This is a very pleasant Barnes & Noble to sit and relax and kill some time while I was waiting for my next meeting during the week. It had plenty of parking spots and the shops was kept clean. The people in there (staff and customers) seemed sane and did not freak me out either! Overall, I enjoyed spending a few hours there. They had a lot of selection for reading from educational materials and traveling to psychology and magazines! I loved it. I spent a lot of time browsing and reading through some of the books as I researched for my next trip...and..secretly reading magazines binging some of the news and reading up some cool psycholoy related articles as well. Time past by fast! I would love to stop by this place, grab some coffee/snacks at Starbucks inside this bookshop..and binge read again! read more

I really enjoy the atmosphere at this Barnes and Noble. They have a sitting are, besides the cafe and chairs all around so you can grab a book and take a browse through it. Nobody to rush you it's so relaxing. The selections of books is great and if you buy a membership you get other discounts. I have a reader but I like to still read a book now and again. The people are very friendly and extremely helpful. They will order a book for you if they don't have it in store. I'm a little disappointed that they don't sell reader books anymore. I had a problem with mine and went right down there to get a new one and they told me they don't sell them anymore. However, I do love the coupons they give you with your receipt, buy a cookie get one free and they are really good! read more

I went to this Barnes and Noble because they listed several games on their site that were 50% off in-store. I went over and only found 3/5 games I was looking for. When I inquired about them I was told "they're probably still packed up in the clearance boxes. There's like 40 of them and I'm not going to look through each one right now. You can leave your name, number, and email address and we will contact you when it's unpacked." Well, two weeks later I had heard no word from them and the website still listed the games as available. I bought them and was going to pick them up when I get an email cancelling half my order, the games I was told would be put on hold for me. So I ended up cancelling my order because I'm not driving 45 minutes across town to pick up half my order. I am not visiting this store again. It was a terrible experience. Especially when I called Barnes and Noble (corporate) and they had me on hold just to confirm that my order was cancelled, despite me asking them to tell me WHY the order was cancelled. read more

Incredible has all the books I like to read it does have toys and coffee but it's a really great place to get books.

I can spend hours here just browsing all the wonderful books, drinking coffee, eating my favorite pastries like orange scones and relaxing in the comfortable leather club chairs. Can't say a negative thing about Barnes & Noble, always reliable with all my newspapers available. read more

The store was very clean and well organized. They have a huge variety of books. Prices were reasonable. There was a cute kids' section. There were fun gift items and toys. Greeting cards were available. And if you want to hang out there and read your book, you could relax at the Starbucks there. read more

I replaced B&N with Borders as my favorite bookstore. As Chanel says, if you've been to one, you've been to them all. This store seems to be much darker than the Borders outlet, and the layout of the store is not conducive to finding what you are looking for without trying to find an employee. Better signage would help. Also, the idea of charging $25.00 for a one-year "membership" in their discount club is pretty lame. Borders has the same type of club, AT NO COST, and still sends out coupons and rewards. Why the difference? I'd guess that B&N just adds that to their bottom line and whoops about their profit. All major mega-bookstores are just about the same--they all carry books and magazines and pretty paper. The biggest differences are the staff and the ambience. The staff at this B&N is not quite as good as I would have expected--and certainly not as good as the staff at the store in Tempe Marketplace (AZ) where I visited two weeks ago. The ambience is only passable. I go here only when I get gift cards! read more

It's sad how excited I get to actually go into a brick and mortar bookstore, but that's how rare they seem to be these days. Even if I don't have a book in mind I can spend hours just walking up and down the aisles. They have a great selection of games, and also toys and collectibles. When looking for a unique gift for birthdays or the holidays it's a great place to shop. Don't get me wrong, I love shopping at Amazon but there's nothing quite like shopping in a real bookstore. read more

My review is based solely from my experience waiting to check out: I couldn't help but notice there were only two people working the register, all the while, there's about fifteen of us waiting to be helped. As I walked up to the check out line, I saw the folks in front of me kept switching from side to side - the sort of switching you do when you've been there for a while. Hmmm. Well, that was certainly the case; we were there for a while since the two gals at the register had some lengthy purchases they were processing; one of them repeatedly requested backup on her headset. Now here's why my review is what it is: When she called for backup, you can see the other employees on the floor touch their ear buds, so they're hearing the requests for more cashiers; none of them move. They continue walking the floor and refilling inventory, don't look towards the front to assess the situation (intentionally not making eye contact) - no one "hopped to it" to help the cashiers who were drowning. We finally got to the counter and Erika ended up being our cashier; she was understandably frazzled and grumpy. I can't blame her. Thing is, she was so grumpy that it made checking out rather uncomfortable. Small talk? Nope, tried that. She stayed stiff lipped and barely wanted to speak... I get it. Trust me, I get it. But don't take it out on the customer; I was about to walk out because of the obvious aggravation. Yeah,it was THAT uncomfortable. I gave up trying to be chipper because her attitude effected me to the point where I just wanted to pay and leave. I would've gladly donated a book towards their Christmas program, but when an employees pissiness is being taken out on me because they're not getting help from their coworkers, I don't want to contribute anymore money at that moment. Sucks how a bad attitude, one which was caused by lack of staff support, can effect a purchase that could've benefitted a child ‍ read more

I went in looking to get away from the traffic and heavy traffic on the road. I was hungry, so I went into the cafe to order a sandwich and something to drink. When the sandwich came up, I was offered chips, I said no thanks and was offered a banana instead. I ended up taking it. read more

Love this store as a whole but this location really needs to focus on the bathrooms and update it. The frame around the mirror has water damage and splintered. The sinks are rusted. The bathroom stalls are just gross. And you can imagine the floor in this type of bathroom. In such a nice store I expected the bathrooms to be a bit more kept up. It's disappointing. read more

What can I say about this place? If you've been to one Barnes and Noble, you've been to them all. This one, however, has a very laaaaaaaaarge selection of new books that I was quite impressed with. Their selection is MUCH larger than the Borders bookstore just across the parking lot. Kudo's to them for that. read more

We have been longtime customers of Barnes and Noble on the Westside in Albuquerque. We have never been offered the frequent shoppers program until tonight. We had a cashier that we had never seen before (a young blonde lady with glasses that expressed a mutual passion for books as our family), and I would love to commend her for her diligence and offering the program to us. She was very kind and very sincere. I did not catch her name, but I would like to give her a 5* rating for her exceptional customer service.
