Would not recommend. Such rude groomers that pick and choose when to upcharge without improving their work, no extras or specials. Who ever the owner is, melissa/marissa apparently is racist and unwilling to consider language barriers over the phone and is extremely rude yelling to speak English, she yells at you over the phone or just hangs up on you. We have been clients for over 8 years and it's clear we SPEAK ENGLISH! Then gave us the wrong appointment time. The young front desk lady who takes my dog in is nice and always helps us but I feel like the others need help! Would not recommend it here or the vet clinic next door... go somewhere else if you want NICE PEOPLE read more

We have been taking our cat to this groomer for the last 5 years now and we had never experienced anything bad as their service has always been great. Well, we took him recently and when we brought our cat back home and we took him out of the carrier we discovered the cat was still soaking wet. He was not dried properly. His legs and tail were still soaked with water. I wouldn't be making a big deal out of this if it would've been a little humid and the price that I paid to have him groomed which was $95. That's a little excessive of a price for not finishing the job. Barking Lot you can do better. Sadly we will not be returning. read more

I've been taking my dogs to this groomer for the last 4 years and, though the dogs never look as good as they did at my last groomer out of state, the price was reasonable. However they have increased their prices about 40% over the last two years, though the quality didn't improve. Today when I went in the owner was less than nice, and my dog looked worse than when I cut her hair myself. I'm not that picky about how they look and I never complain. This used to be a good deal, but I most likely won't go back. read more

Although this place looks semi closed on the outside, this is prob the best groomer I've taken my dog too. Since I moved to this side of town I've been looking for a good place that didn't feel like a rip off and I think I found it! My pup Rex was anxious and scared for his appt, but he came out looking his best! In under 2 hours he was ready and smelling great! They even cleaned his butt, trimmed his nails, and gave him a cute little bandana. The employees made sure to get to know him in front of me so that he could trust them before heading back with them. This really showed how loving they are to all pets! I didn't even have to make an appointment which was nice and just did a walk in! It cost under $40 and was so easy! It's definitely a place worth checking out as they take really good care of your loved ones and are super nice. I'll definitely be bringing him back to this place for his pre Christmas glow up. read more

February 5th i been taking my puppy toy poodle mix for quite a while this time he got the full groom with nail cut and pick him up at 12:00 and at 4:00 p.m. I notice he was sensitive to the touch on his left paw it look like the nail was crack to the quick i took him to the vet the same day they said his nail was broken vet charges $344.00 next i spoke to the owner she was very unconcerned and non caring i told her I was going to give her a bad review "go ahead people do it all the time I don't care" I will not take him back there again and if you love your dog also I would stay away also read more

The staff was extremely pleasant and accommodating. Both of my dogs were happy when I picked them up and we're groomed better than they've ever been groomed before. I wouldn't take my dogs anywhere else again. The prices were very affordable. Their estimated pickup time was right on time. They're definitely the best! read more

Fast and friendly service. Used them for 10+years when I lived on the east side of Vegas. Still best prices in town. Very important when your pups hair cut is more expensive than yours read more

We have a Shih Tzu, Baxter, who will turn seven this winter. We had been going to the same groomer for two years since moving back to the valley. That groomer accidentally cut him. We don't know if that caused Baxter to become overly aggressive toward the groomer or not, but on his next visit, he bit at her. We bought a brush, scissors, and clippers. We tried trimming him ourselves, but he would bite at us. Thus, Baxter's fur grew very long. In talking to new groomers, we were upfront about Baxter's aggressiveness. We had difficulty finding anybody to groom him. Baxter's fur had become matted and covered his eyes. Somebody recommended Barking Lot. Marissa did an UNBELIEVABLE JOB! We could not believe how great he looked. He appeared half as big as when we brought him in! Marissa said he bit at her a few times while trimming his face, but she had "very fast hands". We are so grateful that Marissa would even work on Baxter, let alone do such a fantastic job on our little guy. The staff at Barking Lot was very nice with us, from the time we spoke on the phone to picking him up. Marissa said she has been grooming people's pets for 22 years. It really shows! Even though it is quite a drive for us, we have now found the perfect groomer for Baxter! Thank you Marissa! read more

Took my dogs here and I paid more than I ever have. One of my dogs they didn't even cut her hair; I'd rather burn my money than go back and give it to them. Fraudulent, overpriced place. Went there one time for a 7am appointment and they never showed up. Keep the money that's the last penny you will get from us. read more

Over 20 years I've been coming here. I don't trust anyone else with my dogs & their cuts. Thanks barking lot.

Took my poodle to get a trim and she had a lot of fur. I brush her out often so not many knots. I also had her paws colored from another place didn't want that cut off and they completely cut it all off. Specifically told them not to shave her down and they did. Let alone her fur is all uneven from her ears and also her mouth area. Worse cut so far. Guy with tattoos and piercings wouldn't recommend you go to him. Forgot his name read more

Excellent staff. Super Friendly. Had an appointment with a groomer down the street but the unexpectedly closed down. Yelped anything close by and found this place. They saw Killa right away and she was done within two hours. She has now found a new groomer. Paid $45 for the full grooming (hair, nails and booty) read more

I took my fur babies to The barking lot in March 2022. Baby, my Lhasa Apso came out of grooming fine. Daisy, my little Shih-Tzu is a different story. Diamond (the young lady at the front desk) offered to help me put the girls in the car. I thought it was really nice and didn't think anything else. Once home, because I have to put drops in Daisy eyes (she has dry eyes), I discovered she was badly cut under her right chest, on top of one of her eye and ear. She was also hurt under her left eyelid. I don't know what Daisy's groomer did to my poor baby that day but it hurts me to see how badly hurt she was. They no longer bath them. They just put some scent by the dog's ear so when you hold them and kiss them it smells good. Neither Diamond nor the groomer told me Daisy was badly cut. We will not be coming back to The Barking Lot. Never again! read more

I have been coming to this dog groomers for 2 years now, only for their nail trim services. Today I took my three puppies for their nail trimming and decided to get their teeth cleaned for only two puppies. I asked the receptionist who is not new by the way, what was the price? She replied and says $6 each, I confirmed the price again while I was paying for the services. I get two puppies back & I'm while I'm waiting to receive the third one, the receptionist mentions that she's charged me the wrong amount and that her manager just told her that teeth cleanings are actually $10 for walk in's. She said I owed $8 more and she needed to charge me it. I said but I confirmed with you twice, I would like to speak to the manager. The owner comes out from the back with a nasty passive aggressive attitude, claiming she was the owner and I owed her $8 more because the receptionist made a mistake & she was allowed to make mistakes. I replied, I am aware people make mistakes & explained everything back to her. She then says ma'am just pay the amount quit being cheap! I said excuse me, I am not being cheap I paid the amount I was told & that comment is extremely disrespectful. Especially when I am a loyal customer. She continues to explain how it's been a busy & a hard morning for her to just pay what's owed. While this conversation is happening they are holding my puppy in their hands not wanting to give him to me until I paid. This shop & owner is very unprofessional and the owner has no respect for her customers, I recommend that you do not trust this shop with your babies/pets. An owner like this one does not deserve my or your business. read more

I have so much to say about this place but long story short do not take your furry babies to this shit place. My Girl loves taking her little puppy to this place for a bath and a nice grooming. The women here do a great job. Her puppy comes out really cleans and all cute with a nice trim. I recently went here because they are close to home and had 4 stars. I regret taking my dog here. I paid $40 to make sure he was bathed and has his nails cut, anal glands cleaned and ears cleaned. We noticed he was scratching his ear much more after his groom visit. Here I am 3 days later in the vets office and they tell me he has an ear infection that is causing him pain. I paid for cleaning and they didn't let us know he had anything wrong with his ear? The vet told us they found gunk still in his ear which was causing irritation. Never coming back. read more

Denise is no longer here. Told the girl at the front what I'd like for the groomer to do, pretty basic trim, nail grind, shorten the hair on his ears, done. He was ready maybe 4 hours later. I arrived to the front girls boyfriend just lingering around but no one that actually worked there. She finally came out and I paid before seeing him which stupidly included the tip. I probably would not have tipped as much had I seen him first. His ears were not cut, the overall grooming wasn't very good, no bandana like he usually received, and they didn't put his harness on correctly. Really? Unfortunately, I will not be coming back. read more

Marissa takes such good care of my girls Mia, a Chihuahua, and Cleo, a Maltipoo. They always come out extra cute and get a bandanna or a bow put on. If I could give a zero, I would gladly do it. I don't know how this place can get a 4 stars. I have not been back since March 2022 but I believe the 4 stars are given by acquaintances or people who are being paid to write a good review. The girls did a wonderful job! Both dogs looks beautiful, and I've never seen Sally (the cranky old lady) look better! Ill be going back to have my shepherds groomed in two weeks. Beautiful male black lab mix that lived in & out of the pool year round as well as in & out of the house always wet & stinky so we decided to see how a shaved Bubba would work out, and we haven't stopped since. Besides Bubba, Marissa & exceptional crew have taken great care of our precious Coco, Brown lab ( shaved as well ! ) our narrcistic Nelly, mean mutt, Bridgette, nasty cat, Freddy aka Hannibal, & MANY cousin's always with satisfaction in a timely matter ! Took our baby here for a second time. First time was ok but not great. This time I experienced a classic bit and switch. Groomer came out and said if my dog was matted there would be an additional charge. I said I would just go somewhere else but she said it was ok just leave her. Three hours later I get a call and I'm told she would have to be cut much shorter than I wanted or there would be a "dematting" charge of $10.00. Lesson learned. Won't be going back here. Beware of deceptive business practices. Go somewhere else! read more

They cut my dog's ear badly and charged me full price before they showed me how bad it was. I was told it was a nip at first. After they took my credit card ran it, them they brought her out and told that she was taken to the vet and had to have it super glued. Her cut is a mess, on top of the gash on the top of my babies ear! I posted a photo of her ear to show that this is no "nip". read more

I have no idea why I am just now leaving a review after I have been coming here for a few years, but here we are! I can't even remember when I started coming here, I think it was probably 2015, and my Maltese Bentley has been being groomed by Marissa ever since. I can't recommend her enough; I can just tell she loves my boy so much, and she always, always gives him a hairbow in his ponytail and a seasonal bandana at my request. I think I finally wrote this review because we might have to move to Cali, and I am kind of freaking out because I just can't imagine taking my boy to another groomer, we have been coming here for so long! They have always been so good to us, even been forgiving when we have been late before (sorry!) I will be so sad to have to leave this place if we move, and I can't vouch for the other groomers, but I highly recommend Marissa read more

Decided to come to the Barking Lot after Petsmart wanted to charge us the same price for a face trim and nails as they would a haircut even though they said our puppy's hair wasn't long enough to cut. It only took two hours for them to groom our 5 month old labradoodle. He's so soft and fluffy now and he didn't seem scared at all to go in (he was clawing the ground at Petsmart with all the whining dogs in the back). Love it. We'll definitely be going back read more

Employees asked if we wanted a Dremel used on our dogs nails. As this is what we prefer we said yes, only to find out upon getting home our dogs nail bleeding and multiple other nails splintered at the ends. Either they were clipped and I was lied to (both upon dropping the dog off and over the phone) or the person using the dremel is a hazard to themselves and others. Unfortunate to have given a tip for such awful service. read more
