It is very comfortable, intimate, and filled with tons of friendly locals. The ladies and gentlemen who work here smiled lots and went out of their way to answer my questions about Heidelberg and the neighboring towns. They also replenished my latte many times as I entertained them with American humor, politics. With the cafe's desirable location on an old cobblestone street, the delectable drinks, sandwiches and sweets lure people walking by to lay down their roots and enjoy the cafe's treasures. Heidelberg is a romantic picturesque college town. I look forward to visiting again and spending many more afternoons at Casa del Caffe.

The walls are covered with stickers, posters and cut-out headlines. The music was from unknown origin, and I even didn't recognize some of the beers offered. The waitresses seemed to be busy with themselves, but it was ok. You don't go here to simply satisfy your thirst, you come to leave everything behind. I just wish it was always that easy.

I came in here with some friends and tried some German style pizza thing called a flammkuchem I think. It was pretty tasty and filling! The coffee here was really nice as well. I didn't get a chance to try their cakes but they looked absolutely delicious.
