What I was told would be two day repair for my timing chain turned into a month-long experience with my car sitting in the shop. Communication was inconsistent at times, and I often felt in the dark about what was really happening. The shop initially quoted me around $2,600, then revised it to $4100 and offered a $800 discount. The total ended up at $3,908. During the repair, I was told that my dowel pin had broken in the camshaft, which required additional work. I receive a text message saying my car was ready for pickup. I came paid my balance in full. Less than a hundred feet of leaving out the parking lot my check engine light was back on and problem still existed. Im thankful I caught it in time because it was a Friday and they are closed on weekends. So it would have been my word against there's when it came time with correcting the problem. When I arrived for pickup today, the shop stated they waived an additional $800 fee for a solenoid recalibration/replacement that was directly related to the timing chain work they had just performed. I feel strongly that this should have been included in the original service and not presented as an "extra" charge after I had already paid. To their credit, I really appreciated the friendliness of the two administrative assistants, who went above and beyond to help me. They provided me with a shuttle ride home when I dropped off my car, even paid for me an Uber to pick up the loaner vehicle, and made sure I had a loaner car for the month while mine was being repaired. Those accommodations meant a lot during a very long process. The shop also test drove my car for 40+ minutes before releasing it, and the check engine light has not come back on yet. I appreciate that they ultimately covered the $800 charge, but overall the experience left me questioning trust, timelines, and transparency. If you use this shop, know that while they will work with you and provide support, you'll need to ask a lot of questions, push back on extra fees, and keep good records. The repair seems to be holding for now, but the process was much more difficult and drawn out than it should have been.

It was going to cost $12k. I've used Leibrand's in the past and knew they'd give me honest answers. They fixed the cracked head for 1/3 the price of the other shop. They were great and communicated everything I needed. They gave me 3 options to fix it along with reasonable quotes. Since I'm retired and on a fixed income, I chose the cheapest route. They fixed it but I had a related issue that showed up after driving it about 10 miles. I took the car back and left it after-hours along with a phone message explaining the problem. They called the following morning and told me what they found, fixed it and to come get it, no charge. While I may have experienced some inconvenience, I considered it minor and was treated courteously with the utmost respect. I have to say, their technicians are professional and the one who worked on my car explained what he discovered and showed me the part that failed and what I needed to do next, maintenance-wise. The work bays are the cleanest of any shop I've ever seen. I highly recommend Leibrand's, you won't regret it.

It's really hard to find an auto shop that makes me feel this comfortable given I have little knowledge about cars. I needed 2 tires replaced and call other places in town to get a quote and it was hard to get straight answer from anyone. I just needed an estimation and nothing has to be set in stone but I felt like no-one could do that. So I asked Jeff at Revline for an estimate and had a few other questions he was able to answer them and that made me feel comfortable about making an appointment and order the tires I needed. I felt like the price he quoted was fair and the approximate time for the service to be complete was definitely reasonable. I highly recommend giving them a call here if you ever need any work done on your car. They will do a great job and won't waste the whole day doing it.

After pulling apart my engine they said they needed to send it to a machine shop be because it was warped. After three weeks of having my car I asked about when I could expect it to be finished and of course I would have to wait another week because Thanksgiving was coming and they didn't work over the holiday. They had my car almost 5 weeks and after $7000 later I finally got my car. I went in to pick it up and was told for the first time they don't take checks. Scott told me, "who writes checks anymore?" Well, I do and that was so uncalled for she disrespectful. I had to pick my car up the next day because of this. So fast forward April and my car was not accelerating. I took it to them, again thinking it was still the same issue. I told Scott what the issue was and he set an appointment for me and when I brought it in he said the person that worked on my car was out on bereavement and wouldn't be back for a week. He also didn't believe what I told him was wrong over the phone because there was no engine light on. Now, as I brought it in there was a light on and he said,"oh it is acting up then?" What? He called me the next week and said they did a few diagnostic tests and still can't figure it out and I already owe like $900 and I would have to pay for it out of my pocket. Eventually, they figured out it was the catalytic converter which is right under the head gasket. I feel they should have fixed that as a part of the head gasket but another $2300 later. Scott called me and said the catalytic converter was on back order and it would be ready in September or October. It's now May. He said, "that's why I have three cars. Are you kidding me? Who has three cars just in case one car is not working? I will never go back there again and actually traded my car in for a new one. $900 in diagnostics alone. Obviously they have no ideas what they are doing. Save yourself time and money don't go there.

It was pretty hot that afternoon and they even brought us bottled water while we toiled over our repair job. Everyone was very friendly, knowledgeable and eager to help. There are a ton of auto parts stores in Lawrence, and I've done business with several of them over the years. They all seem to be ok, but everyone in my group noticed how the people at this store really went above and beyond.

So I let them charge it took it back the next day (it had charged) started vehicle once with it and now it's designed again to ,05!!! Zero sense wby they wouldn't exchange it!
