I just got back from my first appointment with Ali at The Pooch Parlor. When I arrived my owners…read moretalked with Ali while she let me freely roam around the shop. I enjoyed seeing the dog decor and how clean the place was. I kept sniffing around for something that may have fallen on the floor but no such luck; the shop is that clean. I could tell Ali was very interested in what my owners wanted because she kept running her hands over my coat to indicate what she would do. When my owners returned to pick me up I could tell my owners were thrilled. They were smiling from ear to ear, hugging Ali and heaping compliments on me. I also saw Ali give my owners a card which probably means I will be back for another appointment. I am glad because Ali made me look fabulous. I cannot wait to tell all of my friends in the neighborhood to spread the word to their owners. The Pooch Parlor is THE grooming place to go. You will look and feel like a million bucks. Love, Theo

I've walked by TPP numerous of time and then I found her work on FB. I stalked all her cute curry clients and I loved the way their haircuts came out. My sister contacted Ali through FB and scheduled an appointment to come in. She had an opening the same week. There is a small parking lot next to the building. Ali was so welcoming upon entering. She was so friendly! I dropped Bubbles off and she said to come back in an hour. I came back in an hour and Bubbles was so cute. Normally Petco and Petsmart keeps Bubbles for hours! The price was very reasonable. Ali is a one woman team. I am beyond happy with Bubbles haircut and I love supporting local businesses! I'll definitely be back!

I just got a rescue a few months ago and she needed to be groomed badly. I needed a place where I…read morecould get in rather quickly. A friend recommended this place. My dog is skittish so I wasn't sure how her first ever grooming would go. Let's just say I am beyond happy! They far exceeded my expectations! I was able to get Phoebe in quickly. I waited less than 2 weeks to get her in. Her hair was very long and was becoming very matted from baths. I couldn't believe my eyes when I picked her up! It took 4 hours because of the work ahead. They have a system that just texts you when your dog is ready to be picked up. My dog looked absolutely gorgeous! The work that Jerrica did was top-notch. Phoebe looks like she's pageant ready! Haha! I highly recommend Dapper Dog. It was very affordable and they were clearly good with my dog because she didn't really want to leave when I picked her up! She loves it already which is so comforting. FYI they take cards there and you can tip on the credit card as well.

Kara is simply the BEST!…read more Before Kara came to my house I have not heard of at home pet grooming. This is a niche market that I am sure Kara will soon dominate in the Rochester area. Kara is an experienced professional who has been in the pet grooming industry for over 14 years and has recently decided to begin at home pet grooming. How it works - Kara comes to your home with all her supplies and sets up shop right in the comfort of your own kitchen. She has all the professional accessories and gear which is quite impressive. She uses your kitchen sink to bathe your pet and then sets them on her grooming stand to dry them quickly (with her number of professional dryers). She then proceeds to cut your pets hair to the length and style you desire. What is so awesome about her service is you can sit and watch her work so you know your pet is safe. But what is even better is she talks with you the entire time and explains to you what she is doing and why. She is very informative and teaches you many things from information about your pets breed, flea application and overall pet/care information. She is very kind to the pet and they feel very comfortable having her handle them.

Kara is the BEST! I have a very large cat, whom is…read morerelatively difficult to get any sort of cleaning done to (a Norwegian forest cat named Figaro). Every single time, he is given a bath, nails trimmed and given a hair cut PERFECTLY! Kara comes to do at home visits, which makes my life a million times easier, as I don't have to drag my cat down three flights of stairs and into a car, across the city. She simply grooms the cat in the kitchen sink, or whatever large basin/sink you have available. Figaro would rather see Kara 10 times than see the vet once, she is that gentle and loving with him. Kara listens to what each pet wants and makes sure they are comfortable at all times. Somestimes if Fig is a little grumpy, we do not get his belly or tail trimmed, which I appreciate not forcing him to do anything he does not want to partake in. She is a wonderful and amazing person, and I always look forward to our chats while Fig is getting groomed. She has a ton of professional equipment, and uses whatever works best for your pet (ex: The louder blower dryer actually worked better than the quieter one for my cat, but I am sure with others it would be the opposite situation). She is knowledgeable about animals/breeds/etc, and is more than willing to share any information and suggestions. Every once in a while she gives Fig a cute little collar as well. :) Afterwards, Figaro is always so happy and smells AMAZING!

Circle of Friends does an AMAZING job at grooming - my 6-yo goldendoodle has gotten the best trims…read moreshe's ever had here (and I've taken her a LOT of different places). In particular they do an incredible job at leaving a decent amount of length after trimming a really matted coat - most other places (here's looking at you, Petco!!) will just shave a dog down to the skin rather than expend a little extra effort. Clips and baths are done quickly (about 2 hours, which is great for a long-haired dog), and the dogs are always happy when I pick them up. The groomers/owners obviously really love dogs. Prices are on par with other places I've lived (mid-50s for a cut/bath/nail trim on a large, matted dog). Typically you need to make an appointment ( expect to wait about a week), although there is a walk-in nail trimming service for $7 that I take advantage of regularly.
