I asked one of the employees if I could spend some time with the female Mini Schnauzer in one of the many "let's get acquainted" cubicles that they have, and it was fun finding out what type of personality she had. I thought she had a great personality, and loved to play, but her conformation wasn't the best. I thought her head was a little small. While I was with the puppy, the employee brought over documents about the puppy, and I noticed that the puppy's sire was AKC registered, but her dam was APRI registered. I knew that this meant that this puppy was not eligible for AKC registration. Petland wanted $4,850 for her, so I knew this puppy wasn't the one for me. The price was way too much for a non-AKC puppy. She was cute, though. Parking was easy to get in the big and free parking lot that is shared by all of the nearby businesses in this long outdoor strip mall. All of the dogs looked healthy, but there were instances when I thought there were too many dogs sharing the same spaces. The store didn't smell like kennels and it was well lit. It looked like this Petland is more geared toward sales of dog and cats, or more like puppies and kittens. I had seen this store before it went through a big renovation, and there is now a lot of aisle space, but the inventory of food, supplies and toys seems lacking and is nowhere near the higher level that used to be available here.

I…read morecalled multiple times asking if they could manually enter my credit card information because I was pending a new card in the mail as my old card would that tap, swipe, or insert. I was told multiple times that they could. I showed up. Our family found the perfect mini Goldendoodle. Filled out all the paper work and when I went to pay was told they couldn't enter the card manually. Working in IT, I knew that was a lie. I showed them how to do it on the clover Point of Sale system they use. They then told me that the owner wouldn't allow it to happen. I called Mr Hunt, the owner, and explained my situation and what I was told. He told me his employees know better and without saying, called me a liar and scammer. I told him to pull the recordings, but I doubt that will happen. He then offered his stores financial services which are absolutely ridiculous compared to what I currently have. They lost a substantial sale and a customer for life. I'm also aware that these front counter workers make money from sales. I feel bad that the girl helping my family missed out on this commission, but unfortunately the owner prevented that. I could tell she was heart broken. I should have read all of the ratings and took them to heart before driving this way. The only way Mr Hunt keeps this store running is by manipulating people into terrible financial deals.

My pup has a chicken allergy and the first time I went in after we found out about her allergy, they were wonderful helping me find new treats that were chicken free. Unrelated to the allergy, I have to give my pup pills for something and went looking for pill pockets. You can find Greenies Pill Pockets everywhere, and every flavor, even beef and peanut butter, has chicken as a main ingredient. I went to Pet People and they took me straight to the Health Section where they carry multiple brands, including one that has no chicken. I knew I could count on them to have what I needed and I have a very happy pup now!

This location has grooming and boarding services, but I don't use either of these services. This location also has a Banfield Pet Hospital onsite, which I haven't used. PetSmart is in a long strip mall with lots of big businesses. Parking is readily available in the large, free parking lot, as the parking lot is way too big for all of the stores. Good customer service is hit or miss here. Some of the employees readily seek customers who need help in the store, while other employee seem to actively avoid customers, hurrying away whenever they feel a customer needs assistance. This store seems to carry mostly quality items, and much them come with higher prices. However, many of the same items can be found at Walmart and Target for much lower prices. However, PetSmart provides price matching (with limitations) with competitors' prices, so check with the employees to see if this applies to your circumstance. This PetSmart store has lots of live animals for sale. Not only lots of fish can be found here; I saw hamsters, mice, snakes, lizards and birds just waiting for someone to take them home. PetSmart has things to keep your pets healthy, clean, fed, clothed, groomed, housed ... and I think that about covers it all. I'm amazed at how many different items PetSmart actually stocks in this store. There are so many types of dog food available here, and at different price points. The most recent time I was here, a few weeks ago, I was looking for a specific type of shampoo for my dog, but I looked at the price and knew I could get the same thing for a less expensive price at Target just down the street. Bettas deserve clean, appropriate environments and proper care, yet they are often left in tiny containers with little to no enrichment or attention. This is not responsible animal care. PetSmart needs to do better. If a store is going to sell live animals, it has a responsibility to provide humane conditions and proper care while those animals are in its custody. I strongly encourage management to address these conditions immediately and for customers to report animal-welfare concerns rather than ignoring them.
