Never had any problems in the 8 years my dog's been boarding there, until last week. I picked up my dog like usual and they had nothing to report. When I got home I noticed his ear was injured and called immediately to ask about it. Was told at first they knew nothing about it but was put on hold to check with other staff. They came back on the line and told me that someone did notice the day before I picked him up but thought it was an ear infection. Failing to tell when it was noticed or when I collected him was concerning. Even more concerning is that ear infections are usually on the inside of the ear not the back side protruding inward. Looking further you could tell there were puncture wounds and what looked like bite wounds. I asked if he had been in a fight and they said they were unsure but would make a note to have the owner look at the camera footage and call me back. I have called back several times and every time the person acts surprised and "makes a note" for the owner to call me. It's now been a vet visit, 6 pills a day, several calls some with no answer (during normal business hours), and 6 days later with no response from the owner. I totally understand sometimes things can happen outside of your control, they're animals after all. I just wanted to know what happened and how. Some sort of dialog would have been nice. I have spoke this business up, my mother-in-law started boarding her dogs here cause of me. Needless to say, they lost my business which probably wouldn't have been the case if we had spoken when this happened. Which by the way I found out from another employee happened 4 days before I picked him up. They were aware of another dog having to be broken up and separated from mine for the rest their stay. read more

My dog seems to like this place. I love all the pictures they post of the dogs on Facebook and it's a HUGE plus that they have early Sunday morning drop off. I was nervous because although my dog has been boarded before he's never been to a group play daycare so I appreciated they make you bring your dog in for an assessment to make sure it's the right place for him and know that they're not allowing dogs in who are not a good fit. Sunny came home and went straight to sleep in my lap I know he was given lots of attention and got to play all day! read more

One of the absolute worst experiences I have ever had in customer service. I love my dog as if he were my child, so I chose Bark Lodge to 1. support local businesses and 2. To get him a good luxury cut. This was the second time I brought my dog to be groomed and the first time was a decent experience, he looked nice the people were friendly, etc... Today, however, my dog was picked up by my stepdad and brought home, when I got home and saw him I immediately noticed he had not been groomed. I dropped him off at 8 am, and we picked him up at around 2. They bathed him and that is all. Mind you I paid $68 with a tip. After realizing he was not groomed at all (no haircut, no nails cut, nothing) I called and was told I could bring him back. Which inconvenienced me as I was working was required to drive there and back a total of four times. At this point, I was frustrated and requested a partial reimbursement or credit for my next visit because the staff allowed me to pay for and pick up a dog that had not been serviced. After an employee spoke to the owner, Melissa, I was immediately told there would be no reimbursement or discount at all because I inconvenienced them by having to bring my dog back. They took no ownership for their lack of communication and I received a passive aggressive "sorry" for their lack of communication within their business. I even spoke to the manager personally and at no point in time did she offer a compromise, rather she pointed the blame at the me for picking my dog up before he was ready? Shouldnt they know my dog has or hasn't been groomed yet???? Absolutely beyond disappointed and never experienced this in my life. My dogs cut was rushed and he has a choppy cut now. Super unhappy and shocked at the level of immaturity and lack of customer service at this business. I will be looking for another groomer in the future. Would love a recommendation and would love to share anymore information as needed if anyone has any concerns with choosing this groomer. Attached are pictures of the cut my dog got after being brought back which they rushed as you can see by the uneven lines and hairs on his nose. Also, when I picked him up he peed 3 times and pooped immediately which yells me he was not taken out for the 6-8 hours he was there, which is awful. Absolutely 100% awesome! Can I give 10 stars? I cannot say enough wonderful things about the Bark Lodge. First, the facility is amazing. You are always greeted warmly at the front desk, which also has a little "doggie boutique". There are several inside playrooms as well as a few outside areas. Your pet is supervised constantly by a dog loving staff member. The coolest thing about Bark Lodge? You can watch your pet all day via video cam online- how incredible is that? I think it speaks volumes as to the quality of the facility to put themselves out there like that. My husband jokes he has a hard time getting work done when our little guy is there as he likes to watch him online. They also post several times a day on Facebook so you can also see your pet at play- some of the funniest pictures of our dog were taken by the Bark Lodge staff. Your dog also gets a daily report card stating his activity level, who he played with, and a description of his day- how fun! When I remarked that the staff knew how to play to dog people with the report card, the owner stated "that's because we ARE dog people". Enough said!! Look to Bark Lodge for not only doggie day care but grooming and boarding as well. Your pooch will love you all the more for it and you will love seeing him or her at play. read more

Had 2 of our 5 dogs at this place for almost a week, brought home kennel cough and now all 5 are exposed. When I called to advise, I was told the owner would call. Have not heard a word. Never again.*****update*** I'venow spent $138.00 to medicate my dogs, thanks Bark Lodge!!! read more

I brought my 4 month old puppy here for the first time this week. He spent three days of day care here. I called ahead to make a reservation (though for day care, drop off service is welcomed). I gave them my info and the info about my pup. When I arrived the next day to drop him off I reached for my bet records, the owner advised that had already called the vet & received a copy of his records (I LOVE proactive people!)! Hazard, my yorkiepoo, had a great first day. He was exhausted! The next two days were the same - happy and exhausted puppy. They have cameras, but also post photos and videos to Facebook throughout the day. It was great to check up on Hazard when I could throughout the day. The owner is very nice, you can tell she has a genuine love for dogs. I will definitely be bringing him back! read more

I had never brought my dog to Bark Lodge before, but after her regular place of stay was full, I opted for Bark Lodge. I was going out of town this past weekend and my parents were going to keep Breve, my boxer/Rhodesian ridgeback mix. My mom decided she wanted to take my dad on a hike this weekend for Father's day so she asked if I could set up for them to drop off Breve at a doggie day care in the morning and they could pick her up that evening since my husband and I wouldn't be here. I called Bark Lodge after seeing that they had consistently good reviews on Facebook. The young lady that I spoke to was very nice and understood my situation on the phone. She got the vet records faxed over and told me that the only thing my parents would need to do would be to fill out about 5 minutes of paperwork. I thought all was clear and set up, but apparently not. My parents and sister went to drop off Breve on Saturday morning as discussed and they couldn't find any record of her in their system. She had never stayed before so my family wasn't sure what to do. Finally, they found a note about her. Apparently Breve was acting afraid and had her hair standing up, which she does because she's mixed with Rhodesian Ridgeback and Boxer. The people checking her in acted unsure and almost afraid of Breve, which is very strange because she has never been aggressive with any other person or dog. In fact, she's a very loving and carefree girl. The people at the desk told my family that if Breve acted aggressively they would have to come back for her. So after my mom walked her back and left for about 10 minutes they called back to check on her. The folks there told my mom that she was snapping at other dogs and they didn't have a place to put her by herself so they had to come back. When I say that this is very strange behavior for Breve, please trust me. She was at Diggs for Dogs for 2 nights, and they did not once have a problem with her, and has always been socialized. I'm not sure why they would say she was snapping, unless they were just overwhelmed and too busy to keep her there. My family said they place was very busy while they were there. I hate that this happened, and I will not return. Apparently Breve wasn't comfortable there and neither were my family members leaving her. They said it was very strange with how the whole situation was handled. Not very professional in my opinion. read more

The doggy day care is a good value and they do a pretty good job with that. My one pet peeve is in the summer, they let the dogs run through the water hose which is great for the dogs, but my dog's hair ended up matted since he was allowed to air dry, so that was a pain for me to deal with. My real issue is with the grooming. I won't go into the details, but essentially I was not happy with the haircut my dog received. Rather than trying to listen to the problem, the owner was defensive and proceeded to tell me that was the cut I asked for and that she had it on video tape. Really? So the customer service alone has stopped me from returning. read more

Bark Lodge is a wonderful doggie daycare. Everyone working there adores animals and treats each dog like their own. I take my dog every workday. He loves it and is able to socialize and use up some of his jack russell energy. Bark Lodge's prices are good and competitive. I love their hours. They are the only doggie daycare I know of who opens at 7:00 a.m. and closes at 7 p.m. This works out great for my work hours, especially when I have to work a little late. Bark Lodge also has great classes for dogs and their owners. We've taken basic obedience and agility classes. Now that Bark Lodge stocks toys, treats, and dog food, it's a one-stop shop, and they do a great job at grooming! You can also watch your dog all day on video, if you want! read more

Our dog LOVES Bark Lodge and literally pulls us into the facility. He comes home happy, but tired and "Tired puppies are good puppies!"
