I tried to get my dog Geoffrey into this Doggie Day Care facility. It was an unbelievable experience. The first day I called, they asked what breed he was and how old was he. I told them he's a German Shepherd and I didn't know exactly how old he was as he was a rescue. She said they'd call me back. They didn't. So I called again the next day and the girl on the other end started asking the same questions. I told her I'd already been through that. She told me I'd have to get a letter of reference from whatever shelter or rescue he came from. This seemed odd as I never had to do this with my other dog, also a rescued German Shepherd, at this place or at Wags and Wiggles in Tustin, CA or at Camp Bow Wow in New Orleans. I've never heard of this being a requirement ANYWHERE. So I called the director of German Shepherd Rescue of Orange County, and she shot off an email outlining his background and attesting to his sterling character that same day and which I forwarded to them immediately. So the next day I waited. And waited. At 1PM I called them. I told the girl they had received the required reference email. She told me that the manager hadn't read her email yet. Say what??? How would the girl behind the counter know whether or not the manager in her office had read her email? And it was 1PM and they open at 7AM. So again I was blown off. I suspected that this was a case of discrimination. So I called a friend and asked her to call and say she wanted to put her dog in their day care. I told her to tell them what I had told them except say her dog was a Golden Retriever. She did and the girl told her they'd be happy to set up an appointment right then and there. Infuriated, I called again and said I wanted to speak with the manager. The girl said: "Oh...this is Claire... " I said yes this is Claire and I want to speak to the manager!!! She put me on hold for about 5 minutes. Then the manager came on and said that she had received the email from GSROC and told me we could come in for our "evaluation" at noon the following Thursday. I'm thinking they believed requiring a letter of reference from a shelter or rescue would stop me dead in my tracks. Most public shelters are too big and busy to do this. Probably many rescues as well. They didn't bank on GSROC being as classy and professional as they are or that I volunteered with them for years. So now after all of this hassle and marching into a brick wall, I canceled our "evaluation" appointment. They only gave it to me because they knew I wasn't going to let it rest, and it's likely they'd reject my dog regardless over whatever preconceived prejudicial issues they obviously have. Shortly after, I took Geoffrey to Paws Plaza. No appointment was necessary. He was welcome anytime. They do an "integration" with new dogs which I'm sure is much like Santa Fe Tail's "evaluation" but it just sounds more accurate and less pompous. The people were very nice, he passed with flying colors and had a great time. I was very impressed with this place! Dealing with Santa Fe Tails had been such a negative experience. I would never do business or entrust my dogs to them again. And as far as Joey P.'s worn out rebuttal to their many negative reviews: "SF Tails does not feel Yelp is the most productive platform for communication and encourage all of our clients, current or potential, to interact with us directly so we can continue to cultivate a positive experience." I DID interact directly which is precisely WHY it was such a bad experience! read more

I highly recommend this dog care facility. We have been taking our dogs here for years. They have always been very happy when we drop them off! When we had to have one of our pups euthanized, the lovely people at Santa Fe Tails hand delivered a sympathy card and a bouquet of flowers. Santa Fe is a very mellow, new-agey kind of place. We skip gluten for spiritual reasons not health factors. So, I thought I found the perfect place to board my dog for the holiday when I saw the website for Santa Fe tails. It is more expensive then other kennels but I figured it must be worth it. They claim to be a doggy resort but when I arrived, it looked just like every other kennel we have been to. I signed up for the prerequisite evaluation for my dog so that he could stay at their daycare or be boarded or bathed there. After an extremely brief evaluation where he greeted two other dogs ready to play and tail wagging, I was informed that my dog didn't meet the socialization standards and would require classes before being permitted to stay there. At first I was very understanding as my dog is somewhat inexperienced playing with others outside of the comfort of his spacious yard and arroyo walks. Then the owner looked at me judging because I told her I didn't take my dog to the dog park. I should have known there was going to be a problem when she explained that dogs had to be evaluated before getting a bath because her staff kept getting bit by dogs. How did these biting dogs pass the evaluation? To make things worse, after my dog was rejected by the owner, another customer's dog leaving the daycare facility bit my husband on the hand while it was in his pocket. We were so surprised that this dog acted aggressively coming from this supposed reputable doggy resort. I am so upset and disappointed by this establishment. I love to support local businesses but this place is a sham. I bet that every dog who goes there needs " socialization" classes. Because that's how they make money. I am saddened by people who run their local businesses this way. It reflects poorly on the whole city. There truly are good and caring boarding places in this town even if your dog hasn't passed the masters obedience class. Dog lovers of every breed and obedience level should BEWARE! of this place. It is overpriced and horribly managed. The last straw that forced me to write this bad review....later when we called back to get the remaining bad taste out by fully complaining.....the owner knew exactly who we were and had the correct vague legal answers for our incident. preface: i really can't believe no one has reviewed this establishment. i feel it is my (canine) good citizen duty to give a shout out as i would have really appreciated it when i was looking for a good doggy daycare. ***** As a recent transplant, I couldn't find any substantial reviews or recommendations on dog training or daycare services in the area & had to go about finding the 'right' place the old-fashioned way. Luckily around the corner from my house, & where I began my search, was just the 'right' place. My introduction to Santa Fe Tails was a beginner obedience class. The instructor, Debra Moody, was a regular dog whisperer while the rest of us, well, we did our best to copy her lessons. Nevertheless, we all came out better dogs & humans in the end & we had a great time doing it. I've already signed up for another class & not only look forward to the results, I'm looking forward the entertainment! The current classes are listed on the website & their prices are very reasonable. You won't be disappointed! As a result of the great instruction & super-friendly staff, I have started taking my bulldog to half days at Santa Fe Tails. Like most daycares, they require an evaluation before admittance to ensure a fun experience for all. I also like how many people they have on staff & how carefully they watch the 'kids' & how quickly they respond with a time-out when things get disruptive. AND they have daycare webcams so you can spy on the action!! I got to see my guy get checked for a time-out today for bullying a boston terrier. Too funny! And then there is the great feeling you get from knowing your bubba got to play (nicely) all day (or half day) with his own kind & will come back to you satisfied & tired...oh so tired. The prices are comparable to other daycare services. I've yet to find a great deal on this kind of service but it is SO worth it. Discounts are made on package deals. So go check out SFe Tails. If all those doggy faces coming to the big storefront windows to scope out who's coming in the door doesn't bring a smile to your face, then maybe you aren't in the 'right' place. read more

This place is seriously awesome. Sure, their rates are a bit high (especially for boarding!! i'd LOVE to be able to board our dogs there a weekend here and there, but can't afford it). However, their daycare is fab. The staff know us and our dogs and will tell us how they did every time they come for a visit. One of our dogs has had struggles with behavioral/social issues since the first day he joined our family (at 7 weeks old). SFT was willing to work with our dog and put up with his behavior while he took his time growing up... he has improved so much over the past three years! I don't know what we would have done without Joey and SFT. We travel quite often and have used daycares in other locations out of state, and our dog almost always ends up getting put in a kennel or isolated away from the main crowd of dogs. Now, I'm not blaming those places as they don't know him, but every time this happens, we are increasingly grateful for SFT and all they do. How many dog daycares are run by certified trainers who love and understand all manners of dogs? Not many, I'm telling you. Shout out to Joey and his team... we love your place! :) read more

I don't know about the owners, but the staff doesn't seem to know doggy poop about dogs or customer care. The first time we went in it was for a facilities tour. The young woman didn't seem to know where she was taking us, but more importantly, she should have waited on the people who were there to pick up their dogs first instead of my husband and I who were there unannounced. After the tour, she still left people waiting while we tried to book an appointment for an evaluation with the owners. We got to hear an entire run down on their planned vacation itinerary -- next month. When we got down to this week, she booked the "audition" for Tuesday. Fifteen minutes later our phone was ringing saying that the owners didn't evaluate dogs on Tuesday, would we come on Wednesday instead? Sure--what else do we have to do? On Wednesday, another woman chastised us for missing our appointment on Tuesday, but said we could leave our dogs for their free evaluation. Two hours later, we went to pick them up having had no phone call as to when they would be ready and after calling and getting the typical "I'm sorry we cannot come to the phone right now," message on the phone. The dogs took forever to be brought up to the desk. Maybe because they had to calculate exactly how much to charge us for the "free evaluation." As it turned out, the evaluation was free but the time spent doing it was not. We were charged for two 1/2 days of day care for our dogs. When I asked why, I was told "Because they were here!" My mouth must have dropped open because she said that we could leave them longer if we liked. That's not all. Our dogs are sighthounds. Sighthounds require Martingale collars for their own safety. They came in with typical Martingale collars. The person could not manage to clip them correctly so she just fastened their leashes to a D-ring on each of their collars and released them. Now imagine a greyhound, whippet, saluki or afghan slipping its collar and going 30 -- 35 mph down St. Michaels. They aren't dumb dogs, they're simply built for speed. Don't go here. I couldn't love and appreciate Santa Fe Tails more - and I highly recommend their business for dogs with, hmm shall we say, bad manners or inadequate social skills. One of my two dogs, Edwin, struggled to pass the initial evaluation - and as later behavior showed at the dog parks, he's just a real emotional pup that gets really excited and hyper around some other dogs, which turns into over-arousal sometimes, which leads to altercations with other dogs. Bad social skills. It's the kind of thing that most other doggie daycares would simply kick a dog out for and move on - which is fair. But Joey has worked patiently and expertly with Edwin over several social program sessions and closely monitored daycare trials, in a fantastic way that makes me feel confident he's keeping both Edwin and all the other daycare dogs very safe. And I've seen how he meticulously communicates notes on his behavior so that all Tails staff now know how to manage Edwin's behavior and keep everyone happy and safe. I'm so grateful that they've worked with him and, now that he's graduated to regular daycare attendance, he has a safe and controlled place to play his little heart out and practice positive behaviors. Yay, Santa Fe Tails! Other general things to share: I love that all the staff quickly recognize my dog(s) the second I walk in the door - it feels good knowing they know us. It's clean - the pups don't come back smelling like an outhouse. And though the webcam feed can be wonky, even just frozen frames where I can see my babies sunning themselves outside or wrestling with a playmate is such a cool feature! read more

We were visiting Santa Fe and wanted to take our pup for a doggy daycare day while we went to Albuquerque for the day. The staff at Santa Fe tails were great. We went in for our interview on Thursday and despite being swamped with drop offs and pickups they processed our information and our pup got to go out in the car to zoom around and play a bit. We took him back the next day for a full day of play and he came home appropriately exhausted They have a great outdoor play area as well as indoor and our pup who has only been to daycare indoors had a ball, kind of like dog park all day running and zooming! Next time we make it back this way we will be sure to make another visit! read more

I need a place for occasional boarding but mainly occasional doggie daycare so that I can make day trips to Taos, Albuquerque, take longer hikes, and so forth. I was eager to check Tails out as it was recommended by multiple sources. The front reception area is a bit stark but it is clean and I doubt the dogs care that it is not fancy; I think the money was well spent elsewhere. I showed up unannounced and requested a tour, which was promptly given. There are multiple indoor areas for the dogs to play, and multiple outdoor areas, including a new giant covered play area to the right of the building as you approach. The kennels are adequate in size for my two small dogs to stay together if boarded. There are video cameras. There is no overnight human presence (I wish there was someone there, a potential drawback) for boarded dogs. There is a medication room where meds are kept for dogs who need medication. I was apprehensive about the temperment eval as one of my westies is intimidated at times by big dogs, but both passed with no issue. They stayed for a half day of day care and apparently had a blast. The checkout staff said they did great. This is not a place a dog can dig out of or escape from, and that is a big deal for me, something I have a huge fear of. There were a whole lot of happy dogs in there! And, my dogs came home clean. A huge plus. We will be back. I'll review again after I have occasion to board my dogs. read more

My dogs and I LOVE this place!!! We have one older, shyer dog an one young, hyper lab. Both get what they need since Tails separates by energy level. This morning Georgia went outside to enjoy the sun & quiet while Tuco stayed with all the dogs chasing tennis balls. He was having a blast! There are big, open windows and cameras so you can see all that is happening. They have recently expanded their outdoor area to include paved or matted areas - lots of space for dogs to go out but not get dirty for those who have well groomed dogs. Again, the owners try to provide something for all dogs / owners desires. We board here, too, so daycare all day then a nice place to sleep when the day is done. I don't worry a bit - ok maybe a little but that's what parents do! read more

Two years ago, I rescued a six-year-old terrier mix. The prior owner needed to get rid of the dog because it "nipped" the baby. Several bites later and because I needed to take the dog to day care on occasion, I went to Santa Fe Tails, thinking that I could just drop him off. I learned that he needed to be socialized before they would accept him. Because his behavior in my house was not acceptable, I agreed to many socialization sessions, and he was finally accepted as a day-care client. It is now two years later, and I could not be happier with Santa Fe Tails. Hannah and Joey are real professionals, and the people they hire as dog watchers and contract with to teach classes are too. One of the best things about Santa Fe Tails is their boarding service, which, while expensive, includes full-day day care so that when my dog stays there, he's having fun playing all day and then sleeping soundly at night. Plus, he loves going there, so I don't feel badly that I am putting him in a kennel. The dog is still not the best behaved, but after the time at Santa Fe Tails (he goes once a week and stays there a couple or three weeks per year) and one six-week class with Debra Moody, he no longer bites, he comes when called (except when he's chasing squirrels), and he has a repertoire of tricks. read more

My daughter rescued a Blue Heeler over a year ago. Being the breed she is she needs a lot to do. Go here to learn how to communicate with your dog, learn how the dogs mind works, and how to get desired behavior for your dog. We came to SFT hoping for help with our high energy dog that had problems focusing and was socially deprived. After a 6 week level one course and several daycare days and one "intervention" session we have a transformed dog. Sits, stays, leaves it, does not jump up on people, is under voice control and plays well with other dogs. AMAZING! We were just in town for the day and wanted to sightsee, so we dropped off our dog here for the day. When we first arrived, we noticed it was very clean, and we were greeted right away. They took him for an evaluation, and while he was with the staff in the play area, the front desk staffer turned on the video monitor for us in the lobby so we could watch him, which was much appreciated. This is a great place run by people who really understand dogs and clearly love them. We were in town for a long wkend and needed a place during one day and one overnight. WOW! Yes, of course, dogs need to be evaluated before being accepted to a new place. Places are evaluated at the same time. If ratings were tail wags instead of stars, this wld be a 5 tail wag review. Highest rating! We looked in on the dogs there and have never seen so many happy hounds in one place at a time. Tails high, happy hounds to a one. Don't know how they do it, but they clearly do. If we lived in town, we'd take advantage of some of the classes, and definitely it wld be out daycare and boarding of choice. Being from out of town, we know Santa Fe Tails will be a part of all future trips to Santa Fe for days or nights that are too long for our lady lab to be on her own. What a wonderful place!!!! The staff really makes this place special. Everyone I have encountered in the last year and a half has been extremely wonderful and accommodating. I work in the hospitality industry and creating an environment such as this can be very difficult. Our pup, Ridley loves this place. When we turn onto St Michaels he knows exactly where he is going and starts barking the same as he does when approaching the dog park. He drags me through the door, not wanting to delay his fun time. Hello all! Santa Fe Tails is a wonderful business that caters to all your pets needs while they get to enjoy themselves in daycare. They offer many enriching activities during the day such as ball time and pool time. Each and every time my dogs go there they come home exhausted but so very happy. Santa Fe Tails is always busy but even with the amount of dogs there you can see that they are well taken care of and observed closely. The owners are more than willing to work with dogs from difficult situations. They offer a social program which is organized to help dogs who need more time for numerous reasons to adapt to a daycare setting. One of my dogs went through this program and in no time was passed into daycare full time. I definitely recommend this place to all dog owners. Hannah and Joey know dogs better than anyone else I have encountered. I have never had an issue while my dogs have been there for daycare or boarding. The boarding set up is not like any other I have seen. Its like a booking a vacation for your pet!!! You can be as specific as you want about meals and they will even give medications if necessary. The upfront staff is very knowledgeable about who you are and which dog/dogs belong to you. It is comforting to hear them call for your dog by name when you walk through the door. It shows a deep level of commitment to you and your dog. To top it off they often give you a brief overview of what your dog did that day. They played with so and so or really love the pool. It is these personal touches that distinguishes Santa Fe Tails from other daycare and boarding facilities in the area. It is definitely organized chaos but I have never been worried to leave my dogs there. They go about four times a week for that past year and never has anything happened to them. I realize dogs are predators and every now and then some dogs will not like each other, just like people but I'm more than confident in the staff to take care of my babies. I hope this review was helpful. Santa Fe Tails is truly a remarkable place and I highly recommend it to any dog owners. And beyond that my dogs would recommend it!!! I am thrilled with the care that is provided by the owner's and fantastic staff of Santa Fe Tails. I have been taking my three dogs to the day care for over a year and have also completed two training sessions with my Rottweiler puppy. All three of my dogs were timid and insecure initially and suffered from separation anxiety when ever I left them (including when I left them at home). The difference I have seen in them is remarkable, especially since they now enjoy socializing with other dogs as well as engage with "strangers" in a non-threatening manner. This is especially important given that my Rottweiler is becoming awe-inspiring in size as he reaches adulthood. Back to the staff. I believe they are the epitome of dog-lovers and truly care about the safety and happiness of those in their charge. To overcome boredom structured activities are implemented as well as cots for those who simply need a rest. The staff is aware of the names and activities of dogs and actually take time to share humorous dog stories at the end of the day. I have been caring for a dog for a friend. Each day I take the dog to Santa Fe Tails for 5 hours (1) so that he won't be outside in the cold weather and (2) to exercise and play with other similar dogs. I found that the dogs were not separated by age or size. It was loud and crowded, with one dog hovering in the corner, shaking and alone. I am concerned that no one asked for a number where I may be reached in case of an emergency. The staff is very friendly, but today, when I arrived with my friend's dog. a man who was talking with another client and seemed to think he was VERY important, began shouting at me--something about a leash, but I couldn't understand him and still don't know what he was talking about. My dog was on a leash and behaving well. The man never explained or apologized. How must he treat the employees if he is so abusive to a paying customer? How must he treat the animals? When I left, I contacted four or five dog owners for whom I regularly pet sit. Three had visited Santa Fe Tails, but none had chosen that facility for their beloved dogs. They did recommend three other places where their dogs were happy and safe and the management behaved professionally. I am heartbroken that the man who shouted at me works with either people or animals. I hope that the pet owners there can find a place more supportive of their animal family members--physically, emotionally, and mentally. I hope the kind staff people soon find employment where they are both well treated and appreciated. I am sorry to say that I would NEVER choose Santa Fe Tails. read more

Tails is professional; friendly; helpful and trustworthy. It's so easy to drop off and pick up. They provide day care (half day and full day) as well as boarding. They have webcams you can access over the internet to check on your pet during its stay (only in common areas). They also provide baths. We've used all their services and our pet loves going to the "barky park" (a sure sign that he's being treated well and having fun). The staff is young -- but friendly and knowledgable. They keep an eye on things -- only allow other dogs who pass a sociability test and have contacted me immediately if something seems odd about my dog's behavior (he seemed low energy or bit down on a stick and seemed to be having some pain). We love it. Our only concern is that it is a little on the expensive side. But, you can buy 10 packs of services and save some that way. We just wish he could go play with his friends everyday. read more

I usually don't give reviews but I am so disappointed in this place. I have taken my dog to many doggie day cares in the U.S. This one is by far the worst place I have been. I can't say how the place is or how my dog was because I didn't see anywhere past the lobby. When I went to pick her up they never said anything about how she was. I took my dog here for what they call as an evaluation to see how your dog gets along with other dogs. Very normal I have done it at every place I have taken my dog. You have to make an appointment for it. So I took my dog in and asked if they keep her for a couple hours or how it works. They said no, this should only take about 10 mins. Every other place I have ever taken my dog usually want to keep them for a couple hours. Usually, the first time during the evaluation is free. Since I drove an hour and 10 mins for this I told them I would just keep her there for a half day since I had running to do. I went to pick her up and they brought her out and gave her to me. The girl says you owe for the half day plus the EVALUATION! I said you charge for that...she said yes were you not told, I said no. So another girl says oh they didn't tell you when you got here!!! First, that should be told over the phone before I come there!! Second, NOONE said a word. So..... for 3 hours and the evaluation it was almost $35. They have fees for everything! If you want you dog to spend the night it is $65 and up!! For what??? I didn't even cost half that at any place I have taken my dog...ever. Not even in California. Truly a disappointment and a rip off! Plus, they have you sign a wavier that pretty much seems like they are not responsible for your pet if anything happens to them while there. In December 2017 I took my dog to Santa Fe Tails for a few days. When I picked him up he seemed ok, but later in the day started to exhibit loose stool. The next day he was vomiting, had extreme diarrhea, and wouldn't eat. I called Santa Fe Tails to find whether they knew anything about the problem. They said that there was another dog who had a virus and exhibited the same symptoms, and that they took the dog to their vet. I talked with the owner to ask if he could share in my vet bill ($300.), and he refused, and I accepted that was his stance. The following is the real issue: I then asked him, as caretaker, what preventive measures do they take when they observe a dog that is displaying symptoms of illness, like isolating the dog so not to spread the virus. The owner laughed at me, and said they don't do that, and he continued to be extremely combative and condescending to me - really bad PR. read more

I called a week in advance to make arrangements for dog day care for our ski trip. Was told to come in when we arrived in Santa Fe on Sunday, bring shot records, dog would be evaluated upon arrival. Well, this morning the person at the front desk said they would not do "temperament evaluation" today & I could make appointment for later in the week, but they would not take a very well behaved 8 pound Yorkie! This is after I bought ski lift tickets, extra hotel night, etc. after my call last week. Not like it was a pitbull. Dog travels with me all the time, goes to day area everywhere. Absolutely wonderful place!!!! I take my dog here when she needs to get out some energy or if I have a long work day. The staff is extremely professional, attentive and clearly cares about my dog. The facility is spotless (which is hard to do when you have a bunch of dogs running around!) While I trust them completely, it is great to be able to "check in" and see what my dog is doing via their webcams. I have also done a group training lesson (recall) and a private training (leash pulling) and both were extremely beneficial!!!! We also took an agility class (basically a doggie obstacle course) which was a great way to keep my dog's curious mind busy. The owners are very knowledgeable and their staff is great! We are new to Santa Fe and just found Santa Fe Tails. Our dogs have never been boarded before since we had a large backyard, dog door and great neighbors to care for our dogs when we weren't at home. We were all nervous but Santa Fe Tails has earned our trust for sure! We have two small dogs, one an old lady and one a young pup. Each time I checked in on the web cam (which was A LOT), both dogs were with other dogs and people, playing and getting love. Seriously, nearly every time I looked there was someone petting them. They took care to make sure my dogs got their own special diet, gave my older dog her medicines and just generally loved them like I would. I know the prices are higher than a Petsmart type kennel, but you absolutely get what you pay for here.....and more! We will use no other boarding service than Santa Fe Tails! read more

I just have to post another review because I love Santa Fe Tails so much. Almost 3 years later it is still such a special place for Tyler and Spencer. They don't go everyday or even very often anymore since I moved out of the hotel and rented a place with a big yard and now bought a house of our own. Sometimes I just look at them when I'm leaving for work and know they need a special day. Every single time I take them there the staff at the desk remembers them by name, and when I pick them up after work let's me know they were happy to have them or says something kind about my pups. This is a great place for boarding. We had a bad experience at an in-home dog boarding facility, and are happy to have our dogs here when we're out of town. It's expensive, but definitely worth it (especially for two dogs). We feel like our dogs are safe and enjoy the playtime during the day and downtime at night. read more

I'm a fan of SF Tails, have taken my dogs there many times for day care and/or boarding, with no problems and happy dogs at the end of the day. BUT - and this is not an insignificant issue - I'm getting exasperated with the folks who bring their dogs in and out with no leash on. I was told from day one that the rule is always leash your dog coming in, and my dogs are leashed before being released to me. But other people flagrantly disregard this rule ... including the owners with their own dogs!! OK - some dogs are so well-behaved that they can walk in and out with no issues - mine are, but I still follow the rule. Why? For the same reason I drive defensively: the other person's dog who may not be so calm and controlled. Three times now I have driven (carefully and slowly) into the parking lot, where I have then had to avoid some dog running around loose, or opened the door to walk in with my dog, to be greeted by a loose dog wanting to bolt out. This is just plain dangerous, for all the dogs and people involved/nearby, and for the business: wouldn't you hate to see SF Tails be put out of business by a whopper of a law suit? I know I would! I see Joey responds to negative posts by suggesting the person talk directly with staff - well: a) as noted the owners do this routinely themselves, so until they stop they can't expect others to, and b) when I did talk to the front desk person one day she shrugged and said 'we can't refuse to give people their dogs just because they don't have a leash.' Um, yes, you can - it's your business and you get to run it how you want to. There must be a solution to this problem that will keep SF Tails the happy safe place we -- and our doggie friends -- all enjoy. I hope it comes before someone, 2 legged or 4 legged, gets hurt. read more

Took my dog there for an evaluation and Hannah could not have been nicer! She was very patient with my nervous little girl and was very kind. The place was VERY busy! Tons of people coming and going and dogs literally straining at their leashes to get in the building! Everyone looked so happy and the dogs obviously enjoy being dropped off for their day care. My wife and I have been taking our dogs to SF Tails for several years now for day care and boarding and have enjoyed watching the growth and success of this venture. Joey and Hanna are very professional and really understand dogs. The staff members are friendly and responsive and genuinely seem to like dogs. It is a real gift to be able to leave the dogs and know they are safe and enjoying themselves. They are always ready to jump in the car and drive to "Tails". I especially appreciate the fact that some dogs who are deemed unsafe are not allowed to be left at the facility. I would highly recommend Tails to any dog owner. read more

My Newfoundland puppy and I took our initial training class here with Joey. It was fun and we learned a great deal. Joey was very responsive to personal problem issues with our puppies and offered excellent solutions. We also learned all the basic training commands using both voice and hand signals. By the end of our class, all the puppies were competent in obeying and performing the learned commands. A great success and I plan to take more classes with Joey in the future. read more

We adopted a young dog some months ago and he had a few issues that concerned us. One, he was wary of my husband and two, there was some concern he might be dog aggressive. Had a consultation with Joey and...problems solved. Husband and dog are friends now, aggression concerns have been put to rest. We have used Happy Tails Day Care and will continue our dog's education in Happy Tails classes. We are totally delighted to have had Happy Tails recommended to us by another Taos resident! read more

Santa Fe tails is a terrible place to board your dog. I did not see them play with my dog once the entire time he was boarding there. They charge triple the price than any other dog place because they believe they are better than anyone else. But it's not true. The services they offer are inferior. The owner is an incredibly rude and deceptive person. This company is only for profit, and not for the love of dogs. If you're looking for a place you can trust, don't send your dog here. read more

Santa Fe Tails is the BEST place to take your dogs!!! Unlike what one reviewer said you can see everywhere. The lobby is filled with windows to see their interior play rooms plus they have a TV monitor showing all the camera angles in their outdoor areas. You can even go online for camera access plus they have cameras in their overnight suites. I take my older dog there all the time for daycare and it's amazing the positive change I've seen in her over the months!!! She is much more tolerant of other dogs and new places now. We also have a 1 year old dog who has been going all thru his puppyhood and you can tell he LOVES it!!! They have pools outside, throw balls, have bubble time, etc and they post pics all over facebook! Our puppy has gone thru puppy class, level 1 & 2 obedience class and about to start level 3 - the final level. The staff and trainers are amazing, always helpful and available to you and ready to answer any question you have. We always get updates about our dogs and their progress or behavior. I cant say enough great things about this place and I'm sorry to hear that someone could have had such a bad experience. Perhaps it was just a bad day in general for that reviewer because nothing about what they said was true. I highly recommend SFT and have friends who bring their dogs also and would agree with me! read more
