Normally a fairly good store but they've been closed for about 3 weeks due to some issues with smoke in their building. They will not be open for retail sales until everything has been inspected and is good for sale. My suggestion is to call before going to this location since there's no expected date they will open for retail again. read more

They are pretty friendly. I got a pet wash and bought some cans of cat food. They have some great displays but the shelves are a little dirty. The staff do just hang out and joke around when not ringing but could be updating the home made signs as some are a little worn. I would shop here again. read more

I used to go here allll the time when we had corgis. Fast forward several years and I'm back whenever puppy sitting our furry 'grand child'. The 8 pound Pom needed her usual 6 week Teddy Bear cut while staying with us. Although the trim was okay, I wasn't pleased with the length. My traveling daughter encouraged me to call so a week later I reluctantly talked to the manager, Kimberly, who was ever so helpful. She gave me an appointment for the following day with a different groomer, Courtney, and the cut was A+. The manager checked the Pom before we left and said she just wanted to make the service right. It was a pleasure working with Kimberly and Courtney. Of course we picked up treats from the wonderful displays on the way out. read more

Store in Rocklin always has issues with their self dog bath. Either the hoses, nozzles, the dryers and now they don't have towels because their washing machine is down and has been for many days. Owner or manager should take them somewhere to get cleaned. You have to bring your own towels but they didn't say anything about giving you a discount. They used to be a nice clean place but now looks run down. Call them if before taking the time to go there. read more

I love the convenience of the location to me, and the majority of the time I've received good service. This last time I went in, the kid in the front was so unpleasant to deal with. He has lots of attitude and seems like he was doing too much when all he had to do was ring me up and I asked 1 question. Makes me want to never return there. I have been coming to this place for many years. I have always loved the self serve baths and walk in nail trims for my pup. In the past year this place has really gone down hill. It started over this past summer when they had no spray nozzles on the bath tubs. After one excuse after another and at least a few months they finally got new ones. Then appx. 5 months ago I went in for a walk in nail trim for my dog. I was informed they weren't doing them that day because the groomer was to busy. Today it changed again. I read on the door you can't bring them on the weekends for this service anymore. Also posted on the door today it said they didnt have any towels to dry your dog after giving them a bath. I asked if they were going to have them. Was told "nope,no towels" (Are they no longer going to be avail?) I am done with this place. They have continued to take away services previously offered. It almost feels like they are closing. Save yourself the trip. I would recommend going else where for baths and trims since you never know what services they will be taking away next. read more

I've been coming to this location for a little over a year now for treats/toys/nail trims. At this point just take away the walk in nail trims. I will call in advance and be told a time frame of which to come in to get the 5 minute service done, then when coming in said time frame, am denied the ability to get the service done. I was deeply saddened by the closure of Mud to Sudz in my area as my Shy Lil Lucie had only been groomed there her entire life. After searching around I choose Bark Avenue because one of the groomers specializes in Aussies , Border Collies and Shelties. Perfect for my precious pup. I scheduled with Jessica for a Saturday morning. Jessica gave me some recommendations and said Lucie would be ready in about an hour and 45 minutes. I decided to stay in the area since this was a very short wait time. An hour and 45 minutes later I got the ready call from Jessica. Lucie was happy and beautiful. The grooming service with nails and glands was $55 total. If your looking for a new groomer Bark Avenue is a good choice. read more

Seriously, DO NOT bother taking your dog to use their self-service wash! We have actually taken our dog there several times since the tubs are big enough to wash our German Shepard without breaking my back, but unfortunately this place just gets worse every time--with the broken faucets, lack of soap/cleaning supplies, very messy self-service area & terrible customer service, I always end up leaving very disappointed. The young ladies who work there do nothing but chit chat with each other or just stare off into the abyss and when I have inquired about either a broken faucet or lack of cleaning supplies, I get a blank look with a unapologetic statement like, "Yea, we know." I wish the owner/manager would do something to address the problems because evidently we are not the only customers to have made these very similar complaints. read more

Bark avenue, what a great place, took almost 6 hours to groom my baby because he has been traumatized by other groomers, Nadia was wonderful, took her time, showed so much care for my baby. I will be a customer for life. Hats off again to Nadia for taking the time to talk to me about solutions and what my baby needs. She did and excellent job, actually cut his nails, where as other groomers just file. And not a lot. He looks great. They are very sensitive to your animals needs. read more

Ever since the new owners took over a few months ago, Bark Ave Rocklin has gone downhill. They always seem to be low on stock, and although friendly and helpful when carrying heavy bags of dog food out to the car, the clerks spend most of their time on their phones instead of making sure the place is tidy. Furthermore, there are no level 1 or 2 studies, i.e. evidence based, supporting the rotation of proteins in a dog or cats diet, which is prominently displayed on your board. I've been a long- time customer, but I'm going to have to find another independent from which to purchase supplies for my dogs. read more

If you are looking for a place to have your pets groomed look no further. Bark Avenue is the best around. Everyone is so helpful and welcoming. Our Groomer Sierra greats our dogs by their names and they can't wait to see her. We have a big black lab that used to be scared to be groomed well not anymore she looks forward to going into Bark Ave. I like it because it's not so clinical and there is no door to slam that can sometime scare the dogs. It's just a nice small friendly place to have pets groomed. UPDATE Please disregard my entire previous post! They have gone completely down hill in the past several months. The last straw was today. We had an appointment for both of our dogs took them in and they only had 1 down. We have never taken only one dog in it has always been both. They didn't even try to rectify the situation. When my son Went back to pick up our small dog they wouldn't even give her to him so I'm feeling like they are keeping her hostage. Nothing has been done to try to fix the situation so needless to say I will no longer be recommending them to anyone ever and I will never take my dogs to them again. read more

Awful awful awful! This review is specifically for the groomer Sara. The rest of the staff gets 5 stars! Toby (my 10lbs rescued chi) and I came in on Saturday. I asked for a nail trim. I explained that Toby is a rescue and is very scared of everything. Sara assured me that he'll be just fine. I put Toby on the grooming table while Sara prepared her tools. Sara became noticeably frustrated because her Dremel was not working. She had an electrical problem. She started complaining about her arthritis and she cannot fix the cord herself. She yelled to her coworker who was in the other room to help her. The coworker came in and fix the extension cord the Dremel was plugged into. Sara attempted to use the Dremel again. Still it did not work. Sara continued to complain about her arthritis, how she was getting over Covid, and the electrical problem stressing her out. She started showing me signs of her arthritis on her hands. The dremel started working and she began to file tobys nails. He was scared and tried to get away. Which I expected. Sara asked i put him in my lap. It helped a little. But now Sara is irritated I am not holding him right because he is still trying to escape. So we put Toby back on the grooming table. After a Sara finished she let out a sigh of relief as of saying "finally! Ugh" Sara was so unprofessional her coworkers had to apologize to me!!!! This is my second time here. I will continue to come. The facility is great and the rest of the team is fantastic. But Sara obviously does not like her job or cannot handle the stress of it!!!! After 3 years of using bark avenue's grooming department I am extremely disappointed in there service, communication, and professionalism. Took my dog in for a cut, mind you yes he was matted and the hair was out of control, this had never been an issue in the past 3 years. I made a last minute appointment a new gal was assigned to our dog. She came out saw our dog explained to her to leave as much hair as possible. Here again this had never been an issue before our dog is a 12lb golden doodle. We get a call that she wasn't able to finish the dog because she ran out of time, she went on overtime and I would have to come back on a Sunday this was on a Friday. He was not washed, nails weren't cut MY DOG LOOKED LIKE A FREKEN Q-TIP!!!!! They didn't give a rats ass about how my dog looked and how bad of a job was done. The owner was connected and he didn't even give a rip! I know the owner Robin and she has always been helpful and awesome along with her staff, but i guess her husband doesn't share those same values. It takes one time to be careless, they didn't even contact us to make it right! You are not the only groomer out there I'll take my business elsewhere!!!!! Jessica is the best groomer our family has ever encountered in over fifteen years of schnauzer ownership , from puppies to mature/infirm adult dogs. She is wonderful with them and gives an excellent, gentle groom. Our newest puppy was an asshole at the beginning and would not let Jessica trim his ears but has now been tamed and allows her to groom him beautifully. She also calls timely when the groom is complete, which is very helpful while I am trying to wrangle our new baby and other family members around town. She is considerate and great with our pets. This review is specifically in regards to the grooming area. We made an appointment on Thursday for our 3 dogs to get groomed. The original appointment was for Saturday, but not less than a hour later they called to reschedule saying that they had accidently overbooked the groomers. We moved our appointment to Sunday with no worries. Sunday came and we arrive to find the grooming area full and people waiting. One man was told that they did not have his appointment on the books and he was blatantly upset. There was a dog being brushed on the table that was crying out. The woman grooming the dog just kept pulling at the dog and tossing the dog from side to side, ignoring that the dog was visibly uncomfortable. We felt uncomfortable with this, but decided to keep our appointment. Another lady greeted us after 15 minutes of waiting (after our appointment time) and quoted us the price for our dogs. We decided to pay the extra $10 for the de-shedding process for one of our dogs. A hour and half later they called to say all 3 were ready. This was concerning because one dog was suppose to be groomed (full shave down), another with the de-shedding process, and the final was just bath and nails. When we picked up our dog the one that had needed to be shaved down was patchy and had tufts of hair that had not been shaved down at all! When we questioned this the lady rudely grabbed our dog and took her over to even it out. She complained that whole time that it was "too hard" to get the hair even. She tossed our small 4lb dog around as she shaved her causing my husband to go over and hold our dog who was now shaking. The dog that was suppose to get the de-shedding had tufts of hair sticking out as if they had started brushing, but never finished. By the time we got to the car tufts of hair were falling out. We will never be returning to this groomer again. We paid $121 for our 3 dogs and all we got were 3 baths, 3 nail trims, and a horrible hair cut. We will be taking our dogs back to their previous groomers. read more

So here it goes my review: We have a Husky and they do have professional full wash service or you can do it on your own. I like both, but believe me if they do it your dog will come out much cleaner and looking better! The team they have there is professional and will take good care of your pet. If you have question about anything Just ask them, don't leave if you are disappointed in something! Friendly staff at grooming and great customer service skills. She had my little dog on my lap while she trimmed her nails. I also liked the self-service wash basin to self-bathe your dog. They also have a mobile vet clinic every other Saturday at this location for shots and other vet care. My long-time vet in ROCKLIN, Dr. Carstens, retired and the new vet who took over not so friendly in terms of prices and customer services. Our two Boston terriers HRH Queen Beatrix of Bostonia (AKA Queenie) and Harvey Milk Bone are like our kids. In fact, I refer to them as our four-legged fur children. My partner and I are adamant about feeding them good, healthy food because we want them to be with us for a long, long time. Not only does Bark Avenue carry good, hearty, healthy dog food, but they carry it at a very reasonable price (Actually considerably cheaper than some big pet supply chains). More than that... Bark Avenue is locally owned and operated and the staff is AMAZINGLY friendly and helpful. Bark Avenue is our go-to for everything dog-related. I even take Queenie and Harvey on a regular basis for manis and pedis. The groomers do an excellent job which is no small feat considering that Harvey is a bundle of energy and Queenie is very timid and nervous. Last week when I was in Bark Avenue getting our dogs their 'nummies,' I had a chance to speak with Robin (the shop's proprietor). She told me that she and her husband opened their first store on the same day they had to release their beloved dog, Spencer, because he was suffering from cancer. In treating Spencer's cancer, Robin and Ken researched the best food options available and learned a lot about pet nutrition. Bark Avenue grew out of their commitment to making sure nutritious, healthy pet food was affordable for all pet guardians. Learning that made me an even BIGGER fan. I cannot say enough good things about Bark Avenue. The store is clean, the staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and the prices are really excellent. I "woof" Bark Avenue. read more

I am so disappointed! i've taken my labradoodle a handful of times for grooming. The first couple of times he looked fine and on our third or fourth visit he looked absolutely fantastic. On our most recent visit he came out of the groomers with an uneven haircut on every single part of his body. The tail was cut unevenly. His head was cut unevenly. His legs were cut unevenly. I called in to speak to someone and was told there was no Manager on duty. When I explained the situation to the perky girl who answered the phone she placed me on hold so that she could get the grooming manager. Really? When I spoke to the grooming manager and explained to her the way that my dogs hair looShe apologized and stated that she would talk to the groomer. We discussed him coming back in but his hair was simply too short to be fixed in some places. She did not offer to comp the poor service nor did she offer a complementary grooming for another time. We will not be back to Bark Avenue. read more

Best dog and cat pet store that I have ever been to. The owner is a nice man, and runs a nice staff. Every time I walk in, I am welcomed with smiles. I adopted my cat from these guys, and they always want an update. They care about animals, and they love them to death! Their grooming is great, even the self wash!! Prices are great, the food is HEALTHY!!!!!, and the service is good too. I only buy healthy treats for my pitt, and I could buy anything from here and it would satisfy both my dog and myself. I could list more things, but the point is, YOU WON'T REGRET COMING HERE! It's in a so-so location, but don't be fooled. Only 2-3 staff members there at a time so it's pretty empty. But again, don't be fooled. These guys are top quality. 12$ self wash on Wednesdays are awesome! You can wash as many times as you'd like until your doggie is all clean! I don't even go to Petsmart anymore! Bark Ave. is the only place I go for little miss Molly and Mr. Rookie :) Oh, and if an item is cheaper elsewhere, they will double check that it is cheaper, and then lower their price. Our first experience with Bark Avenue Groomers, we were impressed! We had stopped using another local groomer because they cut our dogs ear or paws would bleed profusely. Today, one of our dogs paws bled when picking her up. But the cuts were amazing and the staff in the grooming part of the store are amazing! They have great customer service skills despite so much going on around them. They welcomed our other dog which has high anxiety with open arms and said they would hug him more if he got scared. We have two Mini-Schnauzers and a Chorkie. And while three are more than a handful, they handled the visit; grooming, etc. with ease.
