Attempted to buy a vehicle from Baron BMW, was passed from Jenna to Ryan Bell. Received information on the vehicle and agreed to purchase with proof of funds ready on Wednesday. Ryan told us that he would be out of office Thursday, and that the vehicle would be going into the shop on Friday for reconditioning prior to sale. No word from any salesperson Thursday, no word on Friday. Multiple calls to Ryan on Friday and Saturday went unanswered. Calling the dealership on Saturday asking to speak to a salesperson somehow transferred me to Ryan, who then informed me that he had sold the vehicle Friday morning, now citing a previously undisclosed policy that sales cannot roll over month to month, even though we had agreed to purchase prior to the end of month. I have been four times and never been impressed with their lack of organization, but since they were bought out by this discount dealership parent company it has really gone down hill. They are still expecting $3,000 to $5,000+ for basic service visits, but they will only pay for one credit card terminal for 8 to 6 service advisors to use leaving them all huddled around waiting. On top of which it apparently runs everything as debit so if you have an actual credit card they are saying the charge won't go through without a PIN which on a normal credit card is a cash advance which charges MUCH more intrest. So the same card you used 6 months ago is now not acceptable as payment to them. Then the 12 year old service advisor will live down to the Gen Z stereo type and ask YOU want to do to solve their broken systems problem. read more

Purchased a vehicle from the dealership in December it took them until January 29 to send my registration paperwork out. I actually asked for it to be expedited, but that was wholly ignored. I also called to follow up no call back. They only gave me a 60 day paper tag which is now expired, so here I am with no plates, expired tags and I can't drive my $55,000 vehicle. I tried emailing Ryan Bell who sold me the car to send me new paper tags, but I haven't received a response. Don't buy a vehicle from here if you plan on driving it. read more

They got me in right away. Even though they told me it was normal, I wasn't sure so they ran it thru a complete check finding nothing wrong. Cooper was great in explaining it. Upon arrival told that they don't know any Rebecca but will check on the car. Told that the car was not available, must have just been sold, but the have a similar model available. Deceitful, liars, and will do anything to get out of fixing your car. This place gets absolutely ZERO stars. When you take your car in for a RECALL you expect a dealership to fix said recall. Baron lied in all aspects to get out of fixing this Mini frm recall properly. Why? Now that's the real question. They have tried to put all the blame on their customer. The manager, Joe, saying to review the video sent is the biggest cop out from the scenario and clearly lets everyone know he does not want to take responsibility for this situation. We've reviewed the video, and the video is them blaming us that the sunroof was open, WHICH IS NOT A DIAGNOSIS. This sunroof has never been open in our possession, however when the car was finally returned the sunroof was open by them and the car was completely damaged and completely inoperable by their hands. We have pictures and proof of everything. This management is some of the worst I've seen in a large company. Even Mini USA discredits what they've done in this situation (which we have had multiple conversations with) this says everything you need to know. Joe is one of the slimiest managers and how he holds that position just shows that this company doesn't care about their customers. read more

Subject: Extremely Disappointing CPO Experience at Baron BMW - Buyer Beware! My recent attempt to purchase a Certified Pre-Owned 2023 BMW 760i from Baron BMW was, without a doubt, the worst dealership experience I have ever encountered. As an out-of-state buyer who frequently searches nationwide for vehicles, I was excited to work with what I hoped would be a reputable BMW dealership. Unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. After agreeing on a price and traveling to inspect the vehicle and sign paperwork, numerous issues arose. The Certified Pre-Owned documentation provided was a rudimentary Word document with checkboxes, lacking the detailed multi-point inspection reports I've received from other BMW dealerships recently. Furthermore, the tire measurements were presented as a single number for each tire, instead of the standard twelve measurements (three per tire) to indicate a thorough assessment. Upon inspecting the vehicle, I discovered a noticeable 4-inch scratch. More concerningly, my measurements indicated the tire tread depth was around 2.8mm. According to BMW's CPO guidelines (and common sense), this is below the minimum requirement. When I raised these concerns, particularly regarding the tires, I was met with resistance from the management. The manager, Nick Klepper, was dismissive and unprofessional. He insisted the car passed CPO inspection and refused to consider any improvements, stating unequivocally that even if the tires were below 3mm, it didn't matter. His attitude was that, as a high-volume CPO dealer in the Midwest, their process was infallible, and my concerns were irrelevant. His inspection shows 3.1 on one tire and 3.3 on the other three. This strongly suggested to me that Baron BMW's priority is to quickly flip vehicles with minimal reconditioning, evidenced by their lack of detail to the CPO and an attempt to push a non-removable $699 CalTrex Resistall application. Despite my salesperson being helpful and the service manager, Joe, initially seeming willing to address the tire issue, the final decision from Nick, Brandon, and the GM was that spending a mere $2,000 on tires to bring the vehicle up to CPO specification was not "worth keeping a happy customer." This is unacceptable for a dealership selling a vehicle under the Certified Pre-Owned banner. I was even told that the tires would be replaced (after I walked out and was killing the deal) only to have that promise broken by management when I asked for it in writing once I started signing paperwork. The left hand does not seem to know what the right hand is doing at Baron. This lack of integrity and commitment to their CPO program is deeply troubling. Based on my experience, I strongly advise potential buyers, especially those looking for a genuine Certified Pre-Owned BMW, to stay far away from Baron BMW. Their practices regarding CPO certification appear questionable, their management can be rude and dismissive, and their commitment to customer satisfaction seems nonexistent. I will be filing a formal complaint with BMW North America regarding this dealership's apparent disregard for their CPO standards. I hate dealing with their service department--every single time my car needs work, there's an issue, or they conveniently "forget" to tell me something important. Just this Wednesday, I brought my car in for a check engine light and a grinding sound. But of course, they magically couldn't hear the noise, and since the check engine light had cleared, they apparently couldn't diagnose it. Yet somehow, they had no problem bringing up other issues--issues I had already mentioned last year. The inconsistency in communication is beyond frustrating. As a paying customer, I shouldn't have to deal with this level of incompetence. The new service manager definitely has the service department running with much better flow. Unfortunately, Luke, my favorite and usual advisor decided to explore other opportunities, however, the overall customer service and the attention to each customer's needs(speaking on a personal experience) truly makes it feel as though you're their only customer, when it's actually one of many. I wouldn't ever recommend anyone to get their car fixed at collision. The entire reason for my review and interaction with the service manager was due to severe carelessness, lack of communication, knowledge and most importantly accountability when it comes to repairing a car. I made a serious mistake having my bmw repaired at the collision center. You'd think $10k and 2ish months to repair a vehicle, there wouldn't still be significant issues 8 months later. after having my car back, had it not been for the service dept at baron bmw, this comment wouldn't be where and other avenues would've most definitely been taken. I did learn though that the service center does do paint and some body repair, which I wish I'd known. Just because it had baron on the title doesn't give it the same integrity or reputation. read more

If you expect a high level of service from a luxury car dealership, you may be disappointed with Baron. We purchased a 2025 X5 last month. The delivery was subpar and my wife left with minimal instruction on how to use the technology in her amazing and expensive vehicle. At the time of this purchase, I also test drove another vehicle I was thinking about purchasing for myself. I returned today to test drive another as I am leaning toward a different model than I drove previously. The same sales manager who shook my hand last month when I bought a vehicle would not give the sales person permission for me to test drive, only open the doors and sit which was not what I needed to make a purchase decision. It was very possible that I would have purchased one of the cars I wanted to drive. I expect this sort of behavior from car dealerships in general but not a luxury BMW dealership where I just purchased another vehicle. Tried to call the GM. No response. Baron used to be great. No longer. Take your money elsewhere if you want the level of service you should expect from a luxury car dealership. read more

I arrived a few minutes early before my appointment for an oil change. We checked in and were sent to the lobby. We waited over an hour with no update or introduction to a service advisor. My husband called to check the status of my car and they informed him the oil change was done. The delay was them checking for a quote for a new battery, which we knew needed to be replaced. Here's the thing, BMW service is expensive. It's a luxury brand. My experience with the sales department was stellar. I would not mind having them replace my battery, but after this? I'm good. So many employees walked past my daughter and I without acknowledging us or giving us an update. Not even asking us if we have been helped. Nothing. It's sad that my husband had to call. I just checked my phone and they sent a service email because they "found" additional repairs. I guess that was the update. Maybe the State Line location will do better by us next time. read more

I recently had the disservice of visiting the service department here for tire problems. All they were concerned about was getting me to purchase a full set of tires instead of listening to what I actually needed... I have had a problem with my driver side rear tire needing air and with the weather changing constantly I thought that was the problem, so I just refilled as needed. But when the problem kept occurring I decided to take it in to have it checked... My regular dealership was booked a few weeks out... Anyway, when I arrived the guy I dealt with wasn't friendly, and acted as if he didn't want to help me. I proceeded to tell him that I had the tire and wheel warranty on my car and he said he couldn't pull it up. I then asked well do I need to call the dealership I purchased it from, and he goes well yeah since I can't pull it up here. Here is where I have a problem I'm telling you I have this and YOU as my service attendant should be the one calling. Then you tell me they said there isn't anything wrong with the tire but you're at 3mm and we recommend replacing them.. Next problem I am not about to buy tires from you when I have a 5yr warranty on them, explain how that makes sense! I drive 2hrs to see a friend and he tells there's a nail in the tire at hand, so then I'm pissed because WTF! So I call my dealership and they fit me in to change the tire the next day and when I arrived this service attendant then tells me there's a nail in the right rear tire a well so now I'm really Pissed wondering if Baron even checked anything? Or did they just want to sell me tires. To me because I'm an African American woman and it's automatically assumed I don't know anything about cars I think it's the latter... so the moral of my story is if you want QUALITY SERVIC from polite and respectful people, I wouldn't suggest taking your vehicle to BARON BMW because they are trash and treat you as such!!!! read more

My BMW Mini depreciated from $16,000 down to just a $3,500 trade-in value in only two weeks. And get this--just nine days after I paid $16,000 for the vehicle, everything started to malfunction. I discovered slime buildup in the oil tank--something I confirmed by dropping the tank and taking the engine apart. Finding slime in the oil tank means the vehicle missed multiple oil changes it should have had. That's a clear sign of neglect, and it indicates serious problems ahead. There's no quick fix because certain mechanisms and components in the engine are not supposed to have slime buildup, and once it's there, you just can't get all of it out. It's obvious the vehicle was badly maintained. They even left nuts and bolts unscrewed inside the engine compartment where they supposedly did work. It's almost laughable that they performed an oil change, yet I could see a huge cloud of slime at the bottom of the tank. And the crazy part? Barron BMW was responsible for the maintenance throughout the vehicle's entire life--the same place I was trying to sell it back to. Additionally, when I offered to trade the vehicle I purchased just nine days earlier--despite the fact that I made it clear that money was not an issue and I was willing to get a brand new vehicle--they outright refused to accept it as a trade-in. I explained that I simply wanted to move on and get a different car, but they repeatedly told me, "We don't do that here," and refused to consider accepting the vehicle back. Their rigid stance left me feeling frustrated and disrespected, especially given the circumstances of the vehicle's poor condition and the fact that I was willing to resolve the situation amicably. To make matters worse, I also found that the head gasket was blown and needed replacing. At that point, I'd say at least $10,000 worth of damage had been done to a vehicle I paid $16,000 for. And they knew about these issues--they just chose not to tell me. Now, I really hope no one else falls into this trap. When your car is in for repairs and you need a loaner, they will try to give you the runaround, acting stingy and telling you there are no cars available. They'll make you feel like you're bothering them just for asking. Honestly, if you're thinking about buying a vehicle from them, you're making a huge mistake. Don't let some fancy reputation fool you--these people do not care about your well-being. You're better off saving yourself the headache and heartbreak. Trust me, you don't want to go through what I did. And on the flip side, I've never been happier since switching to my brand new Tesla. No shady dealings, no problems, nothing complicated--just a smooth, straightforward experience. Getting it was incredibly easy, and now that I'm driving one, it feels like I'm piloting a spaceship from some other planet. The technology, the comfort, the sheer innovation--it's truly magnificent. Unfortunately, this is my last resort review after getting no action from Service department on multiple extended warranty issues. We own 3 BMWs, 2 bought from this dealership. We also purchased extended warranties, windshield protection, added door ding protection, tire protection and few other services to protect our purchases. In theory, these plans sound great, but buyer beware the fine print and the fact most of these are third party insurance providers that BMW service passes you along to. They handle any BMW direct contracts, but windshield, body, tires are all through third party providers and you deal with them, not your friendly BMW finance person who sold them to you, nor the BMW service center. We have had hassles with the windshield replacement plan and the tire replacement plan. Both tried to skirt around the fine print and not provide service until we pushed back. BMW helped on one after a few months of back and forth. The tire issue, the service department completely washed their hands of. Blake was our service rep, and he didn't bother trying to submit it. Said it would not be covered due to tread depth being JUST out of spec, and quoted us an inflated price to replace the rear tires. We saved $400 going to Discount Tires for the EXACT model tire WITH a protection plan that Discount Tire handles directly. We have gone back and forth for some sort of resolution with the service department since they dropped the ball, but Blake handed off to Zach Smith, the manager. Communication is sparse at best, and I've been ghosted for 2 weeks now. Moral of the story, think LONG and HARD about the add on warranties and protection plans. Ask WHO services these plans. Ask for ALL the contract, not just the front page you sign when closing. A lot of these plans are on the open market you can buy yourself, and since you deal with them anyways, might as well do it yourself since the service department is not in that business outside of any BMW warranty plan. read more

Craziest experience I've ever delt with, so drive down 70 miles to look at a Yukon xl they had, would not negotiate at all, so I caved agreed to pay what they proposed, went through the whole process of getting the funds for it, then I am told that they have to hold the vehicle for 10 days for a check from my bank to clear, WHAT!!! So I offer a wire transfer, 3-5 days for that to clear they would hold the vehicle, offer cash, can't take that much cash, then I am told that my specific bank they refuse to business with. I've never been jerked around so much in my life. So I guess if my money isn't good enough for baron or group 1 or what ever it's called then I guess o well. They make tons of Yukons I'll spend my money elsewhere. Honestly tho, it's probably more that they wanted me to finance it with them so they make some money off a buy rate through financing. We had an appointment with service department to have our tires balanced and rotated. We marked the tires to make sure that the tires had been rotated. They were not. We mentioned this to a service rep, who asked us, "what did you want done"? We said, "what we paid for, rotate and balance". Then he said, "was there something specifically wrong?" We said, "it was time to balance and rotate the tires." He told us that they don't rotate from side to side - but none of the tires had been rotated. We requested that they balance and rotate our tires as we paid for them to do, but he walked away. He then got our service rep, Isabella. She wanted to know what the problem was. We repeated what we had said to the man. She attempted to find the tech who worked on our car, but he was at lunch. She brought another tech out and they looked at the tires, acted confused as to what we were saying, and took some pictures. She wanted us to wait to speak with tech, but we had somewhere to be, so she said she would call us. When we had the car outside in the sun, we noticed the wheels were dirty and the existing weights had dirt and grime, with no new weights put on any of the tires. My husband called for the service manager, who was not available, but called him back. Service manager said he saw our car up on the lift. He claims he saw them rotate the tires, but we marked the tires and none of the tires were rotated and were not balanced. After poor service experience, we noticed on Yelp that this is a common occurrence with BMW Baron service department. We will no longer go to this BMW service department and instead go to the other one. No integrity or true accountability at this location. read more

From Joe the Service Director to Patrick the Service Advisor, they made me feel like I was bringing my private jet into be serviced. After having the car for 1 month, a freak accident happened and passing a golf course, someone's golf ball hit my car and put a significant dent just above the window. The dealership didn't blink when they saw the damage. When I picked up my car, it was serviced, clean, and I could not find the spot where the dent was. It's unfortunate that after being a customer since 1992 and owning 9 BMWs and 4 currently, and having attended their Performance Driving School and Motorcycle Riding Academy, I have come to the conclusion that Baron no longer values its customers. Over the years, one X5 caught fire, a motorcycle smoldered and an X3 had a major engine Timing Chain issue which resulted in BMW replacing the engine. Throughout the years I always believed that BMW and Baron were ethical in their business practices. No longer do I feel this about Baron and my feelings about BMW have decreased significantly, too, based on the N20 Engine Timing Chain issue on my 2013 X3. I took my 2013 X3 in for service due to a Drivetrain Malfunction error message. I was told that it was the battery (this seemed strange, but agreed to have it replaced since they are the experts). The battery was replaced and I was told that the battery which was replaced was not a BMW OEM battery and that was part of the problem. Humm, strange as it was Baron who did the service work! I asked that the battery be kept so I could better understand why I was charged for a BMW OEM battery, but was not given one. No explanation was given and the battery was not kept, either. My request was ignored by everyone. Since the battery didn't solve the Drivetrain Malfunction issue, I took my x3 back in for service. I was then told that it needed a new Timing Chain! What! It was replaced a few years back and the new one only had 36,000 miles on it. A BMW Timing Chain should last 150,000 miles or more. The first replacement was partially paid for by BMW. I was told this time that they would not assist in paying for it and neither would Baron. Even though it was obvious that it was related to the same issue which BMW was sued and lost. The repair would cost me $5000. Plus, $400 for the battery which really wasn't needed and the aftermarket battery I was charged for. Throughout all this, I was assigned 3 different Service Advisors which meant I had to explain the situation 3 times, too. After complaining to Baron's Service Director and BMW corp. I was offered a 15% discount ($700). Upon further complaining I was then offered a 3-year oil change plan (valued about $300!) for a total of about $1000 or 20% value. In the past, before Baron was sold to another dealer, I would routinely get 20% because of being a valued long-term customer, so being offered 20% now was a non-starter. I expected at least 50%; splitting the cost with BMW since it was obviously the same issue they were sued over. After more complaining, I was finally able to get $400 refunded for the fraudulent installation of non-BMW OEM parts in my car. Baron refused to refund the $400 for the new battery which wasn't even needed since it didn't resolve the Drivetrain Malfunction. Baron continually pushed back that it was my fault for the Timing Chain issue since I didn't change the oil often enough! Even though I was well within the 10,000 - 15,000 miles recommendation based on BMW's own documents for vehicles before 2014. Also, between oil changes, when I would bring my X3 into Baron, the service ticket would say that they performed a Multi-Point Inspection which never indicated that an oil change was necessary before I had it done by Baron. Also, the Owner's Manual clearly states that the vehicle automatically contacts my dealer (Baron) when service is due from the vehicle! I never have received an email from Baron that it needed an oil change. In addition, the dash only shows when service is due for literally 1 second before it disappears. I was told that i needed to constantly go through the menu system and check on when the next service is due and if I am traveling I needed to stop and go to a dealer and have the oil changed right away before continuing on my trip for more than 100 miles! Really! I don't know anyone who does this! I have seen a Check Engine indication on the dash when nothing even shows up under the menu system. So all their blaming me doesn't hold any water! It is all an excuse to get me to go away or pay $5000 for an engine defect that isn't my fault. Bottom line.....it appears fraud was committed, and I was not given any reasonable explanation about why they installed a non BMW OEM battery. I was not refunded the cost for the new battery that wasn't even needed since it didn't solve the problem I took the X3 in for. And BMW and Baron didn't care about the engine Timing Chain issue which is well known to be a BMW design defect and upon which BMW lost a class action lawsuit. So, after 30+ years, I have decided my next BMW will not come from Baron as well as my service work will go elsewhere too. Baron acts like they care (they smile, call you, text you and communicate with you); however, at the end of the day, they don't really care about a long-term valued customer; at least that it my experience. read more

I've been a long time customer but don't trust this company since they were purchased a few years ago. Service has gone downhill. They do a diagnostic and recommend repairs during each visit but don't seem to remember shar they've done before. In the course of two years and 20,000 miles they've recommended that I change a water pump that had already been changed, installed a thermostat that I later found out after checking receipts had already been replaced - and ten months later their replacement leaked and also had to be replaced, and recommended i replace my CV joints. They had replaced them 15,000 previously. Either they do really shoddy work, or they're recommending repairs I don't need. I've also called about pricing certain services and they promise to return my call in 24 hours but then never call me back. I honestly don't know why anyone rates this place highly. Maybe newer clients have fewer problems because BMW includes maintenance over the first few years of a new car? read more

BUYER BEWARE...If you like dealing with slimy sales people and dealerships, this is your place. DO NOT GIVE THEM A DEPOSIT. We had been discussing a purchase for a new BMW from Baron BMW in Merriam, KS. We provided a $2,500 deposit on the car. The deposit was paid online and didn't say anything on the payment page about being non-refundable. It only said the deposit was non-refundable on the receipt after we paid and received our receipt. Joshua Thomas (JT) handled all of this for us. We agreed to a price on the car, but they provided numerous different price sheets which varied each time although the price of the car never changed. As noted by another reviewer here, they put options in the invoice that are not included on the price of the vehicle. I was given excuses saying they didn't include the registration fee or things of that nature, which is why the price changed. They insisted on including Resistall, which is some protectant for an additional $700. It was never explained, but only listed in the price which looked like a registration charge. I informed them I didn't want the Resistall and wouldn't pay for it since I was already paying full price for their car and not negotiating the dealer fee they also added on. When we couldn't come to an agreement and I told them I didn't want the car, they refused to refund my deposit even though nothing was signed. Joshua Thomas ceased to communicate with us after I told him we didn't want the car and requested our deposit back. This is a very dirty way to do business. All the way from N. California--this will now be my go-to dealer. I got a new car without ever stepping foot outside of my home. I completed the transaction remotely and had the vehicle transported to me. Scott K. was my client advisor... one of the easiest, most pleasant, stress-free car transaction I've experienced, and much of it is attributed to Scott. I contacted almost 10 local and out-of-state dealerships prior. I inquired about the vehicle and signed the buyer's order, all within 24 hours. Scott answered all my questions and was always professional, responsive and transparent; for details that he didn't have, he connected me with Zach. I opted for a private carrier, and Scott managed the transfer with the shipper--I didn't need to be engaged at all. After signing the buyer's order, Baron BMW prepared the paperwork and coordinated with a local, mobile notary service who came to me--it took about 20-30 minutes to sign all paperwork. The end-to-end process took about 7 days for my vehicle to be released; I'm sure it could have been done sooner, but my shipper wasn't scheduled to arrive until another week. I'm really delighted by the entire experience. And there was even a gift for me from Baron BMW--a beautifully etched bottle of wine! My previous experiences with the service center have been ok, nothing great but also not terrible. Yesterday, I brought my car in for an oil change and recall. I was not told a time estimate. I ended up being there for 4 hours. I'm 7 months pregnant and was certainly not prepared to spend half of my day there. I have always asked for a loaner if I am having more than an oil change done, but have been told they don't typically give them out. At the 3 hour mark the guy helping me gave me an update on findings, but couldn't answer any of my questions about the recommendations. Then he told me they just needed to wash my car and I would be on my way. Over 30 minutes later he let me know that he was wrong and they were finally putting the car back together. I told them not to bother washing it, because at this point I was very hungry. (Snacks are great, but maybe something more than vanilla wafers and potato chips?) I previously drove an Audi and was always given the option for a loaner, but they also had more knowledgeable, informative staff. I will not be purchasing another BMW. read more

Disappointed on the level of service when you are waiting in the lobby for a long period of time (planned to start a purchase)and a new couple walks in and you send a salesman right to them to be helped (because why?? She wore her LV bag and i didnt?)and you ignored me. Then you see me leave in my $80K Tahoe and chase after me saying ma'am can we help you now. My business will go elsewhere. You lost my business. Help who walks in the door as they come... not by who wears their designer bad or shoes. Do better. Teach your team better. read more

Are y'all ready for a little story? Well buckle on in. Too long to read? Bottom line- if you don't ask, the answer is always no, and you always, always catch more bees with honey. At the beginning of October, my X3 started to overheat. Overheating to the point where it just stopped working. I was able to get it towed to Baron. I had some work done resulting in a $3,000 repair bill, which I paid and went on my way. one week later, the engine starts to overheat again. I take her (yes, her name is miss pearl) back to Baron to see what happened. Well, apparently my engine was completely shot. This is like the equivalent of needing a heart transplant for my car- costly and timely. Because of the service I just had, they were willing to provide "goodwill assistance" for the $13,000 repair. My car is a 2019 with less than 50k miles on it and I have had no trouble with it whatsoever. It is still under warranty due to the miles, but not due to the age of the car. So this was an alarming and unexpected expense. I couldn't understand why I had repair work done, was told it was fixed only to come back and need a new engine. After a few calls, talking to corporate I was able to get in touch with the GM, Clay Schafer. Class act. I expressed my concerns and flat out asked that the engine repair be covered at 100%, with an additional warranty. Clay explained to me that in these situations they do the repair but if the issue is deep within the engine, they wouldn't know. Clay took about 24 hours to discuss with BMW corporate. And on a sunny October Monday, Clay called me to let me know the entire service would be covered. I am 100% a target for being taken advantage of. Unmarried white Female, driving a BMW with little experience with cars. And in some cases, you might be right. But I politely ran my concerns up the "chain" and ultimately got the resolution that was appropriate. My message is this: if you don't ask, politely express concerns, the answer is always no. When working with anyone, a little bit of friendly, but firm, kindness gets you so much further. I could have been a total JOCO Karen, but frankly that's not my nature and I hate it when people act like that. Use logic, common sense and find a mutual agreement. I will return to BMW as a customer because of this interaction. This is customer service 101. Do what makes sense and what is right. My sincerest gratitude to Clay and his service team. I am trying to purchase a Mini Cooper. Following is a point-by-point of my interactions: 1. Found the car that I was interested in. Sent photos of my Beetle for a trade-in offer. Dante returned with some figures that I assumed was a starting point. When I asked him how much wiggle room there was, I received a text back, which in part read, "I didn't tell you we had any intention on discounting the vehicle at all." I said I would keep looking. 2. After continuing my search, I couldn't find a comparable car in the area. I got my financing all approved, and phoned on 4/20 to ask if not negotiating was their standard procedure. I was told "It's complicated," put on hold, then asked if I wanted to speak to Dante, and I said I just want an answer to my question. Then it was negotiable ($250) if I finance through them. I declined. 3. After STILL searching and not finding something comparable in the area, I decided to suck it up and deal with them. I phoned late in the afternoon on 4/20 and asked if I could get this taken care of in one visit. Again the salesperson said "There are a lot of factors involved..." and tried to get me, again, back to Dante. I was on hold for a very long time. Then he came back on the phone and said they don't accept outside financing. I knew this couldn't be right. Then he said it would be at least 10 days for the check to clear. At that point I was done, and said so. 4. About 20 minutes later Dante called to see if I had questions about the car. I said no, and he said to me, "Well, I hear you're calling everybody asking questions." At that point I had to not-so-nicely explain that I was trying to keep anyone -them or me- from having time wasted, and I don't have time to make two trips (my farm is south of KC). Never have I had someone act like they are doing me a favor by selling me something. I am currently looking for a similar car outside of the metro, and am willing to drive to not be talked to this way. read more
