We stopped by the first night to pickup some coffee, a chocolate chip cookie treat, and a box of macrons to go. The shop is absolutely adorable from entrance to exit! Even before entering we loved the adorable building with perfect blue paint with white trim on the red brick. The building is well maintained and clean. While it is small, they keep the space streamlined and open. The baked good window, the sweet treats fridge, and coffee/tea areas are all distinct with their own personalities and delicious displays. On top of the clean and inviting space, prices were reasonable for such high quality products and staff were friendly and inviting. The line can sometimes be long, but it is worth the wait. Lots to love here! Back to the food, the chocolate chip cookie didn't make it far. We ate it right outside and loved every decadent bite. The cold brew was refreshing and tasty. We ate the macrons throughout the day and loved every bite! My favorites were the lemon and pistachio. My husband's favorites were the vanilla and birthday cake. The flavors were very prominent and delicious. Yum! Our final day, we wanted to try the breakfast! While I got ready at the Airbnb, my husband went to get the 2 Empanada Meal that comes with a fruit cup. We also got cold brew coffee and a Chipa. Everything was so scrumptious and fresh! The fruit cup was a perfect healthy pair to the baked goods. The empanadas were both great. We tried the "Egg, Sausage, & Cheddar" and "Egg White, Tomato, Basil, Spinach & Parmesan" empanadas. Both were great and we couldn't pick a favorite. We were glad we got both. The chipa was also so good...unlike anything we've had before. Per their website, it is a "Savory Cheese Biscuit made with tapioca flour, Cheddar cheese, & Parmesan cheese. Gluten Free." If you have never tried a Chipa, we would recommend it! And once again, the cold brew was perfect! Galena Bakehouse has won our hearts and tummies! We look forward to stopping by the next time we are in town!

The one continued to bite her nails as we were looking at flavors. We didn't go wash her hands and asked if we knew what we would like. Nope, we turned around and walked right back out. The sweet bakery owner showed up at her house with the gorgeous cupcakes and my friend was out of town. She felt HORRIBLE for making such a mistake. She told the bakery owner she was SO sorry. She took full blame for it. Instead of taking the cupcakes back to her bakery and selling them herself, she told my friend to keep them, NO CHARGE and she'll be happy to make another bunch of cupcakes on the right date and deliver them as planned at the same price. The owner said "Hey, life happens and I get it. Just enjoy the cupcakes". My friend was so blown away.
