Oh wow, such a great presentation and awesome wines! Went home with a bottle of their blanc and was super happy with it as it is not too dry or sweet, it had just enough that made me want to come back for more. I definitely would love to come back and have more wine and love on their puppy Ripple that added so much love and positivity to the atmosphere.

I came for wine tasting and left knowing so much more about wine thanks to Tiberia. Ripple the dog was so cute and welcomed us upon entry. The scenery is so tranquil and eclectic. We did the tasting menu and loved all the wines. Each wine here is made special and they may not have it again so get it while you can. My favorite was the honey Meade wine that taste like honey suckle. I also loved the white port which was very original and reminded me of apple wine from Tennessee. Every wine here is made by Tiberia and his wife and not by a machine. You can taste the difference and the time put into these wines.

I need to start out by saying I don't consider myself even remotely knowledgeable on wine, but I will share both my opinion and the opinion of friends who are knowledgeable. But let's start out with Barking Rocks: The First Friday Venue. On the first Friday of each month Tiberia, the proprietor, has an open house of sorts. It's a casual affair where some people bring food for sharing (pot luck style), while others bring food for their own private picnic (this was us and I never really did check out the indoor scene, which I was told also includes some art). There is typically some sort of entertainment, usually live music, but in the past it has also been poetry reading. There are plenty of tables and chairs to use, though bringing your own chair always ensures that you have a place to sit. There's a large patio and plenty of grassy area. People tend to show up in groups, as it makes for a pleasant place to sit, talk, listen and of course, sip wine. To enjoy this all that is requested is that you buy your beverages from the winery. Wine is sold by the bottle (maybe by the glass too, but we bought bottles) and ranges in price from $15 a bottle for the desert wines to $25 a bottle for the Cabernet Sauvignon. Water is also available, though I'm not sure about other non-alcoholic drinks. House glasses are provided. On our night there (4/2/2010), we had three different wines; the Sangiovese, the Pinot Grigio and the Orange Muscat. The website has the details on these and the other varieties. My first impression of the Sangiovese and the Pinot Grigio is that they are both very light, body and color wise, wines. The Orange Muscat was not nearly as sweet as I was expecting and it went over well with several in our party. As I mentioned, I know very little about wine. In my book it either tastes good or it does not. I found all three of our Barking Rocks wines enjoyable, though as I mentioned, the red and white wines did not have as much body as I typically expect. Since I know this is not a very quantitative review, I will also share the opinions of two others in our party. Basically they said the wine is all right, not at the top, but not at the bottom either. Also, it's perhaps a bit expensive for what it is. So looking at it as just a bottle of wine, perhaps it is a bit expensive, but looking at it a nice night out, it really is quite perfect. If you are going to be in Granbury on the first Friday of any month, stop by the Barking Rocks between 7 and 11PM (though it might be a good idea to call, or check the website, just to make sure first Friday is going on). Also, there may be more going on than just first Friday, so do watch the website. PS. I'd like to read more Yelper's opinions of the Barking Rocks wines.

We had a lovely afternoon of talking and laughing with friends. We packed our cheese, crackers, grapes, and chocolates and went out for a great time. The atmosphere was perfect, the owner is friendly and easy going and we even made a couple of new friends Cellar the dog and Cork the cat. We definitely plan to go back.

Last bottle of Redman. *sniff*

Visited several years ago. Tiberia was friendly and welcoming even for a chilly day New Years 2012 just finished my last bottle of Redman and I couldn't be sadder. If you couldn't tell this review is two years up and coming. Words cannot express the enjoyment my partner and I have had while "imbibing" our Rousanne and Redman. Not only am I finishing my last Redman and she is finishing her last Rousanne. We will be back soon to restock. This wine is one of our favorites and since 2012 we have used for our special occasions. I am not necessarily a wine snob so I won't speak to tannins and all that fancy lingo but it pairs exceptionally well with a medium rare beef tenderloin steak, isn't acid-y, and just feels oh so good. Again, I'm not a wine snob but the Rousanne is just good. Can't explain it. I don't normally review buzzed because friends don't let friends post buzzed reviews but man, I really am sad this is my last bottle. Oh and if the missus asks I am not buzzed. Shhhhhh!!

Great merlot

Their Merlot was very good. Great family friendly atmosphere. While they do have seating, it is limited so you may want to bring some folding chairs if you want to sit outside and watch the band. The night we went there was an Irish folk style band which sounded so good one of our group bought their cd. A nice relaxing experience with good wine. A win win in my book

The owners of the place are great story tellers and hosts. They make you feel welcome and right at home. You can do a wine tasting for $5.00 which is very reasonably priced, and an excellent way to try all their wines.

Coming from large winery inGa; The Dock port and the Malbec was the best! The owners and his Team were awesome!!

Nice dry reds and friendly staff. They let their wines age, youngest they were tasting was a '15.

The wine was good, the service was great, I'd skip the cheese plate though…read more Visited Bull Lion on a weekday and we were the only ones in there which was nice. The server was attentive and we felt like we were at a friends house drinking wine.

I am not a wine aficionado by any means. I taste something and maybe I like it or not. I…read moredefinitely am a White Pinot Grigio drinker or Pinot Gris, Prosecco type of guy. On my first visit with Bro-In-Law, I sampled a rose, I believe it was their SANGIO ROSATO. I frankly cannot recall, it was a few weeks back now. Bro, immediately grabbed a glass of Poncho & Lefty. Unfortunately they did not carry a PG or Pro and perhaps they were out of their TREBBIANO DOLCE. It was fine. I did try a sip of the Poncho and it was red, for sure. Not my favorite, so I cannot comment on quality compared to a red wine enthusiast. The tasting room is located on the square in Granbury which is convenient since there are loads of little shops and curiosities abound to discover and visit. The tasting room itself is quaint, narrow and cute. Very friendly wine-arista's who reviewed the options with me. It was late afternoon on a Thursday and there was only one other couple in the place. Bro knows everyone in this side of the world, so nice conversations were had and a couple of wines later we departed to visit the square. I believe that the Poncho was $18 a glass, which felt steep however these are premium wines, so it probably is on point. I'm sure when I'm back up this way, which we are monthly, we will drop in, perhaps catch Chuck to say hi and enjoy ourselves to some more beverages.
