The worst dog groom my dog. have ever received. The cut appeared an unevenly with a sizable too closely shave area on my dog's neck as well as chewed destroying my dog''s appearance. Too, the shop was like a factory production line in which the cutter was unaware of what dog was even being groomed and appeared indifferent to the animals. Hard to believe he was a trained groomer. My dog came out so fluffy and cute. His stay at the "salon" was long, approx 5 hours, but during that time he was able to be in the open workspace socializing with people and other friendly dogs. Amazing experience every time I go. I had not found any other place in Santa Fe that knows how to groom Bichon Frise's the correct way until I found this place through word of mouth of another fellow Bichon owner. I also recommended them to my mom and she now takes her new 5 month old Shih Tzu to them and they always do an amazing job. Annabelle LOVES going to Barks & Bubbles. They do an outstanding job grooming her, and a Briard is NOT easy to groom. When we are in Santa Fe, I have her paws shaved to help keep the Foxtail from getting into her feet. They do a great job shaving them because Annabelle does not like her feet messed with. I took my 2 Westies in for wash, brush, nails, trimming etc. Westies, think the dog on the Caesar dog food commercial, get a particular type of cut that not all groomers know. I was assured that the owners had Westies and they knew how to do the cut. I paid over $200 for the 2 of them and I got very, very short puppy cuts! No skirts, no round head, clipped short everywhere. I could have done that myself! It took almost 6 months for their coats to grow out again. STAY AWAY! read more

Barks & Bubbles is a go-to place for our dog Jackson Brown. Jackson has a very thick and beautiful coat. They do such a great job on trimming and cleaning him. Every time he leaves this place he looks like a show dog. Not only does he get a full treatment but he gets play time with the other dogs there. I highly recommend this place to everyone and anyone. I have visited twice and the first haircut was good. However, the second visit they botched up my dogs haircut BAD! And now we h e to grow out for a LONG time. Also, they didn't trim her nails nor tend to the hair on her feet and paws. When I tried to have them rectify the situation they wanted to charge me more money and were very rude to me. I've been going to these folks for a couple of years, and the results were just ok. It's hard to find a good groomer in Santa Fe. But then something happened. Something very bad. My beautiful dog walked in as usual. I, as usual, explained the cut I wanted. There would be only one change from the usual cut, which is that I wished the hair on his tail to be clipped to a length of an inch or so, rather than the plume he had which had become unruly. When my husband picked my pup up a few hours later and brought him home, he was absolutely unrecognizable. They had sheared him all over, ruining his distinctive fluffy/moppy head, removing his little beard and goatee-----I actually wept. I took in a goofy, gorgeous Labradoodle for his normal grooming, and out came a poor creature that looked like one of those skinny Egyptian dogs with pointy noses you see in ancient paintings crossed with a withered old man. And this cost me $100 plus tip. Yes---my husband tipped these people because he just assumed I'd requested my dog get a Brazilian, I guess. But that's another story. read more

My dog loves this place! She comes out looking good, feeling good and gets more love than usual because she smells good too. The atmosphere is chill, even with 7 or eight dogs milling about. It's pure theater with all sorts of dogs up on the tables and on the floor waiting their turns to go home or get worked on. The staff are capable and are expert with dogs. We were in town for just two nights and really wanted to go around the down town area. Although Santa Fe is dog friendly -- you can't really take dogs into the stores or restaurants with you. So we needed doggie day care for just the one day. Barks and Bubbles was clean, friendly and had reasonable prices. My dog was happy when we came in to pick him up -- and then exhausted when we got him back to the hotel! If we are ever back this way -- I will absolutely be using Barks and Bubbles!!! read more

Sherry cut off a slice of our much loved Yorkie's ear two weeks ago; and stated "i rushed him to the vet across the street but he did not even yelp or bleed'. No, the vet stated she had to use silver nitrate to stop the bleeding. She lied to us.Sherry stated 'i use the scissors on my yorkie's ears' and I assured her our Milo is just as precious as her dog. She was inappropriate and aggressive via phone. We DO NOT recommend Barks & Bubbles. read more

Good groomers, decent prices and the staff is helpful and accommodating. My pooch was stayed with them a few times and she never appears to be overly traumatized by being boarded there. Although we boarded our last dog at many places in Santa Fe, this is the only place we have boarded our current terrier of two years (she is about 5 years old). When we picked her up after having left her for a long weekend, she looked beautiful after being groomed. I am sorry to post this. I agree with Rennie C. Results are so so. Phone manners are poor. Face to face manners even worse. And incredibly, ridiculously expensive. Fortunately, I have a found excellent groomers in town who are reasonable on every level. read more

This groomer did a good job with our two german shepherds. Their coats were very clean and conditioned, and nails were trimmed to the appropriate length (not down to the quick). Their ears were cleaned and breath was fresh. For the price, it is worth it. read more

Our Bichon had a horrible experience at Pet Smart and were were very apprehensive taking him anywhere. When were arrived at Barks and Bubbles and Henri was very anxious and panting. The owner, Sherri was so patient with him and took time for him to calm down. She ever went so far as to call us to let us know Henri was doing fine. When we picked him up he looked and smelled so good! They did a wonderful job and it was so apparent they not only knew what they were doing, they took their time. I love this place. The staff is very friendly and helpful with my two very large hounds. I get them groomed here monthly, and they attend the daycare a couple of days a week.
