you can find the space and navigate the studio. It isn't too hard to find it but I can imagine if you're in a rush how that can be confusing. The space itself is so clean and beautiful, it makes you want to exercise. As soon as you walk in you are greeted by someone who checks you in and everyone is so kind and helpful! They have lockers at this location in addition to a bathroom. I bought a lot of class credits during their Black Friday sale but once that is used up, I plan on investing in a membership!

Some instructors are better with explaining how to do the movements correctly. I really have enjoyed my classes with Taylor and Avery (best music as well). I've taken classes with 5 other instructors as well. Another trend I've noticed is the lack of inclusivity. I've been to other workout studios and there's usually a culture of kindness, here I'll smile at the women and they will literally look at me like or just looking up/down at you... it seems oddly competitive? My other experience as well is one of the instructors kept calling me by the name of the only other Asian girl in the studio, I didn't notice it until midway through class. Lastly I think the cost for 8 classes a month for $200 is a bit steep when looking at Solidcore/Core power yoga unlimited classes are $180 per month. Something to note! I definitely would've kept going if the cost made sense and I could frequent classes with solid instructors.

I am leaving this review to document serious concerns regarding the conduct of instructor Sikira…read moreAlexander and her ability to maintain appropriate personal and professional boundaries. Sikira and I initially connected through our shared college background after I recognized her at the Pilates studio. We developed a brief friendship outside the studio. Over time, I became increasingly uncomfortable with her behavior, which I experienced as competitive, jealous, intrusive, and inappropriate. This included an excessive interest in my personal finances, spending habits, and material possessions. I found the financial scrutiny and comparisons particularly inappropriate and indicative of an unhealthy friendship dynamic. I also believe colorism played a role in this dynamic. As a dark-skinned Black woman, I felt that my confidence, financial independence, and the life I've built were viewed through a lens of competition and perceived superiority by Sikira, a light-skinned Black woman. Her repeated characterization of me as someone who thinks she's better than others felt less like an observation about my behavior and more like resentment toward my independence and circumstances. I found those dynamics troubling and inappropriate. The friendship ultimately ended following an incident in which Sikira physically postured toward me, hovered over me, clenched and shook her fist, and appeared to be attempting to provoke a physical altercation. At 34 years old, I have no interest in entertaining that kind of behavior. That incident was the breaking point. I chose not to engage, ended the friendship, blocked her, and removed myself from the social circle. My decision to end the friendship was clear. However, rather than respecting that boundary, my decision was repeatedly met with accusations that I thought I was better than her or that I was unwilling to open up. The issue was never a lack of explanation. I simply did not want to maintain the friendship. Months later, Sikira returned to the studio. I deliberately avoided further interaction. I did not approach her, communicate with her, or attend her classes. Nevertheless, I experienced a change in the treatment I received from another instructor, including comments suggesting that I needed to open up more. Given the history and timing, I became concerned that Sikira was using her interpersonal relationship with another instructor to bring a personal dispute into the professional environment and influence how I was treated as a client. I find the possibility of staff relationships being used to exert social pressure on clients particularly concerning. I am also concerned about the discussion of private interpersonal matters with other clients and classmates. Personal disagreements should not become studio-wide conversations or influence the atmosphere of a shared fitness environment. Ultimately, this is a matter of boundaries. There is a clear distinction between a personal friendship and a professional relationship. An instructor should understand that a client is not obligated to provide friendship, personal access, financial transparency, or emotional vulnerability. Declining a friendship should not result in intimidation, repeated interpersonal pressure, or attempts to involve other staff members. I consider the behavior I experienced bullying, and I believe management should take these concerns seriously. Clients should be able to attend classes without feeling pressured, intimidated, or subjected to personal conflict because they have chosen to disengage from an instructor outside the professional setting.

Immediately upon entering, I was welcomed by the smell of palo santo and a sign reading "Be Here Now". The decor was clean and somehow minimalist yet cozy at the same time. Staff was super friendly and patient checking me in. They have a small locker area, two private bathrooms, and one shower. It's a small space so don't expect a full on locker room but they do seem to make the most of the space they have. The studio itself was well heated -- definitely more of a dry heat than I'm used to but it felt great. Large windows looked out to the Hampden Avenue "LOVE" mural. Great natural light. The blocks were high quality and I love that they use microfiber towels for cleaning equipment instead of single use wipes. The instructor, Margot, was excellent. The "South" practice features a vinyasa flow that quickens in pace throughout class. It's my understanding that the South flow is the same every time, regardless of instructor, so you can really start to turn your brain off the more you get to know the sequence. There were queues for optional, more advanced poses that I appreciated as well. Margot's voice was super soothing and her queuing was spot-on. There was also breathwork at the end of class which was actually the most challenging part for me! I will definitely be back to try more of Arrow's classes.

The room is relatively dark but has colored light the the instructor controls, the music is loud, and everyone rides as a group. Again, wasn't sure I would like it. I hate going to clubs, I generally don't like loud music or dancing... but something about the combination really works. There are a lot of instructors and ever one is slightly different, so you do get some variety from class to class. The instructors are very friendly, and all of the other patrons have been similarly kind and encouraging. Beyond just being a good spin gym, this place is very well run.
